My brother used infinite Rare Candies to get his entire Blue lineup to lv. 100. Now his Hall Of Fame has all sorts of amusing glitched-up pokemon, the best being a "BIRD/NORMAL" type. Nothing to worry about, that's just from seeing 'M (or Missingno in Red version) When you encounter Missingno, the game duplicates the item in your sixth slot, and glitches up your HoF. Bird/Normal is also 'M's type. "Bird" most likely being a beta type that was replaced by "Flying" XD glitch Pokemon info: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/GlitchYeah, I know. He ended up cheating to fill his pokedex. Very nice save file. xD

Just the other day a friend and I were talking about what would make the best pokemon game. It would include all four regions plus the regions from Collusium, XD Gale of Darkness, and Ranger. Not only that but you would be able to choose which region you started out in and you could travel to all six regions ((Kanto, Johto, Hoen, Orre, Fiore, and Sinnoh respectively)). You would also get to choose between being either a breder, watcher, co-ordinator, professor in training, gym leader in training, ranger, etc. As for starters you could choose any nonevolved basic pokemon as a starter. Plus the plot would be that someone has scrwed with narture causing all pokemon to turn against you accept the pokemon you own and you progress through the game being attacked by pokemon and pokemorpjhs and only pokemon you have trusting you. Plus you wouldn't have a rival and up until the third gym, you'd only be able to use your starter. That and the battle system would be completely wireless with no wifi involved. And there are three versions. Topaz being the gameboy version, Onix being the Wii version, and Opal being the DS version. Yep. Would be the ultimate pokemon game.

I guess that would be the longest Pokemon game ever, and I'm not about to dis extra playtime, but the areas in Colosseum seriously sucked. >> Also, I can't help but remember how badly this turned out the last time Nintendo tried something like this (Gold/Silver/Crystal). Kanto was just... pathetic. I think it would just be way too hard to keep a game going with that many areas and still make it a challenge, and all those gimmicks seem like an overload. (I really don't know how you'd make the gameplay work for everyone if there were so many different options on how you played that game. Sounds like it would be a nightmare to program.) Although I do like the idea of only being able to use your starter up until the third gym (but I think those rules should be self-enforced challenges rather than mandatory, because if they're part of the game, the game will just be made easier to allow you to easily beat the gyms with any one pokemon.)

I agree with Salamander. XD
The idea that you can choose your region would be nice...and It'd be great if you could choose any starter, but I think it'd be best that you could only starters from that region you chose.
Not being able to catch any Pokemon for a long time doesn't appeal to me, I think its best to stick with the original idea of Pokemon...to catch as many as possible. Travelling between the different regions should be easy (like with FLY, or SURF or another bullet train XD) and each region should have its own independant story, meaning that no matter where you start, you'd get to play out each region's story.
Your rival would be determined by where you start, though... or should you get a rival for each region, as part of the story? xD That'd be more realistic. You're bound to have a new rival no matter where you go!
and each starter should be available by other means once you've chosen your region/starter. but they should be difficult to obtain. (like, you have to climb a battle tower with one Pokemon only, and when you reach the top it gives a random item that may be a rare Pokemon (eevee? XD) or a starter from one of the regions. Then sends you back to the bottom, and you have to climb it again to get another prize)

That would be nice. Although I think that it would be best to not obtain the starters through some sort of challenge, but instead you choose one per Region and they match your first starters lvl.

That would be nice. Although I think that it would be best to not obtain the starters through some sort of challenge, but instead you choose one per Region and they match your first starters lvl. By 'match your first starter's level,' do you mean they would be the same level your starter was originally, or the same level your starter is at that point in the game? Because I think it would be horribly cheap if they were the same level as your starter has been trained to. I mean, you have all these idiots who train only their starter, and they end up with lv. 80 starter or something and then their next highest level is lv. 40 and then bunch of worthless lv. 20's maybe. It's pathetic. If you made the new starter's level depend on the first one's, they'd just end up with two overpowered pokemon. Even if they did train evenly, I think that would still be messed up. They'd be so far in the game, they'd already have a full line-up. I just really don't think you can add a pokemon to your line-up at that point. Better if, say, you had to start over with a new, low-level starter but maybe retained a few items from the previous part of your quest. Also, think about all the training that new starter would have missed. Starting a pokemon at a high level is a horrible waste - just look at the lv. 70 versions of Ho-Oh and Lugia. Blah.

Now that I think about it I think you're right. Maybe you should have to start with a completely fresh team whenever you enter a new region for the first time. Once you finish each region's Elite Four you would be able to use your pokemon in other regions that have been completed.

A Pokémon MMORPG would be insane. XD Making it an action RPG could be pretty cool, but it'd totally change Pokémon's whole formula if they took some focus off the stats.
... Oh, right, and I'd like to join this club. :3
I just started a project to try drawing all the Pokémon, one per day for the next year and a half or so. XD This is going to keep me busy.

Oh yeah, and then Pikachu can KO a Rhydon by aiming for the horn. X3 The only problem I see with an Action RPG Pokemon game is with Double Battles. Good luck with that. >.>
