Erm, yes. It's a thread of writing a 50,000 word novel by BAG. I have a slight problem. I KNOW I want to do a horror novel, but I'm completley lost when it comes to ideas. All I need is a vague one. Suggestions? (No cliches, lolz)

As long as you throw in misunderstood vampires, misunderstood "emo" high-schoolers, misunderstood undead, and misunderstood male antagonists with long hair and detailed, angsty and painfully lo-o-o-ong backstories, you can be sure to get lots of fangirls. ... On the other hand, if you were actually planning on writing a *good* story... (and in case you were wondering, no i can't do/say anything that's actually useful... I just lie around and make jokes apparently -_-) ... Okay, seriously now... if you really want it to be a good SCARY horror novel, how bout instead of using characters that come from the horror genre by definition (like a vampire or ghost) and thereby just turning your story into a horror one by default, try just having normal characters, and it's the *story* that makes it horrific. Horror doesn't have to mean supernatural. it could just mean events that inspire horror. For example, It's hard to go wrong with a horror-mystery (think ski-lodge murder mystery... or NTWF murder mystery if you prefer.) (Actually, it's EXTREMELY EASY to go wrong with a horror-mystery because there are jillions of tiny ways to fudge it up. But if you make it, you have a really monumentally cool story! ) *realizes she's not helping; runs off to make her own thread*
