Help me?

WOOT! Block over! ...Oooooooofff course I haven't really written yet, but still! Okay, now I have a general plot idea. Ser is a failure conscience thinks all hope is lost until Marissa appears. Marissa is a quiet tomboy who is sitting in a bookstore reading when she's suddenly transported into the story. Ser is then assigned to help Marissa ((after all, everyone thinks she's crazy)) and it turns into an epic adventure ((or a comedic escapade)) to get Marissa back to the world she belongs. I think that this would be alot easier than what I had planned. And much more fun.

Am I insane? Am I completely and totally insane? I think so. I have forsaken my 500-odd words novel and started over. My last one just wasn't fun to write. So, I saved it and hid it away in the cockles of my computer for later. And I opened a new file and started a new story. I used a charecter I like, created another charecter, and just let it fly. I actually started with a sentence from a story started site. So now, I'm happy, I've got a funny story, and I'm ready to write. 372 down so far...I really gotta catch up.

Right now, it's 10:02. I'm going to do the 3/30/10 exercise that Chris Baty uses in his book. I'll let ya know how it goes!

I'm at 2,719 words. I need to be at 20,004 words. I'm scared. Okay, in all seriousness, I think my story's going well. My only problem s buckling down and writing. I'm so exhausted right now, I'm sickish with a terrible cold. So, writing is really hard, because my head hurts really bad. But I really want to catch up, I might just write longhand and then plug it in into the computer like I've done previously. I need 17,285 words right now. I gotta get typing!

Good luck, Echo! Try and pound out as many words as you possibly can. It doesn't necessairly have to be 17k, but try your hardest to get there. I'll be crossing my fingers for you. And I'm curious. What's the 3/30/10 exercise?

What's the 3/30/10 exercise? It's something Chris Baty wrote about in his book. You do 3 30 minute writing sessions, not stopping for anything ((so you have to find a block of time where no one will interrupt you)) seperated by 10 minute stretching intervals. Then after those three are over, you take a break. Watch some tv, eat. Anything for as long as you want. Then you do it again. And if you want to, again. It's a real word count booster. If you do it three times, you get an estimated 6,000 words to your wordcount. Of course, I only got 1,000, but I'm a slow writer. XD It's really helpful though, you really get into your story.

Interesting exercise. I should try it sometime. ^^ I usually write in a mad rush of a few solid hours with no stretching intervals, so I could probably benefit from a 10 minute break every so often. (I usually write like that when everyone else is asleep and can't interrupt me, though it makes me very tired the next day. )

Well, I don't think that I can reach 50k, but I sure will try. But I will be happy to reach at least 10k. I'll just keep trying!!!!

Go for it, Echo! ^^ 10k is nothing to be ashamed of, either.
