Chaos looked at the scenario unfolding below him. No, these creatures were stealing his spotlight. Not anymore. He flew off toward a large hoarde of the creatures in the forest, after hearing what on bloider screamed. He then proceeded to drop and detonate a large amount of explosives. About twenty to thirty of the hoarde were blown up, while the some seemed hurt, and others were completely fine. " The eyes you say?" Chaos asked as he flew down towards the group of bloiders. He attached his board to his back, and unsheathed his claws, five on each hand, protruding out of the fingers. They were about two feet long. Two creatures glided at him, but before they could hit him, his claws went straight into their eyes, and the creatures fell like a sack of potatoes. Chaos was too busy dealing with the two infront of him, he didn't notice the one behind him, that hit him with a club, sending Chaos flying feet feet forward, and landing face down on the hard ground. " Sneak attacks and cheap shots. This isn't fair, he's stealing my gimmick." Chaos said before laughing. He took out a small throwing star, which he tossed at the creature's eye. The creature was hit, and fell like the others.

These creatures proved to be strong in dark magic also, and even with everyone fighting, they were greatly outnumbered. A sickening sound was heard as a club made contact with Melody's head. She fell to the ground, hands over head. Drew was gracefully dodging many of the creature's attacks and attacking with her katana when she saw Melody on the ground. Grabbing her hand, she teleported the both of them a bit away, knowing that even though the creatures weak points were now exposed, they had strength in numbers, and that the best option for the moment would be to retreat. She was unsure of the others plans, though, and while trying to heal Melody, wondered if they should fight these creatures, or flee them... Hearing explosions in the distance, Chaos must have been fighting too. Noticing his sharp claws, she thought to herself, fighting the creatures should be no problem for him...

Chaos flew towards Melody. " I don't ever do this, but under the circumstances. Take these for now, I want them back though." Chaos stated tossing his hand guns at Melody. " Take of the safety though, or no shots."

Relief flooded Vapor's body as she saw Sarn rise to his feet. Shaking her head free of the last few tendrils of influencing rage, she glanced around as she ran to him. Even though the uncontrolled rage was gone, Vapor could still feel a prickle of dark blots in the back of her mind. Unsure of what had happened, she suddenly wanted nothing more than to be encased in Sarn's secure golden wings. Before she could travel a few steps, however, an explosion scattered her face with shrapnel. Gasping and practically falling over, Vapor pulled her wok from behind her back to defend herself.
After a moment, she realized that the bomb was not meant for her. It had come from the hand of a clawed figure to her right, with the other 'bloiders- and it was aimed at something to her left. She slowly turned around to face a troop of white-skinned, spiked beings. The prickling in the back of her mind increased. Dark magic? She whispered to herself.
The 'bloiders rushed past her, attacking the dark figures in anyway they could. Vapor immediately followed, wielding her wok high. But her anger had burned away- there was only dread left, and fear; fear of the unknown, of what she did not understand. To her dismay, every blow she paid to the beings glanced off. Vapor spotted Chaos ahead of her, stabbing a creature in the eye. As she saw the creature fall, the prickling lessened somewhat.
The eyes, eh? She muttered to herself grimly. Too bad I favor blunt weapons. To her side, a creature lunged for her head, and she managed to whack him in the face- a blow that would easily give a concussion to anything else, but, as it was, the figure only took a step back.

Melody, still somewhat dizzy, dashed back to the others, guns in hand. Shooting creatures in the eyes, before long, they became wise to this trick, and staring blocking most oncoming attacks. In the back of Melody's mind, there was a thought; There's so many of them... how many are we fighting off?
Chris was not sure what to do at all. What had happened was, eventually finding his way to where the others were, he saw Sarn being healed and a person he did not know blowing up old buildings. Chris has smirked at this, causing random explosions is just what happens in the 'bloids. Turning around, he noticed other people, or so he thought. He walked over to where the others were when the creatures, white in skin, bulging eyes, attacked. The 'bloiders fought for their lives until Nevar discovered their secret weakenss- their eyes. At the moment, Chris found himself unarmed, which left him to fighting with his fists. Carelessly punching a creature in the face, it acted like a fly landed on it. The creatures club narrowly missed Chris, and to the point where he thought things were hopeless, Melody and Drew came back out, attacking the creatures that were ready to kill him. Meldoy, noticing Chris unarmed, lent him her longsword, she was attacking with handguns. Where ever she got those from... Chris thought to himself before also trying to fend off these creatures.
Drew took her eyes off the battle for a moment, spying someone in the distance.
Evil Melody.

