Netwafopia is the name of the island in which the NTWF Game takes place. (If you notice, the letters "Ntwf" appear in the name but are seperated by other letters. Clever me.) The island itself contains a vast array of landscapes, ranging from beaches and tropical areas in the south to snowy mountains and valleys in the north. Because of this, the island is easily divided into different territories that suit the needs of its inhabitants.
Below is a description of each of the "worlds" within the game, along with an outline of the levels that are completed so far as well as ideas for future levels.
KEY:
Purple levels are normal levels, and they contain a sattelite dish that you must destroy.
Green levels are extra levels. They don't need to be completed in order to access a boss level.
Yellow star levels are stations. Unlike other levels, they do not contain sattelite dishes and can be exited by leaving the screen on either side of the level.
Cyan levels are boss levels. In order to access the boss level, all sattelite dishes in a world must be destroyed.
White levels are not completed yet. They are ideas for levels that could be added to the game.
Lumina Villa (Town World)
Located roughly in the center of the island, the town of Lumina Villa is the central area of commerce. It is located next to the island's main docking port, so people travelling to Netwafopia can easilly access it.
Lumina Villa is absolutely essential to the life and economy of the island, and it also serves as a safe haven if anyone is attacked by monsters. Because of this, there is a shield generator located in the center of the town, which protects the town with a protective, invisible barrier. During vacation time, Ikkin maintains the shield and also serves as a heavily armed guard if the shield happens to malfunction.
The levels in the town are some of the easiest in the game, and their purpose is for the player to get used to the controls. Several different characters will also help you by giving you advice.
Level01: Warm Welcoming (trophy) (The first level of the game. Teaches the player how to jump, dash, and attack.)
Level02: Newbie Road (Teaches the player about item boxes.)
Station: Marketplace (Here, the player can find a minigame or two and spend Shinies on various things.)
Level03: Central Park
Level04: Apartment Complex (A completely vertical level.)
Level05: Moonlight Avenue (trophy) (A night-time level. Here, Nina asks the player to find and catch her lost Weewoo in exchange for a trophy.)
Level06: Town Square (Here, a cutscene takes place where the town square is overrun by NSQ clones. The player must fight NSQ.)
Overworld Map
When the player is not located in any of the main worlds, they appear on a larger-scale map that details the entire island of Netwafopia.
On the overworld map, the player can find certain monsters wandering around. Touching them will throw the player into the center of a small level, and defeating all of the monsters in the level will earn them Shinies.
Level07: Way to the Bay (Can be found on a path leading to the beach/underwater world.)
Minigame: The Caffeine 500
Level08: Rockfall path (Can be found on a path leading to the forest world. Introduces the player to switches.)
Level09: The Overgrowth (A level that leads further to the forest world, taking place during sunset. It would teach the player how to pickup arrows/orbs.)
Level??: Silo Cliffs (Located next to the edge of the island, this level leads towards Grapestar Refinery.)
Level??: Bridge Walk (A steel bridge that crosses over water. There is a giant tank here that is blocking the way. The tank can only be harmed by rockets, so the player will need to find some in order to continue.)
Level??: Hiker's Way (A steep, mountainous area that leads to the Hyouden Valley.)
Level??: Emo Swamp West (A rainy, muddy swamp with powerful monsters.)
Level??: Emo Swamp Crossing
Level??: Emo Swamp East
Station: Pink Emo Corner (A sanctary for the mysterious people that roam the Emo Swamp. Apparently, somebody has colored the walls of the sanctuary pink to try and cheer them up.)
Dungeon: Phoenix Tower (Located next to the Hyouden Valley. This dungeon is extremely difficult, but completing it will give you access to the Jade Phoenix. You can ride the pheonix across the overworld map to get to places must faster.)
Forest of Amrak (Forest World)
Of all the worlds, the Forest of Amrak covers the most surface on the island. Despite its large size, however, most of the forest is too dense for travelling, and only a few key paths were contructed to help travelers reach the other territories of the island. To help travellers find their way around these paths, the Tower of the Emeralds was contructed as a sort of "lighthouse" that people could use to guide themselves through the dense trees.
During vacation time, the emerald priestess Tess spends most of her time within the tower directing people across the forest surface. Outside of vacation time, the tower is left unattended, causing all sorts of vines and vegetation to grow inside of it.
Level10: Enter the Forest
Level11: Simplewood
Level12: Switchpad Grove (trophy) (Plenty of switches and stuff here.)
Level13: Forest Canopy (trophy) (Located near the top of the forest. Most noticeably, there are swinging vines and Bird Bombs here, and giant plants that spit you high into the air where many shinies are located.)
Level14: Fungus Fight (Boss battle against a giant snail.)
