I couldn't think of a good title. XD;
So I'm going to participate in NaNo again this year. It makes me happy that I have enough time to do it this time. =3
I'm still pretty much clueless of what I'll do. I want to be. I don't want to think of anything until NaNo starts, or at least until it's much closer...
I did get an idea one day, but... I'm not sure about it. It's very strange. XD
Maybe I'll post about it later, but right now my class is over and I have to go. I just wanted to create my thread. *was sneaking in* >>

Today I was writing down a couple of different ideas I had for my NaNo... I wasn't sure about any of them, though, but didn't worry. I decided I'd crate another one even if it was completely random... and then inspiration stroke and I came up with a really cool idea I love. =D The only downside to this is I'm really excited about it now and I'll have to wait a month XD; I hope I'm still this exciting about it when I actually have to start writing. ^^

How sad, my NaNo thread had fallen to the bottom of the page. T__T
I guess I've sort of forgotten about NaNo lately... which might sound bad, but it's actually good for me. If I get really excited about it now, the excitement will have worn off by November. This way it's easier I'll be more motivated about it when the date comes closer.
I have all my NaNo ideas written down in a notebook. I doodled the characters on the borders, too. XD; I'm sure if I read that notebook I'll get back all my motivation. Just thinking of it makes me happy. I'm gonna post a bit about it, but later, because I'm in the middle of procrastinating my homework. XD;;

Okay, now I shall post my idea before I forget (again) >>;
In the public park of a small city, there's an sculpture that has been there for as long as anyone can remember. There are many mysteries surrounding it. No one knows who the artist was or what they meant by it. (It's abstract art) Old people tell stories of how they met the sculptor and how they remember the day the sculpture was put in the park, but none of the stories ever match.
My story will be about a new kid moves to the city and gets fascinated by the sculpture, like everyone else. He has trouble making friends so he spends a lot of time alone in the park thinking of meaning to give the sculpture. One day, another kid challenges him to climb the sculpture. He finally gives in, but falls. There lying on the floor, he spots something no one has seen before. A name engraved into the sculpture. The really strange thing is that it is his own name.
I have other things planned, but I think that's enough for a summary that doesn't give away everything. XD

Oooh, that's an interesting plot Ginz. ^_^ I'll look forward to reading more of the twists and turns in your story once it's finished!
Oh, and today is October 30, so I think it's safe to start getting excited again. ^_~

Thanks, Carrie and Strife! ^_^
Heh, funny you mention reading it, Strife, because my goal for this year's NaNo is to make my story good enough to show others. ^^ It obviously won't be perfect and published-quality, because that's not the point of NaNo and I'm not that good of a writer, but... I want it to be as good as possible so I'm not ashamed to post excerpts, or maybe even the whole thing.
This is because my 2005 NaNo was so Awful (with a capital A) I'd never show it to anyone. XD; It's time for you to show, improvement! ^^
And I am getting excited about NaNo again, indeed! =D I had a dream about NaNo a couple of days ago, but it was very weird. I told Squiesh about it... *goes to find the PM*

Dear NaNo thread:
I know you aren't my diary, but please bear with me. XD
NaNo is a complicated thing... if you start without a plot, you might find out your story goes nowhere at all. You might also wind up with a really awesome story, but that doesn't tend to happen to Ginz.
And if you do have a plot and things planned for it, you might find out although your story is going where you want it to go, it's going in a completely different way than you imagined. The things that you planned are happening, but so are completely new things that make your story have a different feel to it. Sometimes this might be good, but sometimes you stop and wonder how come you can't just write the brilliant story you had in mind and nothing more? XD;
So... yeah. That's what has been happening to me. Also, I've been trying my best to defeat the purpose of NaNo and write a well-written story, but I'm not sure for how long I can go on like that. I think I'm stopping. It's making me fall behind. XD;

I'm having a similar issue myself, although most of my problem is the fact that i've been swamped with schoolwork and have had neither the time nor inspiration needed to catch up. Hopefully my weekend is going to remain free so I can sit down and plow through as many words as possible. It seems that I will need to resist the urge to sit and think about how I want my plot to unfold, and just write what comes spontaneously to my mind.
If it helps, Ginz, think of your story as a strange and wonderful dream you had one night. Dreams rarely follow a logical path and can be very random in some areas, and I guess the same would be true for most NaNo stories out there. xD; Sometimes it helps me think if I lay down, relax my mind, and daydream about my story as though it were some kind of TV show.
In any case, just know that you're not alone in the stuggle, Ginzy. ^_~
