So yeah...You may of seen it on the NaNoWriMo boards...Now it's come to NTWF. =D Any dares to make a story extra wierd, or more exciting? Post it here! Include double points, triple points etc. if you wish! If you take a dare, try to leave one - but if your mind is completely blank, no worries. Try not to take a dare that's already been done. So...Go ahead. =D (If you thought I was bit sketchy, just click here, my sweets.)

Ostensibly, the 'official' Dares thread is here. >.> But either one works. I'll repeat the one I gave the NaNo'ers last year: Include a jar of grape jelly at least five times in your novel. It must physically be there, as in, "I picked up the jar of grape jelly", not as in, "The sunset looked like a giant jar of grape jelly had been smashed over the sky"--even though that would be a pretty awesome line as well. Bonus points if it has some symbolic meaning or if it is a plot element of the story.

How about having a 'word of the day' as well that you have to include in your writing that day? Some suggestions: wheelbarrow gumdrop taxidermy flipper cucumber

Word of the day...?
Dictionary.com actually has a word of the day, so you could sign up for that and use those words as the word of the day.

Dare: Include the phrase "You ATE it?!" somewhere in your story. Extra point: The item that was eaten (or thought to be eaten, if the answer to 'you ate it' is actually 'no') was not food (and I mean, it's not considered food even remotely) Double points: The item was some type of underwear. Triple points: The character being asked the question responds "Yes".
---
Dare: have your character make an extremely bad pun without knowing it. for example (i think this is from 'Pearls Before Swine'):
Character: hello, Satan. Satan: hello, character. We've been having trouble laying the cement on the path outside hell lately. Cahracter: Oh, really? what contractor are you using? Satan: Well, at first it was Calvin Good's company, but then we switched to the Chin brothers. Character: Chin brothers? Satan: Yes, there are twelve of them, and they own a cement-laying business. Character: Oh, so the road to hell is paved by Good and twelve Chins!
Double Points: If the pun is a line of more than ten words (like the example above)

Dare: Use this conversation somewhere in your story character1 (trying to act tough): "I OWN this town!" character2: "You bought the town!??" - Bonus points: if the character actually DID buy the town. Double points: if that ends the plot. OMG! I am totally doing this dare, it fits so much with my story! I'll also accept the dare with the You ATE it?!. =3 I can imagine Mistress yelling that to Terror.

I have one more...
Dare: Have one character die more than once in the course of your story. Double points: If somewhere in your story a cause of death is due to shame. Triple points: If noone else in the story seems to notice the character has died x ammount of times. Quadruple points: If you find a clever and different way to ressurect the character each time. 1 extra point for every one time the character dies and is ressurected in a different way.