Level15: Aurora Grove (trophy) (Located near the top of the forest. There are green fireballs, spider webs, and cookies here.)
Level16: Bug House (In this level, the sattelite dish is right next to the player, but blocked by green switch blocks. The player must climb to the top of the level and flip the switch, then make their way back down.)
Dungeon: Tower of the Emeralds (A tower with green leaves and vines on the walls. Among the elements in this dungeon are green fireballs, rotating spiked balls, and ceiling crushers. Tess is the boss of the dungeon, who takes the form of a giant ghost/wraith.)
Level17: Androids Attack! (Secret level that takes place during a thunderstorm. Very difficult, with mostly robotic enemies.)
Terra Bay (Underwater World)
Terra Bay is one of the more popular vacation spots on the island, and because of this, a second town known simply as Terra Bay Town has sprouted up within it. Unlike Lumina Villa, however, it is not protected by shielding, and monsters such as Snaps and Piranha Crows have been known to cause problems with the inhabitants. During vacation time, other areas of the island, even Lumina Villa, seem empty in comparison to the traffic in Terra Bay.
One of the main things that attracts people to Terra Bay is its clean, warm water. No other water on the island is known to be safe for swimming, mostly due to the jelly and scrap metal around Grapestar Refinery and the freezing cold temperatures of the water in the Hyouden Valley. There is a decent variety of fish and underwater creatures; Usually they coexist peacefully, but the recent problems on Netwafopia have caused some of the fish to attack each other (much to the amusement of some people).
Terra Bay is also home to a group of mermaids, who often hide themselves in an underwater dungeon known as the Castle of the Meefish. Occasionally, however, they come to the surface during vacation time to socialize, and to help people from drowning by giving them air bubbles.
Station: Terra Bay Town (This town would contain a shop that allows you to purchase Scales, which will increase the amount of time you can breathe underwater. Also, there would possibly be a "breakout" minigame where you'd use a parasol as a bat, bouncing a ball and smashing floating blocks.)
Level18: Dry Shoreline (A mostly flat level.)
Level19: A Little Wet (This level explains more about swimming. There are mermaid NPC's in the water who will swim over and give you air bubbles if you're close to drowning.)
Level20: Sand Castle (A level with many brick walls and platforms, as well as waterfalls and an underground cave).
Minigame: Huggsy's Fishing Shop
Level21: Island Hopping (About half of the level is underwater. The Sticky Arrow/Spin Attack powerup must be used to complete it.)
Level22: The Reef (Completely underwater level. There are air pockets and some dry places the player can reach to get some air.)
Level23: Deep Dive (Completely vertical level. It's very deep with few air bubbles, so you'll need to have either the Gold or Platinum Scales in order to reach the bottom without drowning. Not required to access the boss level.)
Level24: Underwater Cave (Located just before the dungeon, the player will need to navigate through various water tunnels in order to reach the exit.)
Dungeon: Castle of the Meefish (This dungeon contains switches that allow you to raise or lower the water level, which is needed to get to higher places or to clear up blocked passages. In order to progress, the player must rescue mermaids from prison cages, who will reward the player with keys.)
Grapestar Refinery (Jelly/Industrial World)
Grapestar Refinery is a large factory that produces many of the items used in the town of Lumina Villa, and it also produces some items that are later transported to Photon City. The refinery was zoned into place by a group of businessmen from Photon City.
For a while, there was some heated controversy over the construction of the refinery and what damage its pollution would cause to Netwafopia. However, the island's inhabitants eventually came to an agreement and approved its construction, as long as the refinery was environmentally friendly. To achieve this, the workers at Grapestar Refinery use a gelatin-like substance (which everyone simply calls "jelly") as fuel to operate their machinery.
The workers in the refinery barely have any contact with the rest of the island, and they spend all of their time indoors. Every now and then, Thundy is sent over to the refinery as a chief health inspector to make sure that everything is operating smoothly. However, after the strange monster attacks began on Netwafopia, Thundy did not return from his latest visit to the refinery, and some people reported sightings of military weapons and vehicles being constructed within it.
Level??: Agility Facility (Referred to as Blinking Light District in alpha 5 and below.)
Level??: Drainage Control Station
Upon completing the above two levels, the jelly blocking the entrance to the inside of the refinery is cleared away.
Level??: Sector RED (Conveyor belts, fire)
Level??: Sector BLUE (Jelly, springs, GS guards)
Minigame: Crane Game (The player moves an electric crane around to try and pick up items from a conveyor belt.)
Level??: Sector YELLOW (Electric bolts, laser beams)
Level??: Waste Tunnels (A maze-like level that is difficult to navigate. Clearing this level will cause some of the blocked paths in the refinery to open.)
