I like the idea of the post-Fyora day thing - that gives a little more time for all us procrastinators very busy people. Edit: Perhaps in between Fyora day issue (294) and issue 300 would be best as people will not have forgotten Fyora day by then? Maybe 295 or 296. I think 295 would be too soon, one issue after Fyora Day seems a bit too early to me. Maybe 297? That's still pretty close. I just don't think we should do ours directly after Fyora Day.

I don't know, I think 295 or 296 would be good, since doing it right after Fyora Day goes plausibly with the explanation of job-and-holiday-induced stress causing Fyora to step down.

Okay, really, I LOVE this idea and I really want to be a part of it...
But I also don't want the rest of Neopia hunting us down and killing us. Don't you think two huge pranks within months of each other both cause people to want to lynch us and undermine our pranking skillz in the long run?

I don't think they'll lynch us (maybe just imprison us ;D). Hopefully it will appeal to the kind of audience that will find it amusing and take the whole thing as a joke once they realise it is one. I don't think people were too annoyed with the whole "FW" plot once they realised the joke...were they?

I don't think people were too annoyed with the whole "FW" plot once they realised the joke...were they? I am totally clueless in this whole area. I have no idea how long it takes people to forget this kind of thing, and what their reaction will be. I definitely want to see it partly blanketed by some major event, like Fyora Day, just to distract people from its relationship with FW- namely, the NTWF community. A random idea: Maybe as a prop for the whole thing we can spread a rumor that some of the less desirable potential candidates have hired assassins (or a milder version like midnight hair shavers or graffiti artists) to deal with the opposition, and that these assassins/pranksters can be found as Bdome opponents in random events or something like that.

I don't think people were too annoyed with the whole "FW" plot once they realised the joke...were they? I dunno... I just remember a bunch of people saying, "I'm going to KILL TNT if this turns out to be a prank!" a lot on the boards- also, people were really annoyed that they had to explain that it was a prank on the Help Boards in every other thread... I'm totally up for the idea of another NT prank; I just think it will be more successful and will go over better if we wait several months. If we want to get started planning and writing now, sure; we shouldn't submit, however, until people really begin to forget about it. I'm thinking late July-August-ish, to be safe.

Are you sure you want to do the Fyora prank? If she annonces anything again, people WILL get suspicious, especially those fooled by the FW prank. Doing something else might appear more plausible. Maybe Pango Pango (The God from Mystery Island) decides he's had enough of the foolish islanders and the tourists and decides to turn the whole island into a deserted area like Geraptiku, and now the Neopians have to help Jhuidah calm him before it's too late. I dunno, just giving ideas

I dunno, just giving ideas I like that idea Kami. But I also think that readers will be more willing to be involved with something they know a fair bit about. That's to say that I doubt lots of people have even heard of Pango Pango. Perhaps we could think about creating a plot in a land that hasn't been used (plot-wise) for a while. Maybe something to do with Tyrannia or Roo Island? Or perhaps we could even do something revolving around a new Altador Cup for this year?

Creating a new plot would be slippery. Waaaay too similar. I still like the Fyora idea better - after all, she wasn't that much of a big part of Fae-Wars, she barely showed up in any of the submissions, being just the background. This time, she'd be the center.
As for which issue, got an idea last night. June 22nd-23rd, depending on timezones. Summer solstice. A very old magical holiday (second biggest holiday of the year around here, might I add) and a vast turning point in itself. It'd make a nice excuse - we have a Christmas special issue, would be nice to have an opposite special issue in summer. Fyora's reign ends with the reign of sun and blah-blah. Should be issue 297 or so.
...just a thought, mind >>;

Plus, if we wanted to bring it in, it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to create a bit of a backstory: "It all started with the stress generated by the Fyora Day proceedings..." Reasie, I hear you. ^^; At first, when I saw this, I thought, No way, that'd be too cruel. But I think that this is as much a follow-up (although one we hope people won't make the connection with) to FW, and the NT writers are notorious for this kind of thing. If this does go through, these writers are going to need all the support they can get.

Hmmmm.... I like the idea of a second Altador Cup, because there's been some buzz all year.
The Fyora thing still seems a little too obvious. Something more plausible, more subtle, would help make it convincing.

Just thought of something: I don't know if this has been touched upon yet, but what would the fate of the Hidden Tower be? Would it go to Fyora's successor as well (because that would provide some inspiration to take her place as leader of the faeries)?

*gnaws lip*
I still think two months is too soon... Sure, the joke was funny the first time, but there's a fine line between funny and annoying. I think another prank so soon after the first mayhem-causing one would be crossing said line. Waiting three to four weeks would make the prank more effective, make people less annoyed, and give less cause to distrust the NT.

I think that another prank about faerieland won't have the same effect that it did for April Fools. I think it's better if we think of a totally different world that has never had a plot or a major event before, like Krawk Island. If we could think of some kind of conspiracy to do with Krawk Island, I think that would be a lot funnier. ^_^

Yes, I agree. Some people are still angry/annoyed at FW, as I noticed with my friend just today. Another prank so soon would definitely cross the line. And the summer solstice idea is well thought out, but I don't really see how Fyora connects with the sun...
Speaking of the Hidden Tower, if anyone writes an article about the potential successors, there could be some sort of greed for owning the Hidden Tower. Or Fyora could just spend her days there as the Hidden Tower keeper or something, maybe even shut it down and create uproar.
