Edit - One way we're going to connect our novels in a similar character. If you want to, add in a character named Enesqu with a white bird on their shoulder. Beyond that, you can alter them to fit into your universe (they can be an elf, or werewolf, or singing tree) however you like. Remember, this character doesn't have to be main; they just be mentioned in one paragraph, or sentence, out of your entire novel.
Still open for more ideas!
I've had this idea for a while, and I thought it might be interesting... xD
What if, in some way, shape, or form, all of our Nanos were related? It wouldn't have to be something big. Maybe a character in my novel mentions a location in yours, or the characters are somehow distant relatives, or live in the same town, or once went to the same shop on vacation. It could be even smaller. But wouldn't that be cool? No one would know; it would be a minor thing. Yet, at the same time, it would provide a cool little NTWF link in all our Nanos. x3
Squiesh and I are maybe going to have our characters attend the same school... but, again, it doesn't have to be large. Just something really teeny and fleeting - it could even just be a sentence.
What do y'all think? XD

I think that's an awesome idea. It would be so cool!
I don't know what my NaNo will be about yet, but for the same reason I have a lot more freedom to do whatever I want and can easily make it related to others. ^_^

That would be teh awesome..I'm still brainstorming but yeah, I think my NaNo would be nice to interconnect with some other Nanos...

Ooh. That would be fun... although probably a bit difficult with genre blending... Mine's set in the future, see XD; And if someone else's is set in the present, or in a fantasy world or something... Haha. Elves and dragons + time travel = no. ^_^;

Haha. Elves and dragons + time travel = no. ^_^; But it can be very, very fleeting. Like a character in a present day novel mentions what they might think the future would be like (referencing your world), or a fantasy character starts talking about your method of time travel hypothetically (maybe committing treason in the process? XD), etc.

Are you suggesting cameos? Because that's an awesome idea ^^ I did camoes of a few NTWFers in my last NaNo, and it would be fun for all of us to do it.
So. If anyone wants to be a cameo in my NaNo, just say so. Anything to help the word-counts! :3

Basically, ANYTHING.

How about a recurring character? I always find that kind of thing interesting. He doesn't have to be anyone big, just a fleeting bit-part in every story, like an ice-cream vendor who sells something to one of the characters in one, and then a guy/girl hanging up a sign in another. Get what I'm talking about? Anyone like that idea?

I like the idea in general. It will be fun.
Puff, the problem with that comes in when you have non-human characters of some sort, or a society where, say, ice cream doesn't exist. So recurring characters probably wouldn't work as well.

They should probably be quite distinctive, so people are aware the same character is recurring. A strange name could be a good part of that. I like the idea in general. It will be fun. Puff, the problem with that comes in when you have non-human characters of some sort, or a society where, say, ice cream doesn't exist. So recurring characters probably wouldn't work as well. That's a good point, Shade. Thing is, though, he's completely adjustable, so if he's in a society where ice-cream doesn't exist, say in a medieval story, he can be a blacksmith instead. I think the same name shouldn't really be a factor, that can be achieved. He should probably have some distinctive features aswell, which could equally be applied to a tree-beast as a human. Unless your story revolves around a tribe of gelatinous blobs, in which case you're in for a bit of trouble.

It should be someone who can be tweaked but has ONE stunning feature. Maybe gorgeous, stunning eyes or something very general. If he's in an elven universe, he's an elf. If he's in a werewolf area, he can be a werewolf. If he's a tree, he can be a tree with pretty eyes. If he's in an all female universe, he's a she. xD;;
The name could be something generally-- maybe an element or something with nature? Wind, or sky, or cold. That should exist in all universes.

It could be the start of a global phenomenon 8D

Ooh, this is a cool idea. A recurring character could probably work. I could do that, easily. <3 Perhaps, as Puff mentioned we should give them a name that really stands out. Like... *thinks* Wywai. Which is a fun name that I got from a name generator once, and have been tempted to use ever since.
