((Jeez these things move fast. On Mondays I can't get on until late, and two whole pages go by? Yeesh.))
Hunter and Glitchio decided to lurk around all around the Manor. Hunter checked upstairs, and Glitchio checked downstairs, having night vision in his helmet. They, like the others, couldn't find anything. Hunter walked back to where Glitchio was coming up... and he was covered in a fog. "Hey Glitch, is your suit overheating?" "Why do you ask?" "Your suit is smoking." "Ah. I grabbed some dry ice out of the bowl. It makes a nice decoration, but also good scientific things. You have magic, but I only have my wits and a thick layer of metallic suit."
Goosh had went missing too. This was becoming frightening. Hunter did not know any of the victims, (he knew of them, more accurately) but two guests were already gone. Glitchio's expression was hidden, and it is usually unreadable anyways.
((Sorry about talking to myself, I didn't have time to set up my characters at the beginning of the RP, and I'm trying to catch up from the last two pages. Oh, and I don't mind being used in the comic, but I'd rather you not use Glitchio, since his design is not set in stone yet.))

"Maybe," she said, "but I kind of agree with Fj0rd. Why go to all that bother, and alert us so obviously to Ikkin's disappearance?"
"Then again," Fj0rd said, "where's Crystal?"

When Crystal disappeared from by the punch bowl, Zylaa shuddered once, uncontrollably. The sound of Kitty returning from the basement did brighten her spirits a little, though, enough to make an observation.
"Whatever's causing these disappearances, " she said to the crowd in the ballroom, "it's not operating by any traditional rules. Crystal vanished from the middle of the party, but Kitty wandered down into the dark and gloomy basement alone-- and came up again alive and making sarcastic comments. That's not supposed to happen."
She considered Celestial's comments about freezing time as well. "That would work. But chronomancy isn't that common-- and we still have the question of why."
((Edit-- Freezing time? The culprit must be Dr. Horrible! O: At any minute we'll hear someone off in the distance breaking into song!))

Ginz stepped into the kitchen after Craig and looked around. It looked just like a normal kitchen, almost disappointingly so. In fact, the whole masion looked pretty ordinary, but it didn't -feel- like it. Maybe it was the recent events, or the stories she had heard about it being haunted, but she felt pretty vulnerable in there.
Ginz shivered instinctively. "I feel as if we were being watched."

"Crystal disappeared from right under our very noses...I know this might sound very absurb but what if she instead of being teleported, was kidnapped when somebody froze time. We couldn't have noticed it at all"
"That could be true, but I think it would be odd for someone to talk to Crystal and one second she's gone and not say anything. Speaking of which, who was the last person to talk to Crystal? I know I didn't talke to her all evening."
Nova pondered for a moment, but a sudden chill made him shiver. He chanted a spell, and he glowed faintly for a moment, then it stopped. He felt warmer already. He looked at the various paintings, and felt like he was being watch. "Somethings going to happen soon.." he thought aloud. "But all we can do is wait it out."

"Kitty! Thank goodness - we thought you might have vanished too!" "Nope not vanished. But if Zylaa's correct, I might have been safer in the basement."
Kitty had not been upstairs for more than a minute and already two people had had shivers run down their spines. Was it a ghost moving through the room? That was silly talk. But there was one thing for certain, nothing like this had ever happened in the NTWF before.
"We need to think outside the box, you guys. We know what mages can do, and this doesn't really seem to match it. There is something we don't know, that we shouldn't know, that will help us figure this out. We already know that we shouldn't know that Goosh has a shadier background than we thought before. And we already know that this house is the most haunted in tabloid town. What else don't we know that we shouldn't know that we need to know?"

As soon as he entered the kitchen, Craig located the vat of special Halloween punch sitting on a countertop. It was surrounded by plates of backup cookies, brownies, cakes, and candies that Goosh had probably been planning to bring out when the goodies ran low in the ballroom. As Craig placed the punch bowl down on the table and began ladling the drink into it, he thought about all the uneaten treats that were still piled on the long party tables. The festive nature of the evening had vanished just like Ikkin when the lights had been cut.
"I feel as if we were being watched."
Craig glanced at Ginz, and then looked around the large kitchen. There was a still life hanging above the large oven, but aside from the painted plate of red and green grapes, the room was as bland as could be expected. "Everyone says this manor is haunted. Don't let it get to you, though."
He continued ladling the punch into the bowl.
"I just hope nothing else has happened in the ballroom since we left..."

