I don't care for the Tyrannian one. Something about the face. He's just UNPLEASANT to look at. The feather necklace kind of makes up for it.
The Snow one is ridiculously boring. Seriously, not one remotely special touch? LAME.

Hm, I think they could've replaced the tail spade with a leaf, methinks.
I think the Tyrannian one has too many body spots. :< But I actually like the hair on the head, and the overall face. Does he really have no nose, though? Interesting...
But I do think the strawberry clothing ensemble is quite cute. Very teenage high school, methinks, and I like how the shoelaces remain untied. X3

I thought the Snow one was White at first. I dunno, I think it's pretty, especially the eyes. Tyrannian is nifty too. And those new clothes make me wish I had a Zafara. x3

Like komori Tombstones said, the lack of a nose on the tyrannian zaffy is a bit irritating, but other then that, pretty good design. I like the necklace thing. Nothing eye popping on the snow zaffy though.  could be confused with a sketch zaffy with different eyes. |

None of these does anything for me.
As has been pointed out, Tyrannian doesn't have a nose. I have to wonder what was going through the artist's head when they made that decision? Reminds me of some beastie out of Hellboy or something.

The Tyrannian one looks oddly ... lopsided, for some reason. Though maybe that's just the noseless thing. Also, those are some of the hugest eyebrows I've ever seen. Ever. xD
Snow looks kind of bland, though suitably fluffy. The eyes are gorgeous, though, even if they look about as coal-like as peat. x3

I liked the Tyrannian Zafara a little, but I think if spots looked more natural, instead of circles/squares spots, that would've been better. Too much brown for me. And Snow... well.. just another pointless avy pet. A leaf on the tail (like Tombstones said) and carrots as spikes on the back would've looked better. Maybe a coal lump as a nose?? Neopets' artists are starting to lack of creativity lately. Royal Girl Kacheek was pretty, but, the other pets are.. "ok", "just fine" or "OMG!! What's that??!!" Also, here's how to find the URL of the nice, clean, large version of these pics, so that we can stop posting the ugly grainy ones: ~Go to the Rainbow Pool. Click on the new pet. ~Right click on the small image that pops up of the new pet, choose View image. ~It should bring you to that tiny image of the new pet. ~Replace the last number with a 4. That is the URL for the large image. ~Ta-da! Nice clean image! |

I already like the Tyrannian Zafara better now that it has a nose. It's not a pet I would ever get, but it's not that bad. The feather necklace is cool, I wish it would stand out just a bit more.
As for the Snow Zafara, I find it cute. It's nothing special and as some have mentioned, they should have added some more interesting details, but I still like it. Maybe it's those huge eyes.

That's useful, Komori! ;D I like Zafaras, but the Tyrannian one is kinda bleh. =/ As said before, the spots are too abundant. Maybe they were aiming for leopard spots, but it didn't really work out. I like how he appears to have a head full of hair, with the difference in colour. I don't like the big eyebrows or crooked smile, though. The fangs would have been enough to make it appear primitive. And what's up with that feather necklace? it looks really out of place. I would have rather seen a bone necklace, but I might just be biased. I think the Snow Zafara looks really cute, though. It looks so serene and crisp, just like freshly fallen snow would. (Although I do agree it looks too much like Sketch.) But those eyes... I'd kill for those eyes. Like staring out of a window into a moonlit, snowy night. ^_^ I think the artist just looked for a change in the snow pets, wanted to give them more life. The Xweetok looked the same, and I like the change. Rikku, if that's the hugest eyebrows you've seen, then I assume you've never laid eyes on the Tyrannian Jubjub. (Don't worry, I only make such long posts when it comes to the pets I really like. x3) Off topic edit: I was looking through Sunnyneo's 'old pets' and HOLY YELLOW SNOWCONES WHAT IS THAT?! |

You know, Laurens, that had me going, "Well, maybe they aren't so bad..." until I looked at them again. xDD
And I know I come across as hating all the species and all the colors, but it's more like, I don't find that there are that many representations of a pet that I find particularly interesting and well done. I'm picky, I guess you could say. ^^;

I might buy one in case I want to paint Yanamai snow. Maybe the Desert clothes would go nicely with it. ^^ The Christmas wings are definitely a good fit. |
