Under construction.
It was a quiet day in the Pokémon world. Little did the Trainers know that on an abandoned island, experiments with Pokémon DNA were taking place.
The Pokémon were being given Neopets traits. Who is behind these twisted experiments? Virtupets? Team Rocket? The only way to find out is to adopt one of these poor Poképets and explore the world of Kantopia.
How does this work?
Poképets can be adopted by sending me a message. You choose the name, (something that isn't already taken) the color, (from Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, of course) the species, (from the Poképets available) and the gender. You can then buy items for your Poképets with Poképoints, such as clothing and Paint Brushes.
How are Poképets different from Pokémon?
Despite looking just like Pokémon, Poképets have some traits of Neopets. For example, you can put clothing on them and paint them with Paint Brushes. Normal Pokémon only have 2 colors, normal and Shiny, and you can't choose between them. You can also read books to them, feed them, and give them toys. Random events can also occur.
How are Poképets different from Neopets?
Other than the obvious fact that the species are Pokémon, there are new Paint Brushes and clothing items. Also, because of the simplicity, when you are buying a book, you read it to one of your Poképets immediately, and food will be taken from your inventory as soon as your Poképet gets hungry. Toys are "equipped" to Poképets and make them happier depending on what their toy is. Also, until I can find a way for it to make sense, Poképets can't have petpets. The illnesses are actually the status effects from the Pokémon games, and are treated the same way. Random events are also once a day when the news is updated.
How often do you update the news?
Every weekday, just like Neopets. I make a post on this board, and put the most recent news on this post. And while we're on that topic,
the special days are:
Pikachu Day- October 1st (Release date of Pokémon Yellow in North America)
Jigglypuff Day- March 9th (3/9, Jigglypuff's Pokédex number is 39)
Lucario Day- July 16th (Release date of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew in Japan)
Koffing Day- May 13th (My Birthday, seeing as Koffing is my favorite Pokémon)
Poképets Day- May 25th (Day this topic was started)
How to see previews of Poképets
There is a table of Poképets below. If it just has the color and species as a link, just click it to see it. If it has that and then (M/F) as the links, M leads to the Male image, F leads to the Female image. Some species have gender differences. (Currently only Pikachu) If it has (NC/C) as the links, NC leads to the image without the Paint Brush clothing, C leads to the one with it. (Currently only Koffing) More codes will be added as needed.
The Poképets!
How to adopt
Just send me a message using this template. You can have a total of 10 Poképets, but I suggest waiting until more are released. I will either reply with a code to put in your signature, or if you've made a mistake with the form, I will point it out.

Friday, May 30th Well, I've decided that, unless it is a special day, I will now update Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. That gives me more time to prepare. Yes, I realize that I have not done alot of things I said I would on the topic. I'll sort it out this weekend. The Suggest-a-Poképet contest has been extended for another week. |