Post by ♥ Azzie on Mar 16, 2009 19:52:14 GMT -5
Azzie froze, seeing the multitude of nightmarish creatures and realizing she had no talent for offense. She had no weapons, and even if she'd had any she knew that she was useless in wielding every one she'd tried. Her one attack could only stun her foes, not directly harm them, and she knew that it could also stun her friends. Besides, Azzie smelled the same choking dark magic she'd smelled earlier. It was very possible that these creatures were invulnerable to such attacks. She thought for a few minutes before it finally occurred to her. She summoned all her strength and filled her mind with red. She sent each of her friends a jet of red light through her fingers, in the same way she had healed Sarn. She had hit everyone she saw, and could look no more. She collapsed, her energy depleted rather considerably. She glanced around from where she had sat and smiled. It had worked; her allies seemed to be fighting a bit faster and more focused. She hoped it was enough, she certainly couldn't do much else.

" Everyone, run, leave. I'll try and hold them back as long as possible. Get the injured back." Chaos knew this was not like him, but he was still getting attention. He took out many throwing stars. He began whipping them at the creatures. They fell quickly, but there were too many. He used up a couple more bombs, which killed about ten creatures. There were still what looked like hundreds of them though.

Sarn focused his mind wholly on his task. He had broken the first of his arrows and was nearly smashed by the massive knobbly club of his attacker as he tried to pull another. He stepped backwards, using his wings as a counter balance and managed to avoid the cumbersome weapon.
He dispatched the humanoid, Spikeling? In the few moments he had to himself, Sarn glanced around, trying to see where his friends were. Azzie was slumped against a huge block of masonry, her face pale and Sarn was glad to see that the Spikelings were not concerned enough to attack her. Vapor was wielding her wok with all her not unconsiderable might but the blunt weapon was having little effect on the hard exo-skeletons of her foes.
He saw several more Bloiders dance past, engaged in active combat and then there was no more time to think, only to act. Instinct burst to the surface, suppresing the need for any thought other then survival.
.....
Reith cried out in pain as one of the arm spikes of her enemy slashed across her face. She stumbled backwards, desperately clinging to her shabadai dagger. Through her eyes, stained red, she saw the creature leering down at her, raising its club for one last blow...
.....
Talai threw his spear. The projectile struck true and the creature arched backward, overbalanced by the weight of its raised club. He rushed over to Reith who lay curled up, trying to protect herself from the impact. He shook her gently and then helped her up, wiping her bloody face with his coat.
.....
There were to many of them. For every one creature the Bloiders defeated, three more were there to take its place, gliding and shrieking evilly. Nevar saw Reith almost defeated, saved by Talai at the last moment. He saw Drew fighting with her Samurai sword and Melody with projectile weaponry and Chris with Melody's sword.
And then Chaos was there, using some sort of fanged frisbees and telling everyone to get the injured to safety.
It was all too much. No matter how long they fought, there would always be more of the horrid things advancing. He made up his mind and summoned all the authority he could, injecting it into his voice.
"RETREAT!" he shouted above the noises of clanking metal and shreiking monsters. "RETREAT!"

"RETREAT!" Drew heard Nevar shout over the noises of the battle. She also shouted "RETREAT!". Chris, not a skilled swordsman, immediately ran over. Melody was overwhelmed by all the creatures there were, and eventually also ran over. Drew, tossing one last kunai, ran over when more and more creatures started to swarm in, making it almost 10 creatures against each 'bloider. They needed to find a place to hide, for now.
Melody was thinking to herself. These creatures, where they came from or what they wanted, she did not know. We have to fight them.
Chris was also thinking to himself. These creatures were greatly powerful, and there were hundreds.. We can't fight them..
Evil Melody, watching more and more 'bloiders run, erupted in laughter. "RUN, FOOLS, RUN!"