Level??: Sector GREEN (Jelly floors and ceilings, metal crushers)
Level??: War Zone (In this level, Thundy appears in a helicopter in the background, launching missles from the sky into the foreground. At the end of the level, he flies into the foreground to attack as a boss.)
Hyouden Valley (Snow/Ninja World)
Hyouden Valley, located at the northernmost point of the island, is a snowy landscape with jagged hillsides and giant crystals. As one might imagine, the weather is extremely cold, and the inhabitants of Netwafopia don't explore it much.
The valley is known by some to be the secret hideout of a ninja clan, led by a notorious assassin by the name of Hu. However, their fortress is concealed within the tundra wastelands by a magic spell so that no average traveler can find it. If someone happens to stumble upon it, they rarely leave alive... or without joining the ninja clan.
After the myserious monster attacks began on Netwafopia, something bizarre happened to the crystal structures around Hyouden Valley. They began to emit some kind of radiation that immediately killed off the entire valley's penguin population. But what's even more bizarre, is that the same radiation reanimated them as zombie-like creatures, hiding in the ground until they smell the flesh of passing travelers.
Level??: Tundra Wasteland (An enormous level. There are a very large number of zombie penguins burrowed underground as well as some tree monsters, and they will promptly spring up and attack when the player approaches. Completing this level will cause the path to the ninja fortress to be revealed.)
Station: Wise Man's House (The wise man will sell you some items, and also put you through a a few tests/minigames to test your sight and reaction time.)
Level??: Iceberg Lake (About half the level takes place underwater.)
Level??: Gemstone Pocket (Possibly accessed by a secret exit in Iceberg Lake. Takes place inside a cave with shimmering crystals and such.)
Level??: Frosty Hills (There is light snowfall here, as well as stone paths and frozen banzai trees.)
Level??: Scout Tower
Level??: Crystal Cavern (Takes place inside a cave with shimmering crystals and such, leading to a back entrance to the ninja fortress. There are some ninja guards here as well as many crystal-shaped enemies.)
Level??: Underground Storage Area
Dungeon: The Ninja Fortress (A pagoda-themed dungeon. Among the traps here are spiked walls, arrow launchers, stone statues that come to life, and areas where the player is engulfed in a pile of ninja soldiers. On the roof of the fortress, a snow/thunder storm develops, and the player must battle Hu, a particularly difficult boss with fast attacks.)
Seedyport (Pirate World)
The town of Seedyport has always been a bit of a mystery... except to pirates, thieves, and other characters of a seedy, swashbuckling nature (hence the name of the town). Because most people simply can't bear the foul stench and sadness of the Emo Swamp, pirates have been able to rule the town unopposed, and they often visit to hide from the law, rest, or simply count their booty.
However, since the strange occurances on the main island, nobody has entered or left Seedyport. Pirates are rarely afraid of anything, so something huge must have happened to make them act this way...
Level??: Marketplace
Level??: Main Street
Level??: The Docks
Station: The Black Something (This ship, piloted by a crew of pirates, takes the player to the rocky shores outside Photon City.)
Photon City (Futuristic/Space World)
Photon City is not located in the island of Netwafobia, but on a seperate continent known as the Mainland. It's a bustling metropolis that contains the planet's most advanced technology, which sometimes is almost indistinguishable from magic. To travel to it from Netwafopia, one must either set sail or find some way of flying.
In the center of the city is the tower of Stalos HQ. Stalos HQ is government association that protects the city by monitoring and investigating criminal activities. In addition, they also have the power to grant permission to alien spaceships to land on the surface of the planet. In this sense, they're the NTWF equivalent of the Men in Black.
Some of Netwafopia's technology came from Photon City, such as the shielding that protects Lumina Villa. Generally though, Netwafopia keeps a safe distance from Photon City's techno whims in order to retain the natural beauty of the island.
Station: Rocky Shores (The Black Something is located here, which will return the player to Netwafopia on demand.)
Level??: Tourist Attraction
Level??: Downtown Madness
Level??: Proto-Park (A theme park of sorts, with all sorts of obstacles including springs, teleporters, rotating platforms, vacuum tubes, carts, and roller coasters.)
Level??: Rocket Gardens
Level??: Highway of Doom (A largely flat level, with a red sky and many powerful types of monsters.)
Dungeon: Stalos HQ (The player begins this level trapped inside the HQ building with only one heart in their life meter, and their only goal is to escape. Once they escape, they cannot return because the building is too heavily guarded. However, something in the storyline allows them to pass through the defenses and return later in the game.)
Below is a description of each of the "worlds" within the game, along with an outline of the levels that are completed so far as well as ideas for future levels.
KEY:
Purple levels are normal levels, and they contain a sattelite dish that you must destroy.
