Vapor stirred as she felt Sarn leave her side. The dragon yawned, revealing long ivory teeth and a gemstone set in the roof of her mouth. Her sleep was fitful, punctured by fits of awareness filled with worry. Every so often, the uncomfortable, cold Manor floor or the restlessness of a 'bloider pacing had shook her awake. She silently missed her socks desperately and there was a knot of worry in the pit of her stomach.
She rose slowly, careful to favor her right side. In a few stiff strides, the dragon managed to make it to Sarn’s shoulder. Her loved one sat on a warmer patch of the Manor floor, looking grim. Vapor nuzzled his cheek over one of his golden wings. They’re gathering, aren’t they? Vapor said, softly. I can feel them- they’re close. And stronger.

"How many are we missing? Once we get all the survivors back here, we need to formulate a plan. I suggest a small task group of four or five people or creatures to go after that evil girl that's causing this whole thing. And then anyone who can fight will need to help lessen the numbers of the Spikelings. That's just my opinion." Chaos declared.

Nevar had not slept at all, but had remained slumped against the stone walls, watching as the sky slowly lightened. He had seen Chaos hovering around and had watched as Sarn followed closely by Azzie and Vapor, had woken and conversed in low, anxious tones. Now that most people were fairly awake, Nevar decided to take up the mantle of authority. He was, after all, the only staff member there.
He stood up, stretching slowly, deliberatly letting his muscles contract and released the tension in them, then cleared his throat and tapped to wall with his boot.
"Everyone," he said, quiet at first but more forcefully later, "everyone come over here."
Slowly, the few forumers there gathered around him and Nevar took a deep, calming breath.
"I've been thinking and we have two primary objectives. The first is to find and help as many forumers and bloiders as we can, the second is to find out as much as we can about the Spikelings and I don't see why the two have to be mutually exclusive." Here, he paused and looked first to Vapor and then to Azzie, Chaos and Sarn. "Those of us lucky enough to have the gift of flight should be the ones to find the forumers but it also might be useful if you could observe the Spikelings, see how they behave with one another, gather information."
He paused as he saw Sarn nod.
"The rest of us will be waiting here to help any of the injured forumers you bring back. I also think we should search the Manor's library. This place is as old as time itself and there may be some clue as to what kind of magic this is and, if we're lucky, it may give us a clue how to defeat it."
He nodded once more to indicate that his statements were now open for discussion and waited, praying that no one would disagree.
.....
Sarn felt Vapor's nose touch his cheek, nuzzling him. He couldn't help but smile as he leaned back into her warm embrase. He felt the worry in her mind as she spoke to him and he couldn't help but mirror that worry. Azzie looked at him and Chaos, stating with calm determination that the others had to be found and Sarn agreed.
He heard Nevar calling the group over. He walked with his hand on Vapor's back, both lending mutual comfort to the other as they listened to Nevar's plan and nodded along with him. When he had stopped speaking, Sarn lifted his wings slightly, the traditinal Icarii gesture of affirmation. He would hasten to obey Nevar if it meant that Drew would be safe and that he would have a chance to find his friends and Lysa.

Vapor revealed a single white tooth as she lifted her lips in a reptilian smile. She was glad Nevar took the mantle of leadership. The staff member might have seemed less than sure of himself at times, but he was a sound person, and his judgement was good. Of course, it didn't hurt that his plan coincided with her propisition last night. Sarn stood by the dragon's side, and Vapor was grateful for the soft touch of support he gave. She could feel open agreement from the winged 'bloider for Nevar's plan.
Vapor nodded to herself. She was glad to be of service to the 'bloiders, to recruit others, and she was anxious to find the others that had been lost the night before, but she had purposes of her own, as well. If she remembered correctly, her lair was not secured, and there was someone she needed to meet, under the light of the current circumstances. It's time to see if I can discover where my twin's loyalties lie. Vapor muttered under her breath.
Vapor shuffled her feet impatiently. Now that she had rested, albeit fitfully, she could feel her energy renewed and the dragon was sure she could successfully fly, even if she had to rely on levitation and manipulating air currents more than her still-healing muscle. She was restless, now that she had a purpose.

