I need some advice on this article...I've got high hopes for it and I want some professional (Or not-so-professional) advice! I really want some help on this article! Please!!! It's about the Neopian Pound...
The Neopian Pound's Terrible Secret...
I was looking through the Neopian Pound one day, searching for a pet with a nice name. I had to get off so my brother could get a computer turn. “5 more clicks” I pleaded. After 5 more searches, I was no closer to finding a pet I wanted in the pound. My brother kicked me off, and there I sat, pondering if the perfect pet could have been right there in the next search I would've done, but I missed it because I had to get off...
If you've ever visited the Pound in search of a pet, you must've noticed that the Neopian Pound is very addictive. To quote C.S Lewis's book, “The Magician's Nephew” 'Or wonder, till it drives you mad, what would have followed, if you had' This saying is true for the Pound. Doesn't it drive you crazy when you have to get off the pound? That baby pet you were looking for could've been right on the next page...I won't go on; the story's too horrible.
Of course, the set-up of the Pound can get very annoying as well. If you see that baby Gelert you've been trying to get for weeks on end appear, it's more likely to be in one of the two side pictures. Then, you have to copy and paste the pet name into the search engine and then click on the pet. My friend once passed up a Baby Lupe because of that. Oh boy, did she feel bad afterward. I ask you, why does the Pound make it so that you can only click on one pet out of three???
It's like teasing an animal in captivity by showing he or she their real habitat and family, but not letting them get past the cage. Come on, does Neopets really expect users to be able to copy and paste a pet name into a search engine and click on the pet in the amount of time it could take a user who, all they have to do is click once? Come on!
Is there more than meets the eye at this “innocent” Neopian Pound? I mean, why is it every pet (except the pets younger than 48 hours old) are always dying of hunger when you take them out of the pound? Honestly, aren't there Neopet Abuse laws? Also, why do you see all the pets sad or crying when you look at the pets not highlighted? There's one happy pet, and two sad pets!
And I don't trust that freaky Techo you see near the Abandoning section. That guy reminds me of Sloth. Speaking of Sloth, is it possible that the Techo near the Pound is somehow related to Sloth? I mean, he is wearing that lab coat over his yellow skin...How can we be sure they aren't brainwashing the animals in the pound?
And what's with those names most of the pets have? I mean, in some cases the pets have good names (Like my friend who found a speckled acara named StarzWishes in the pound...We both like that name:)) How do we know this isn't a secret code given to these pets when they enter Sloth's secret training zone? I mean, the names seem very normal, but Sloth is tricky...how do we know these names aren't inconspicuous so nobody would think twice about them?
Is it more than just the animals? Is there something happening in the pound that we don't know about? Is there more to the pound than behind the iron bars? I don't think we'll ever find out (The yellow Techo at the entrance to the pound was rather reluctant to speak) what is happening, but let me tell you, something fishy is going on there. Of course, if you read my Turdle Racing: Something Sinister? Article, you'll probably remember that I jump to conclusions and tend to think everything has something to do with conspiracies, so this shouldn't be anything new. My friends say I need to get back tor reality and ignore my instincts telling me things are evil...But what if I'm right one of these times?...What if I'm right?...
Thanks for reading! Comments? Opinions? Questions? Things to improve on? Please!
