Oops i think i broke my pencil tool..

i must have done something to it this morning. i'm just adobe photoshop. and it was working fine this morning.. okay.. if i use the pencil tool on any coloured part of my drawing.. it sort of acts like a burn tool..

say i'm using brown on a blue portion. where it's already blue will just get darker, but if i use it in a non-coloured part it will come out brown. now i have to do half of my colouring in mspaint. does anyone know what i did?

I think we have Adobe Photoshop, but I didn't discover it until a week or two ago. And how do you use it? I'm going to kill my brother for him not telling me we have it.
