'Grats, Scheff! I like the part in your entry about the dark faerie... that seems to tie a few ends together. I have a question, though... what exactly IS the green faerie? She's so massive that she fills up the doorway and her mouth is squished limes? I am afraid I am missing something. Is this all alluding to something else? I know you are just continuing with missjessiegirl's setup, but I didn't get it then, either. At first I thought she was supposed to be Edna in disguise, but now I'm not so sure... If you look at the very top of the storytelling, you'll see a picture. Look familiar? *grin* It's the "Happiness Faerie", who some might know better as Dr. Frank Sloth.

Thanks, Lau. Nimras is right -- the repetition of the mashed limes and giant lips were to connect it to Missjessiegirl's work, but for the green "Faerie's" identity I was going by the description in the first post, and the picture. That's why the Pteri is having some bad side effects from the soup. Actually, I mashed in some limes... er... ideas from my entries for the previous section. I had variously gone with Arley finding the Dark Faerie (and falling down and transforming and waking up there), with Arley being transformed by the soup and waking up in a spaceship hold, and with the soup tasting like "starlight and space" and causing giddy behavior.

HAHA squished limes. xD I read that at half past five this morning and nearly burst out laughing. Serves me right for not getting enough sleep I suppose. Congrats on the win, Scheff!

OH DUH! *Bashes hand onto head* It all makes sense now...

Heh. I guess that is one thing to keep in mind (since we were giving tips) -- sometimes you can get along pretty well in Storytelling without it, but sometimes it helps to be able to catch (or make!) references to plots, other parts of the site, and in this case a random goofy joke. (They actually had the Happiness Faerie briefly in the Gallery of Heroes, didn't they?)
Also, keep the timing recommendations in mind, but don't take them as set in stone. I submitted that one over half an hour late.

For me, the Storytelling Contest is by far the most difficult contest on Neopets. It took me a couple of tries to get in the NT and Poetry Gallery, but well over 40 entries to finally get in the Storytelling Contest. When I finally did, I was shocked beyond belief. And the prize (Maraquan PB) was admittedly a nice bonus. XDD

Yay for Yuka! Congratulations on your first win! ^^ For me, the Storytelling Contest is by far the most difficult contest on Neopets. And the prize (Maraquan PB) was admittedly a nice bonus. XDD Yeah, the prizes can be nice! I got a Snowickle once. Most of the time, though, I get PPBS... I've gotten one PPPB, one Codestone, and four various Paint Brushes. Nothing terribly expensive, but still rather fun prizes to find in your inventory. ^^

Thanks nut! I was really surprised (in a good way ) and, well, a bit weirded out... you see, I had a dream that I won the competition and got a codestone. Guess what I found when I woke up this morning? Yep. xD A codestone!

*smacked by party* Fwa??? This storytelling is shaping up nicely. It's got a plot line that you can follow!

*laughing* That helps, doesn't it? There have been weeks where I spent the entire time with no idea what was going on.

Random stories are fun, but it's more fun when there's a plot to follow. Who wants hornet cakes?

*laughing* That helps, doesn't it? There have been weeks where I spent the entire time with no idea what was going on. No kidding. XD When that heppens to me, I read the story over time after time, trying to make sense of it. I can end up reading it six or seven times before I start to write anything. But we have a nice clear plot this week, which is very nice indeed. ^^ I was suddenly inspired to write a part tonight, so I've submitted a rather long one. ^^ Edit: Congratulations, Schefflera! ^^ Ooh, interesting development. (And NTWF is still pwning this week. Yay! ^^)