" I'm sorry, I don't seem to know you're name, but one thing. Yes we obviously need to rescue the other bloiders. We also need to take care of this Evil Melody person. As she seems to be behind this whole thing. How do you propose we do that?" Chaos asked Nevar.

((Sorry I had been busy IRL)) "This is a Spikeling. They have powerful dark magic and club-like weapons, but we found that their weak spot is their eyes.." he turned around, making sure that there weren't any coming. "And there's hundreds of them.." he finished for the time being, tearing the Spikeling drawing out of his notebook.
Lysa was quite shocked at what the others had been going through. "And... you were all killing them?" Well duh Lysa thought to herself. She shivered, kill or be killed. She stared at the drawing, and from what she had learnt, and how scared Chris was, she was scared too, of the Spikelings and espeicially of Evil Melody and what she could do, but mostly of what had happened to the others who hadn't returned. Lysa imagined Sarn wrapping his wings around her, warm and safe, and wished he was back.
"Should we light a fire? The Spikelings seemed to hate the light."
"Well the fire could attract them to us, or like you say deter them. Either way we need the light and warmth for the night. And I'm sure there is more then just Spikelings in the forest at night." The group had quickly gathered enough fuel for the fire before complete darkness surrounded them. Once it was started it kept the deep night at bay in a small flickering circle around the small group. The weather was thankfully calm, if a little chilly, but Lysa was more worried about what was lurking and hunting under the trees around them.
...
Lysa woke as the first light of the morning appeared, resting on Teigra's warm back. Lysa had slept lightly, dozing for short periods and waking when a rustle, imagined or real she couldn't tell, came from the dark forest. She would put some wood on the fire, stroke Teigra's neck and stare into the bright centre of the flames untill her eyes drooped once again. The night had been very long. "Is anyone awake?" Lysa softly asked as she sat up. She doubted the others had slept much better then her, though sleep was good for healing the body and calming the mind.

Candy, her strength back, looked for Lysa. She was scared now, and ran toward the place where her inner sense of directions told her to go.
"What is this place?"she asked the air in front of her.
"We dont know,"a group of voices whispered.
Candy turned slowly. She grinned, and gave everyone a hug.
Bryan was here, and he had her friends Carina, Nicole, Emma, Lizzy, Jill, Becca, Becky, and Rebecca.
(Carina, Nicole, Emma, Lizzy, Jill, Becky, Becca, and Rebecca are all people anyone can use. Bryan doesnt want to have you make him talk.)

Azzie felt something poke her back gently.Panicking, she whirled around to see Adrianna.
You're awake, Azzie sent.
Of course I am, Adrianna sent back. Your friend was talking loudly. You are going to find the others, she sent matter-of-factly.
Yes, sent Azzie. She held her breath, knowing what she was about to ask. Will you come with me? She put a hand on the unicorn's mane, cool and damp as always.
Of course, Adrianna sent. Now come on, there are forumers that need help! Adrianna whipped her mane up into Azzie's face, drenching her. Azzie laughed.
"We're going to leave now, okay, guys?" Azzie said, walking toward the staircase. "Sarn, Vape, Chaos, you might want to leave from upstairs so the Spikelings don't have a chance to get you. There's a massive window up there," she explained. She ran up the stairs, Adrianna ahead of her.
Be careful, Azzie urged her friend. Adrianna put her nose to Azzie's cheek.
I will. You too. We'll find them, Adrianna replied. The two flew out the window and toward the forest, but Azzie faltered a little when she saw just how many Spikelings were in the area around Mage Manor. She recovered, however, and flew slightly faster. Her nerves had ignited.

