Well, I wasn't exactly praying for an English dub, but I was hoping that a good company would get it.
And ta-da - Funimation. The same company that dubbed Fruits Basket, FMA, and so many others.

Nobody can replace the Japanese voice actors, noone! T_T but then again, its getting a chance outside Japan. buut then also, there's a chance they'll change some of the best stuff in the dub. e_e Well, whatever they do to the dub, I still support it being dubbed. =D There's no harm... and if Funimation does a bad job, I'll pretend the dub doesn't exist. ^_^ |

Is it stupid Tamaki-ish selfish of me to think of the news as a very late birthday present? XD;; At the very least it means that the dubbing won't be awful!
Yeah, it'll be hard to get voice actors that measure up to the Japanese VAs. I'm concerned about the twins in particular - so far, the original Japanese is the only version I've heard in which they not only actually sound alike, but have their voices actually sync up correctly. (Then again, the other verisons I heard were fandubs. The original most likely would've had the VAs recording together.)
...though, on the subject, I read that a certain Vic Mignogna has expressed interest in voicing Tamaki...

[shadow=purple,left,300]Well, if the dub doesn't come out well *knocks on wood* many of us have already finished the series anyway. XDDDDD The Japanese actors were awesome, I admit, but one way or another they'll have to dub it into English for the sake of everyone else.
Oh, and it'll come out next year. Yup.
I've heard that Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric, Kurz Weber, Dark Mousy, Fai D. Flowright, etc.) has his eye on the role of Tamaki. What do you guys think? I think Vic can pull it off, but it's just that I've gotten so used to him doing Ed's voice... XD

I'll be the first to admit that I all I've watched of FMA were clips of some episodes and the movie. Back on topic... Judging from the sheer variety of roles which he's done, I think I can safely say that Vic's in the running for the role. I mean, it's clear that he has range - and a large emotional range is crucial for Tamaki. Take the first episode, for example. He keeps changing from over-the-top dramatic, to Prince Charming, to the Idiot Lord, to his more serious lines, then finally, angry screaming (he's good at angry screaming! XD) and being flustered by Haruhi - all in that one episode. ...did I make my point clear? I hope I did. Back on topic (kinda), I actually saw a video of Vic doing a quick cosplay as Tamaki. OK, so I had the weirdest dream last night. I was at work, shelving books and my friend Rory (who is a nice kid, but known for being a tad violent; she doesn't realize her own strength) starts messing up the books that I worked so hard to shelve.
I get home and for some reason, Stal, Wandy and the Host Club are in my kitchen. I start making tea for everyone and I find out that everyone in the Host Club fences. I start planning a fencing tournament and trying to figure out who would beat whom. Three members of the Host Club, (It might have been Honey, Mori and Haruhi) randomly vanish. I'm all, "You knwo what'd be fun? A Host Club fencing free-for-all!" I might have added the word "shirtless" in there; either way, Tamaki just looked at me like I was wasting his beauty. I told Kyouya he was my favorite and he just gave me this blank look, like this was the first time he had ever heard that. Surprisingly, Tamaki didn't react. And I was sizing up Stally to see if he could actually beat Dan in fencing. (See yesterday's Tabloids for our discussion of an NTWF fencing tournament.) I forget what Wandy was doing; probably looking at us like we lost our minds. Honey, Haruhi and Mori come back; they were in my attic. They've got a lot of stuff with them, including a dead snake. I scream like a little girl (disclaimer: I don't hate snakes, I just hate dead stuff.) and curl up into a corner and one member of the Host Club cruelly holds the dead snake up to the back of my neck and I'm frozen in place with disgust.
One of the Host Club said, "It's like Wandy said, you might try to change but your natural (something-or-other) will eventually revert." or something along those lines. That weirded me out.
Then I woke up. I NEVER remember my dreams, let alone in that much detail. I've only seen three episodes of Host Club, and I like it well enough, but it's hardly my favorite anime. Maybe this dream is another symptom of my dire need for a boyfriend. XDDD[/glow]
