I keep wanting to call him Roxy. *grin*
Seriously, though, he does seem to be capable even if he is full of himself. I like him better both for making himself useful and for getting shown up a couple of times.
But I hope Rourke and Scrap are okay off by themselves putting the boat back together!

I'm interested in seeing what technological rules of Neopia this "tower" may break... None. TNT is writing it. They make the rules, and although this seems to escape a lot of people, the rules for TNT writers and for user submissions to any given contest are not the same. Anyway, if it's a spaceship and if this is actually an "origin of Neopian mutants" plot, it's probably Sloth's anyway. What, Burrow, Sink, and Drain Life? No, they're Faerie abilities. You have to get your Neopet up to an appropriate level and then bless it with a bunch of Earth and Dark Faeries. I'm sure you can look up the exact number somewhere. If they incorporate Sloth in this... Well, I dunno what I'd think. XD At first I'd be glad that he's back, but...he deserves his own plot, and I'd be disappointed if he was a minor character. Plus he just doesn't really fit in to this one. o-0 Guess we'll just have to wait to find out. =P

Giant mootix...? Oh, that's what that thing was XD I didn't even notice. I kept comparing it to the caterpillar in Bug's Life though.

Twenty Neopoints says they'll end up being the ones who have to rescue Roxy and company.

I say spaceship. =3 They didn't quite show its tip, and the way they were describing it as a kind of stone they'd never seen before suggests it might be metal.

The stone looked too shiny to be a stone.. so I'm going with the Sloth theory. *loves Sloth*

This plot reminds me more and more of Conan Doyle's The Lost World. Giant fighting dino--I mean, uh, unknown monsters. >_> And the Lutari's name is Roxton. Go figure.
I love the characters for this plot <3

I know you're excited, but really, Roxy's crew aren't stupid. It's not as if metal doesn't exist in Neopia. Or even as if spaceships haven't been seen before. Even a couple of academics like these would surely know those things when they saw them. Besides which, Sailors often whisper to each other about the old legend of Mad Tongue Murphy, the delirious castaway who was rescued at sea. Some tales say that he was driven mad by his long, lonely days of drifting, while others insist that he was cursed when he landed on a mysterious island, a place he often raved about in his crazed ramblings. The only records of his travels lay in his journal, which has now fallen into the capable hands of Professor Hugo Fairweather, archeolinguist and expert of ancient lore. That would seem to indicate that Murphy was on the island a LONG time ago. Dr. Sloth's first invasion, though I don't know all the details, was less than a decade ago-- definitely within living memory.

HA HA! Lilly shot down Roxy! Yeah, she's one of those "I'm so smart I can't see a pass from a mile away" kind of girl. Sort of like Gadget from "Rescue Rangers." Anyone remember that show?
I like the Sloth theory. Maybe this ship is some kind of escape pod that the Mutants used to get away from Sloth and they crashed on the island, then just started a civilization. Or maybe they're going for a more "Dr. Moroe" thing. Heh, could you imagine a mutant calling Sloth "Father"?

Dr. Sloth's first invasion, though I don't know all the details, was less than a decade ago-- definitely within living memory. Dr. Sloth's "first invasion" was more of a return, is the thing. If you look him up in the Neopedia you'll find that he's apparently been on Neopia longer than the Neopets, though it also states it's unclear how he got there -- and adds "Some say a spaceship!" Also, I'm pretty sure Bumble Beams is on the Space Station. Metal certainly exists elsewhere in Neopia, but most buildings are not constructed entirely of it. An oddly shiny stone that's not like any stone they've ever seen before sounds to me like it could easily be some sort of metal or maybe polymer. This thing isn't necessarily a spaceship -- and it's pretty early, there's a lot of the island left unexplored! -- but it isn't really that ridiculous an idea. *snickers* Granted, that's entirely possible. Rourke certainly seems like the type who can take care of himself.

I don't want Sloth in this plot...i'd rather have an entire plot dedicated to him. However, with the Captain and Scrap saving the others is quite a good theory, but i'll be disappointed if so since it is really predictable.
I'm waiting for a plot that involves all of Neopia in a war, like the Darkest Faerie could have been a fantastic war, but instead they wasted that on a mini-plot. (in another thousand years that opportunity has another chance...) Sloth has another opportunity for this chance, so hopefully they don't waste that too.
Anyway, this plot is still in it's early stages...i hope... and hopefully it will pick up the pace.
