This is an idea I've been entertaining for some time...a club for those NTWFers currently enrolled in the hallowed halls of higher education. Discuss university woes, joys, etc. here! To join, post and try to include your major. If you want to request a title (see the member list for what I mean), do so. If not, I'll make one for you...muahahaha...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm studying Computer Science at INTI Penang. XD
But title request? *puzzled*
Woes... Higher level math.
Joys: many, many friends! =D Even if most of them are male. There isn't a single girl in my computer class but me, I swear.

Currently enrolled at Murdoch, Australia. Doing a double major in Games Technology and English & Creative Arts.
Joys: Possibly having a three day week this semester. Awesomely huge library. Kendo.
Woes: The near-impossibility of getting a scholarship in Australia. Being separated from my loved one.

Thank goodness a club like this has appeared. Now I can disturb other people with my college woes. XD
Let's see...I'm a junior Communications major (track in Journalism) at my university.
My current big-time woe: a five-page proposal for communication research. Shouldn't be too hard, right?
Wrong. ;_;
The joys? Writing for the school paper (or rather the paper's online version), volunteering for socially-oriented activities, philosophy, control of (not necessarily free) time, and hanging out with friends. ^__^

[shadow=purple,left,300]Ooh, 'bout time we had one of these! XDDD
I'm a freshman majoring in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts, in my univ.
Joys - I've found an awesome anime/manga organization, and I've made lots of friends there! =D
Woes - Man, the pressure. And the work. Yeah, pretty much still adjusting to the work. T_T Even in the org, I've got work. Did I mention that we still have PE? >_>;;; Yeech.[/shadow]

Wow! I forgot about this for a couple days. I'm surprised we already have members! [shadow=purple,left,300]Woes - Man, the pressure. And the work. Yeah, pretty much still adjusting to the work. T_T Even in the org, I've got work. Did I mention that we still have PE? >_>;;; Yeech.[/shadow] You...still have PE?! Good lord. University PE locker room banter: "So, like, I was at this party at Pi Kappa Kappa the other night, right? And, like, this guy, like, totally came up and threw a chicken at me. Like, a LIVE chicken!" *Cough* My imagination got off its leash again. Anyway, yeah...my biggest woe will be much, much less net time. It's not really a choice, I have to do it if I want to get my grades back up. My joys...I can go to capoeira regularly again, and I have a friend who's starting on it as well! I wanna try out for the honors college play...oh! And I'm in a class that sounds so much fun: astrobiology. Studying the possiblity of life on other planets. Crystal asked what I meant by titles. In other clubs, members are given witty little ranks and such. I need to figure out what to do for that. What I have so far are these: Fraze: Hungry Hungry Honors Student Nick: Lawlsy Lawhound Crystal: Castrating Computer Creator Kit: Flirting Major Belle: Underwater Communications Kat: Psych(o)taku

[shadow=purple,left,300]PE will probably gone next year...hopefully. >____> *stabs it* Stupid requirement. Hah, I misread Kit's name as mine and mistook myself for the Flirting Major. XDDDDDD But I prefer my own title. Anyhow, I'm absent from classes today. Woke up and everything spun around me, my head hurt, and I felt nauseous. T_T[/shadow]

Still, it should be fun. :3

Ooh, I'll join! I'm studying textile design. ^_^
This semester I didn't put a lot of classes in my schedule, so it shouldn't be so tough. I'm still worrying thinking I should have taken at least one more, though. Anyway, I'm looking forward to what I hope will be a nice, not too hard semester. I'll make up for it next time. >>;

Oooooh, I join, I join! (Though honestly, art college is pretty much as far from a 'university' environment as you possibly can get.) A title would also be so spiffy! :3 This is my Senior year at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I'm majoring in Animation with a minor in Sequential Art. Yes, sequential art means I'm paying money for people to teach me how to draw comic books. ;D Last quarter's professor used to draw Spiderman comics. And my other class last quarter was taught by the director of Delgo. I don't have to go back to SCAD 'til September, but I'm looking forward to it. I love that school so much. <3 My current woe is trying to finish my senior animation up to a level where I can complete it for Senior Animation II, my upcoming fall course. It'll be quite the challenge. My always-a-woe is how much my relatives think I'm taking a slack major at a slack school. Oh, art school, it's so easy. It doesn't help my defense that we have three-day weekends, only 3 classes per quarter, and our winter vacation lasts from Thanksgiving in November to New Year's. They (and my high-school friends in liberal arts colleges) can't fathom that my midterm project involved drawing rodeo clowns being hit by a sports car. They can't belive that my senior thesis project requires that I draw many, many images of a little bunny magician. It all seems so ridiculous to them, and I guess when I say it, it sounds so easy. Do they realize how much work really goes into art classes? No. They think I'm spending my free-Fridays goofing off or playing video games, when I'm really working my tail-bone off at Montgomery Hall from morning 'til 4 in the morning. Do they realize a 'cartoon' takes work? No, because it looks so cute and easy. They don't realize that a short that takes a minute and a half requires 1000-2000 individual drawings. Ai yi yi. My joy? Being able to go back to a school where all of my friends have the exact same problems with their families. X3 Also, I'm going to be taking Cartooning, a course I've been looking forward to for years now. I looooove drawing comic strips so much! <3

OHSQUEEOHSQUEEOHSQUEE!! GAAAAAA! Gary Goldman is going to be an Artist-in-Residence at SCAD in the Winter!! Ohspazzout! Gary Goldman! He's going to be teaching a course! I just GOTTA get into that class! OnO
... cough. Urm. Gary Goldman is co-founder of Don Bluth Productions. He co-directeed and animated movies like All Dogs Go to Heaven, The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time, Anastasia.... Oh my gosh, so many! I'm like having a fanspasm!
The only thing, grad students always manage to grab all the slots for Artist-in-Res classes before anyone else can register. T^T Stupid grads. It's not like they're any good at animating or anything. I swear, they need to have a portfolio review for that class. Let people in based on how good they are, not based on whether or not their grads.

Assignments, projects and essays are going to be the end of me.
Or maybe it's procrastination, but I prefer to blame the availability of work rather than my inability to do it on time.