Lupehunter was not finished investigating the mansion, so he decided to open a window for further investigation. On the way to a window, he had this nagging feeling that someone or something was watching him, along with the entire group.
After opening a couple of windows with ease, he became slightly suspicious when he felt no air coming in. There had to be some trick to the windows, so he summoned a fireball and threw it out the window. It was quickly dispersed by an invisible barrier. Again, he wrote that detail down in his notepad before returning to the group.
"Guys, if we're thinking of escaping the mansion, we can't. There's definitely a barrier surrounding the mansion, which means that we're trapped inside this mansion." he grimly replied.

"There's definitely a barrier surrounding the mansion, which means that we're trapped inside this mansion."
Fj0rd went over to poke her head out the window herself. "A barrier," she repeated. "Are you sure? I was in the library earlier--when the lights went out, you know? There was definitely a cold draft coming in from somewhere."

"I just hope nothing else has happened in the ballroom since we left..."
"Ooh... maybe they've found some more clues about Ikkin! For all we know, she could be back by now. Or at least Goosh could be." It was Ginz's optimism talking. She knew it was highly unlikely, but she had to hold on to her hope. "Let's go check on everyone there."
Ginz turned around to go back, but as soon as she stepped out of the kitchen, she froze. A few feet away, a pair of electric blue eyes were observing her directly. She gasped and backed away a few steps before realizing it was nothing to fear.
"Celes!" she exclaimed. "I'm so relieved it was you." Ginz got closer and hugged her friend. "You almost gave me a heart attack, I didn't know you were following us."

"Fj0rd, the library you say? Would it be worth checking out? That's pretty weird to have a draft coming from somewhere in a closed off location. Well it's weird to have a draftless building in the first place, but ignoring that."

"I'm going to have to agree with Kitty, but I think there may a secret passage there." "To where? A draftless building cannot just make it's own drafts. Unless..." Kitty paused. "unless it lead somewhere where there were drafts. Such as the outside." "But I'm still wierded out by the whole 'draftless building' thing. Who barricades all the windows of a building? Why would they do that. Unless.... Nah." Kitty shook her head and a shiver ran down her spine. Who was doing this and what were their intentions?

Nova overheard of the barriers outside. He instantly got worried, and tried to teleport inside his house in Tabloid Town. He heard a fizz, a crackle, but that was it. No use.
"We can't teleport out either," he said aloud. "Unless a stronger mage can, but I can't."
He still thought about some things, but no use. "Let's go try the Library, right now it's the only lead we have so far, so let's see if we can find something. Maybe if we pull out a book it can open up a secret passage." he laughed a little, and flew into the hall, half searching for the library, half searching for Ginz.

[glow=red,2,300]((Sorry for being so slow to update, folks. It's been a weird couple days. ^_^ ) "Besides, I've got a heavy punch bowl and a ladle in case anyone tries to jump us.""The punch." Rider grabbed Crystal's abandoned glass. She made a mental note to tell Hunty to draw pills bigger. In the bottom of the glass, mostly gone, was an unidentifiable pill. She watched the very last of it dissolve into the fruit punch, leaving no scent or discoloration. The lipstick marks on the rim of the glass made it clear - Crystal had been drinking from this glass. "There's definitely a barrier surrounding the mansion, which means that we're trapped inside this mansion." Rider didn't remember writing this into the plot, but heck, it was just crazy enough to fit. ^_^ And thus, the fourth wall got a second beating. ((Please keep driving the plot, guys, I'm just being a snarky little jerk for the cheap jokes.)) Rider felt her stomach start tying itself in knots. First poison, now this. They were trapped in a haunted manor in which people were vanishing one by one. She backed into the table, upsetting Crystal's glass. The poison spread over the tablecloth, staining it a deep cherry red. It looked a bit like... Rider tried not to think about it. "Don't touch that tablecloth," she said dumbly. There was something else on the table. Short hairs. Short red hairs. A coincidence, maybe. Ikkin had probably sat at the table before. But it nagged at the back of Rider's mind. She went to sit on a couch nearby. Noticing that the seat was surprisingly hard and lumpy, she lifted the cusions to find a book on poisons. It had the Mage Guild seal on the front, it was evidently from their library. It seemed to have been formally checked out, but there was no signature. [/glow]
