Hmmm... Platinum actually looks pretty awesome. I wasn't planning on buying it but after seeing some of the new stuff they've added, I'm really tempted. But it comes out like...NOT SOON. D: March 22, 2009 isn't that long of a wait... >_> I plan on starting out with Turtwig or Chimchar this time instead of Piplup. =D

Bleh, I already have Diamond. Picking up Platinum is just a waste of money, even if it does have some new features that probably should've been in D/P in the first place. DX

DX Well, it isn't in my opinion. It's a new opportunity for distraction from reality, which is the purpose of video games. You could write them all off as wastes of money, really.

XD I usually don't, nowadays. Bleh, I already have Diamond. I'd probably think it's a waste of money if it was anything other than Pokemon, but, well, I really like Pokemon, so I'm willing to spend my money on moar entertainment. x3 Hmmm... It's a waste of money because it's the same game experience but with a few extra features. =P If I had the money, I'd probably buy it. but unfortunately, I'm poor. =P

But this one seems to have like a band new half. I mean come on... MINI-GAMES!! I miss those from studium 2

It's a waste of money because it's the same game experience but with a few extra features. =P If I had the money, I'd probably buy it. I'm guessing Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald where wastes of money then, as well? Only asking your opinion on them, mind you. xD;
Every single Pokémon game is the same experience, but usually in a new place with new people. Even if you've never played one of the set's games before, you'll pretty much know what to do if you've played even one of them in the past:
save professor, catch Pokémon, train, beat gym leaders, stop some evil group from ruining the planet, beat Elite Four, catch all Pokémon, trade for ones which are unavailable to your region.
So saying it's a waste of money because it's the same thing, but with new stuff, is like saying every game after Red/Blue/Green was a waste of money, when technically, they all are. xDSame here. [> _ >;]
I think the new Rotoms are… Uhh, I think they're… Okay, what? Dx Kind of neat, and I do like the Frost form, but I would have preferred less random versions. Also: needs moar windmill. D8

Clocky, you know what I mean. and you know that what I'm saying about the extra versions of Pokemon are not the same as the difference between sequels.
(extreme example) With your logic, Diamond is exactly the same gameplay as Red with only a few minor upgrades? I think not. They are both unique gaming experiences. Same series, different game. I have nothing against true sequels. I'm a fan of Dynasty Warriors, afterall. XD
but they keep rehashing the current game with a few minor features that could've been saved for a true sequel instead of a updated version of the current game.... and they release it for $70 and call it Pokemon *insert complementary colour/gem/whatever here*
It's a cash-grabbing scheme that they've been doing since Yellow... and I don't like it. XD
and for the record, I never bothered buying Yellow, Crystal or Emerald. =P

You know, I had a sneaking suspicion… xD

I was not trying to debate, you know. XO I was just throwing out my opinion. XD

[> . >;] Or perhaps this is just a discussion? Same here, but my affinity for debates makes me very eager in doing so. [. _ .]Clocky, you know what I mean. and you know that what I'm saying about the extra versions of Pokemon are not the same as the difference between sequels. (extreme example) With your logic, Diamond is exactly the same gameplay as Red with only a few minor upgrades? I think not. They are both unique gaming experiences. Same series, different game. I don't think I said they were only minor upgrades. Uhh, did I? [> . >] *Tired* Besides, the basic plot line, which I included, is the same. The graphics, sound, and length might have had an upgrade, but what you have to do still stays the same throughout each one.70$? Not here. xD The DS games only cost 30$.
Yes, it's a cash–grabbing scheme, but the third installment of the group usually offers at least something that makes it a little bit worth the buy. I'm not arguing that it's not a bit annoying at times.
I really shouldn't be trying to have a debate/discussion right now, I'm totally out of it tired. xD

Platinum has a lot of tweaks, even to the storyline. So it's not JUST a full-fledged copy with a Battle Frontier and a couple of cool perkz added on at the end. :3 But I agree that THEY RIP OUR MONEY FROM US AND IT MAKES BABY SQUIESH CRY. D:
But it works and for the most part is worth it (IHOPE). lolol.
Crystal didn't have enough new stuff to be worth the buy, imo. I think the only reason I bought it was 'cause you got to be a girl. That was huge, back then.
I dunno about Emerald, cuz I didn't get it. But Platinum looks sweeeeet. <3

The word "debate" can mean a few things ranging from "a formal contest in which the affirmative and negative sides of a proposition are advocated by opposing speakers." to... "to engage in formal argumentation or disputation with (another person, group, etc.)"
Those types of debates I don't enjoy. My post wasn't an open invite to try to prove me wrong. XD
Anyway... I don't think you're understanding what I'm trying to define as being the same game and being a sequel/different experience. This is exactly why this conversation is pointless. XD (I was saying they were minor upgrades. In the cases of Yellow, Crystal and Emerald)
What I mean by "it's the same game but with barely important added junk that I don't think is worth another purchase of the game I've already bought and played/beaten."
Pokemon Yellow. It was basically Pokemon Red/Blue 2.0 BASICALLY: You got a Pikachu instead of the starter Pokemon... and it followed you around. They fixed some glitches (M/glitch city) and added/changed some NPCs (the ones who give you Charmander/Bulbasaur/Squirtle) and some text. There was nothing in Pokemon Yellow that I haven't already done in Red/Blue. Sure, the fact that you could see how happy your Pikachu is is cute, but it's not a big gameplay change, just a useless cute feature. Pretty simply... you could hack Red/Blue to make you start with Pikachu and mess with some NPCs... and there's Pokemon Yellow!
What I mean by "A true sequel."
Pokemon Gold/Silver. It was a sequel to Red/Blue. Added new graphics and many new Pokemon. You're in the Pokemon world, but you are a different trainer in a new continent. New paths to follow, new mini-quests, new items, various new features, day/night, different Gyms, different strategies in team building, shinies, Dark and Steel types added, new attacks, etc... This is a completely different game from the previous, it is a new experience to play through. It may be the same series, but it is not the same game.
Does it make sense now? XD If not, that took too long to type and I'm not going to try to explain any further. XDXD
Actually, you're right, Wii and Playstation games are $70... I think DS games are about $40-50. but that's still way expensive for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl 2.0 (for ME. I need to choose my games wisely. I don't have money to throw around. XD There are other games I'd rather own.)
I'm sure many people think the new features are worth the buy... (if nobody ever bought them, Nintendo would never get away with rehashing a third installment for every Pokemon series.) but I don't. That is what I was saying in my first post. XD

Uh..I'm pretty sure Clocky got it. No need to reiterate XD
I think we were just trying to defend it not being "a waste of money" D:
Being told you're going to buy something that's a waste of money, you kind of want to defend it. But there's nothing really left to discuss, so, um. Yeah. YAY. *hands out cake*