Azzie and Adrianna had already left, Chaos was demanding that Evil Melody be found right away and Vapor and Sarn were desperate to be gone, finding their friends. Nevar was as worried as they were but he also knew that he had to be careful.
"Chaos, do you honestly think Evil Melody will be that easy to find? There are thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands of Spikelings out there. The best thing we can do for now is find our friends, as many as can be rescued, and learn as much as we can."
He nodded at the other flying Bloiders. Sarn took off in an instant, soaring out the window, brushing its frame and leaving a few golden feathers behind. Nevar didn't wait any longer, he turned, motioned to any flightless Bloiders and guided them to the library in Mage Manor.
He indicated the masses of books, dusty volumes, spellbooks, histories and much more, and began to pull out any volume that looked like it might be any help at all. They had to find out what the Spikelings were before their Dark Magic grew too strong for the Manor to fight.

Candy screamed as she realized they were surrounded by weird looking things.
"Bryan, stay here!"Candy screamed, and ran inside with her friends.
She could hear talking, and followed the voices.

Vapor eagerly climbed onto the brick sill of the window, thrusting out her wings. She lept into the air, careful to use just enough telekinesis to keep herself aloft without weighing too heavily on her injured wing. Later on, higher up, she could manipulate air currents and get a nice thermal... But there was a lovely, light breeze that gave her a nice tailwind, now. She smiled as the fresh air cooled her scales, feeling a purr bubbling down in her chest.
Vapor swallowed her purr, remembering all too quickly what this flight was for. She spotted Sarn circling as well, and she gave him a nod. Vapor gave a few long thrusts of her wings and turned in the direction of the more populated section of Tabloid Town.
There had to be civilians there, willing to help. Vapor gulped. Maybe the Spiklings had gotten that far, as well, and there were those being terrorized that needed saving. Doesn't hurt that my lair was there, too. Vapor muttered to herself. She almost reached back to touch the part of her back where the familiar weight of her wok was gone. I hope my replacement is still there...

Candy whistled shrilly. Her backup unicorns came quickly.
"Climb on,"she motioned to everyone, and they all did.
"This looks, um, fun,"Lizzy said.
"Fly,"Candy said, and the unicorns took off through the open door, with Bryan looking up at them.
Candy waved at him, and screamed,"GOODBYE!"

Azzie flew over the forest, hoping to catch sight of Evil Melody or one of her friends. For what felt like ages she flew, the air stinging her face. Her heart was heavy. She felt as though she might cry again, but she wouldn't let herself. Out of the corner of Azzie's eye, she saw something move. Curious, she looked down. A bright flash of orange appeared, then disappeared behind the trees, then appeared again. She allowed herself to descend into the forest, hoping that the orange flash was not a new kind of Spikeling. She landed, feeling quite dizzy. She had to cling to a tree for balance. The orange flash appeared again, but this time Azzie could see it clearly.
"A tiger," she observed. "Teigra?" She followed it.
About ten feet away, a very nervous-looking Lysa say huddled by a fire.
"Oh my goodness!" Azzie cried. "Are you okay?"

The unicorns flapped their wings. Candy and Lizzie spotted smoke, which was far off into the distance, at the same time.
"SMOKE!"Lizzie screamed, and Candy pointed.
The unicorns flew toward the smoke.
They finally reached the fire, where Azzie, Lysa, and Teigra were.
"Guys!"Candy yelled, hoping they would look up.
"Guys?"she asked softly.

((Candy, you were already with Lysa, Tiegra, Rieth and Chris. xD))
Sarn watched Candy and the unicorns speed past in a flurry of wings and hooves. He saw Azzie, a colourful speck in the distance, and he saw Vapor, launching herself into the air and tilting slightly to the left, favouring her right wing. A nod from her sent him scouring the forests. He saw no Spikelings which was worrisome but he shoved the thought to the back of his mind, focusing on picking out forumers among the trees.
Candy had descended with her horde of unicorns and shouted something. There was a small tower of smoke rising slowly, lost among the clouds, and Sarn shot down like a bullet, almost hitting the ground in his haste. There, sitting around the fire, were those forumers left behind at the first assault. Chris was there, looking pale and deshevelled and Lysa and Tiegra were sitting curled together.
Sarn rushed over and greeted them all warmly, relieved beyond measure to find Lysa safe. He wrapped his arms and wings around her and smothered her with kisses, finding enough joy in himself to smile for her.
He let her go, stepping back and glanced around. "How are we going to get you all to safety?"
