So... This is the first year I've ever attempted NaNoWriMo. I actually didn't even realize it had started until Friday... But better late than never, right?

Well. As of now, I have 1285 words. Not much, and I don't plan on actually making the 50,000 goal, but at least now I have something making me write so I can actually get something down, instead of letting my ideas waste away in my brain.

Well, it's late now, and I'm tired, so I'll try to post a summary or somthing tomorrow. Hopefully my writing will be a little better then, too.

2,764 words! Haha, I know, not much. But I really don't have the time to do the 50,000, and I'm not expecting to get there.. I want to get to 3,000 before I go to bed tonight, though.

I don't have a summary for my story... I'm still working out some of what is going to happen.. but I do have some notes, basic ideas which I thought I'd post. So:

The world this takes place in is somewhat similar to ours, but there are mythical creatures such as centaurs and vampires, though such creatures are outcasts in society. Most people tend to have lower levels of technology, excluding the government.

The government has been working with DNA experimentation to create half breeds, trying to replicate creatures like centaurs, vampires, etc., but are unable to properly do so. They dub their creations 'unnatural' and attempt to 'terminate' them. A sort of underground activist group attempts to stop them, and does help some of the creations escape. A few journalists get wind of it, publish the story, but the government gets angry; the journalists disappear and the story is mostly covered up. One of the main characters is one of these experiments, a girl who is part cat, part human. Her name is Annett and she is struggling, on the run, and has to resort to theivery to sustain herself.

Now for the original main character... A girl named Olivia (but I need to change her name) comes home one day and discovers her parents murdered and her younger sister, Rhiann, gone. A boy her age, Leah, finds her after hearing about it. His twin sister was also kidnapped. They both have mysterious silver pendants, the mark of the underground group their biological parents belonged to (Leah and his sister grew up in an orphanage, Olivia was abandoned at a doorstep). Leah knows the pendants have something to do with what happened, but neither knows the whole story. But the people knew Olivia had a connection to the group, and came after her family. They killed her parents, assuming they also had a connection, and took Rhiann because they thought she was Olivia. Leah and his sister were known to have a connection to the group, and Leah was just lucky to escape. Both leave, on the run from whoever is after them and trying to find out more about their families and want to save their sisters.

Wow.. I wrote a lot. About as much as I wrote on the actual story today. Well, if anyone's read this, any name suggestions? Olivia is just not an Olivia.. it's driving me crazy calling her that. And I need a name for Leah's sister, too.. I thought I had one somewhere, but I think I lost it. Actually, Rhiann isn't Rhiann's real name either... Gah.. I need to figure out where I wrote this stuff down!
