Nano just doesn't seem like Nano without chatting occasionally with some of ya NTWFers, so that's why I'm back here posting (for the second time in the Nano section). Anyway... last year Fj0rd and I took it upon ourselves to condense the Nanowrimo challenge into a very odd little (okay, little it was not) project called NaNoWri...Day. 50,000 in a day. We both won, somehow - although a good portion of our stories were not comprehensible. Still, despite the feeling of death in your hands afterwards, it's an awesome warmup for Nano. Especially for first-timers, like Fj0rd was last year. It gives you this feeling-- "I can do this in a day? WELL, a month won't be a problem!" Well, I want to do this again. And thought maybe some of you would like to try. I'd recommend AIMING for 50k, but even if you don't hit it, the story could still be a success. Imagine, all you skeptics of Nano, if you reached 20,000, or even 10,000 in a day! You only need 1668 for Nano. This could give you just the burst of confidence you need. I'm thinking of starting tomorrow afternoon, maybe 2 or 3pm PST. Or if people are preoccupied this weekend (especially with such short notice), and more are free next weekend, we could do it then. So, who's in? ORIGINAL WRIDAY THREAD: ntwriters.proboards53.com/index.cgi?board=Off&action=display&thread=1129331781Carrie

I might actually give this a go XDDD
It'd probably be Herring Potter, to fanservice a few people.

Eep. I can't do that again for a while. An awesome experience but very grueling and all that such. Have a buncha fun.
(And hi Carrie! Haven't talked to you in a while. xP)

Hi Carrie! When I saw this thread title, I was all "OMG they're doing it again? " I'd love to do it, but I think my brain would have a tumor and explode and then there would be little chunks of Sammy brains all over my computer and we don't want that to happen. But in any case, BEST of luck to those who actually do WriDay. =D And a bit off topic: I think the original WriDay thread should be moved to Memory Lane. <3

I'll give it a go but I'm short on time, so I might have to only aim for 25k instead of 50k... Or actually I've got a series I started ages ago and did a couple of hundred words then lost inspiration - I could aim to finish that...