"Glowing Book?" Repeated Lysa. She wasn't sure wether the fact that Candy was having visions of Evil Melody was more helpful, or dangerous. Did Evil Melody know of their connection?
Hearing the repeated explosions from accross the forest Teigra was getting agitated. She couldn't sit still, walking to a tree, raising to sharpen her long claws, walking back to gently rub her body across Lysa. "What should we do, they need help." Teigra growled, ready to follow her freind and master wherever she wanted to go.
"What is Evil Melody doing now?" Lysa asked Candy.

RETREAT!
Vapor panted with the effort of throwing off the... Spikelings? She blinked. Where had that term come from? But Spikelings was apparently what the creatures had been deemed, because it seemed to be floating on the lips of every 'bloider.
Vapor didn't know how much energy she had left; it was definitely a mistake trying to fight in her slower, albeit stronger dragon form, especially when she couldn't use any of her favorite self-defense techniques. Still, she didn't know if she had enough energy left to transform into a human. Blocking another spike aimed at her shoulder, Vapor tried her best to follow the cry to retreat, but she was swamped by the deathly white bodies, surrounded, buried by the seething mass of creatures.
Vapor could feel blood being drawn in dozens of places all across her body, too many attacks for her to counter at once. Panicking, she desperately tried to remember how to manipulate air in combat, but her mind drew a blank. Beyond all other options, Vapor tried to take flight, weighed down by bodies throwing themselves over her, dampening her wings.
For a moment, Vapor was pulled under by the weight of the Spikelings, but her sinewy form burst from the mass, flinging her prized wok behind. Fueled by pure adrenaline and fear, Vapor pounded the air, attempting to remain in the air, attempting to follow the fleeing 'bloiders.

" EVERYONE GET OUT OF HERE NOW!!" Chaos yelled. He continued setting off bombs, and throwing stars. He stabbed at a few creatures. They still kept coming at him. " GET, GO NOW!!" He was attacked from behind, and tried to recover in time, but was hit by a crushing blow to the back.

"Calling everyone fools as they run away,"Candy said.
She wanted to get to that evil girl, but she was too weak at the moment.
"Lysa, do you think I am strong enough to go and attack her?"Candy said weakly.

Nevar thought desperately as he ran, wondering where to go, where they could hide. It needed to be secure, a hideout of sorts and it needed to be big enough to fit Vapor. A thought came to him as he ran frantically.
Mage Manor.
He passed several Bloiders and told them to head toward the Manor in a rund about fasion so as not to leade the Spikelings there.
.....
Sarn saw Vapor disappear under a writhing mass of Spikelings. He cried out in anguish, trying, and failing, to fly to her aid. His wings beat uselessly at the air and he tripped and tumbled. He landed sprawled on the ground and stood up hurridly, fending off another few Spikelings. Vapor burst out of the mass of pallid creatures and raised herself to the sky.
"Vapor!" he cried at her, waving for help. He couldn't fly and he couldn't run fast enough. Not with such huge wings on his back.
From somewhere to his right, Sarn heard Nevar shout to go to Mage Manor and he saw the Bloiders scatter in all directions. He hoped they'd heared the Mini-mod before fleeing.

There was but one thing on Drew's mind, survival. She managed to hear something in the distance. "..Manor". Assuming Mage Manor, she switched directions to Mage Manor. She skidded to a halt, a spikeling approaching. It wasted no time in attempting to bash her with it's strange club, Drew taking an awkward step back, falling to the ground. Her eyes grew large as it raised it's club again, ready to strike. Managing to roll out of the way, the club made contact with the dirt, causing a weak earth tremor. Shakily getting to her feet, she saw more Spikelings approaching, and still worn out from her last encounter with these creatures, she fled towards Mage Manor.
Chris was running in practically the opposite direction to Drew. He was one of the unfortunate ones that never heard Nevar, he continued to run, eventually ending up at the location of Candy and Lysa. He stopped, gasping for air after his sprint.
Melody was in fact, skidded to a halt before she got too far, seeing her friends in trouble. Chris had returned her longsword, which she weilded in her right hand. Staring at the Spikelings ready to attack, part of her said Run before you're next! and part said Don't leave them there! Finally deciding, she got closer to a Spikling that had it's club raised, and screamed, as loud as possible, distracting it long enough so she could slash it's eyes. It dropped it's club in pain, which she picked up in her left hand, trying to fight off the creatures, still exhausted.
