When the MC, Callum, was a kid (say 15, but I might make it younger when I develop the plot more) their older brother committed suicide by shooting themself.
The gunshot wound appeared self-inflicted; there even was a note.
However, when Callum is an adult (say late 20s, or a bit younger), they find the dead sibling's old journal. Curious, Callum reads the journal. And the last entry suggests that it wasn't a suicide at all. Stupidly, the Callum goes off on a search for the truth-- and the killer.
This could go a bit cliché on me, but I have a nice idea to spirtz it up...I'll tell all when I've made the characters.
