(Inspired by these little guys.)Katerine stood with the other Dragon-keepers of Glass-Water Glade. After many years of training in the mountains, it came down to this. As the youngest Keeper, and one of only three female keepers, it was a chance to prove her worth. A flaming mass flickered through the trees, hot and menacing. She ran toward the blaze with the Waters and the Fires. It was their job to try and calm the inferno. Some of the Water-Folk were already trying to spray the flames, with little success. When she was close enough, she lifted her arms, pointing her palms at the fiery mass. Gathering her Spiritual Energy as the monks had taught her, she released it. Some of the fire was under her control now. She moved her arms and where there were once flames there was only smoke. Then, Katerine repeated her movements over and over. Gradually, they were winning over the blaze. An Air Dragon-Keeper called Brent landed near her. "It's another one of Saraann's breeds," he said. "I should've known..."

Aizar wasn't the kind of dragon you disturbed. Although she was associated with the normally-serene Water Dragonkeepers, she had a fearsome temper. When the fire broke out, she flew with the other Waters, calling down the powers of the rain and snow to quell the flames. Aizar flew out on a broader circle than the others. Down in the burning forest below, she saw the bright scales of a dragon. Curiosity, piqued, she flew closer to investigate.
