Are you allowed to write off a plotline you've thought up beforehand? Well, I guess it would be pretty hard for them to regulate thoughts before November, so scratch that question. And I must be insane, but I'm not alone! Oh, and I'll give you all three guesses what my username is.

And even if we're NOT, I'm sure nobody would give a darn, so it would be pretty pointless to forbid it. ^_^ *added everyone she was pretty sure of the name to her friend list, including Zylaa* x3

I'll be back for my sophomore year. I hear it's the hardest... we shall see. I was planning on writing a sequel to last year's novel, but my motivation with that has been waning as the event nears-- not a good thing. Then a new idea came to me recently, and right now it looks like I will be going with it instead... but who knows where my mood will be when November finally rolls around? Are you allowed to write off a plotline you've thought up beforehand? Well, I guess it would be pretty hard for them to regulate thoughts before November, so scratch that question. And I must be insane, but I'm not alone! You can do as much advanced planning as you want. Some people make elaborate outlines of their plots, etc. before November. But you can only count what you actually write in November toward your 50,000 words, no matter how much advanced planning you did.

...as a side note, I LOVE the T-shirts and posters for this year. Last year I was neutral, but this year's are AWESOME. ^___^ I would really like to see a close-up of the t-shirt, but as far as I can tell, there isn't one. Even the pics of people wearing them are too distant to get a really good look at it. Come on! I want to see what I'm buying before I pay for it. Forgot to mention, I roped two of my new co-workers into NaNoWriMo. We were chatting and the conversation came around to writing and how they'd like to write novels someday but don't know when they'd ever find the time. The classic NaNoWriMo opening. But now, one of them has mysteriously disappeared-- just suddenly stopped coming into work a week ago and no one can get in contact with her.... hmmm, someone could probably come up with an interesting novel idea out of that....

Yeah, that's frustrating me too. From what I can see of it, though, it's cool.

Well if I end up writing something about a mysterious dissapearing coworker, I'll blame you then. ... Just done the math. To write this, I'll have to average almost seventeen times more what I write daily now. ^_^ I'm gonna die!

We should have a thread in the Writing Groups and Clubs forum. We had one last year, but it died. D:

And I must be insane, but I'm not alone! Oh, and I'll give you all three guesses what my username is. I'm positive that you're allowed to think up of a plot beforehand. However, a lot of the fun of NaNoWriMo comes from the randomness of your story and coming up with crazy, brilliant ideas at the most random times. But some people are more serious about it and actually want to write something that's readable, so in the end, it's up to you. XD

I was pretty frustrated with that too. The t-shirt looked cool, but I'm not going to buy it unless I can see it up close. Hopefully, they'll add a close-up shot of it soon.

It's me!
...
Mr Cow!
...
Uh, I used to post on this forum!
...
Uh, yeah. Well, anyway, I can't stay for long. I could go on talking 'til the cows come home (actually, it looks like I already have) but, long story short, I am entering NaNoWriMo this year. I bought "No Plot? No Problem!" over the summer and wrote a novel in August, so this shouldn't be too hard for me.
Don't get used to my being here. I'm pretty much just here to leave various contact information. My leaving was a bit abrupt, and I didn't even leave an e-mail address. So, anyway, my username on NaNoWriMo is... wait for it... Holycow81. My profile page should have my e-mail address on it.
Unable to think of a funny signature, - Mr. Cow

Urgh D-: I wanna join in with this but everyone says "You can't put a lot of thought into it, you have to just write off the top of your head" and I have to write with a complex plotline in mind... And: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE MR COW
