Or you could buy the real game instead. It possible he (or someone else in his house) already has the game for real and he just likes to play it on his computer. It's actually legal to play it on an emulator , when you have the actual, physical cartridge (here anyways). ...or I think it is. After the thing with Cleanflix, I'm not so sure... but then again, the main complaint was that they were editing the DVDs (taking stuff out), and the downloadable carts are usually unaltered. So in that case, it shouldn't be a problem. That only works if he ripped the file from his cartridge. If its a download, its illegal. >.>

And a Pokemon Club wouldn't be complete without mention of the manga. Who here reads Pokemon Special/ Adventure or a modified version called THE BEST OF POKEMON ADVENTURES? Um... I think I read a pokemon comic book when I was like five? Once? Maybe? >>;

It all boils down to the downloader on whether he has it on his collection or not. And don't worry, guys. Technically, I have an original of the game. Too bad the save file is my brother's, so I have to use a ROM file to have one myself.

Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game?There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet. No. It means that it's illegal to download Roms from the net regardless of whether you own the game or not.

Pokemon rawks! >D *is so joining*
I pretty much phailed at all Pokemon games. >.> Except Gold. In Gold I pwned. My shiny Dragonite, Espeon and Steelix totalled everything. I had all the Pokemon except Celebi.
And then I lost it. ;-;

*joins*
Well, pretty much everyone loved Gold/Silver/Crystal era. I still believe it to be the best since it was the height of Pokemon popularity.
My internal battery in Silver died...I lost everything...although I still have the game -_-,
