The article has been proved to be true. Yeah, there's been a lot of confirmation by now. And Variety was a pretty trusted source to begin with. Of course, who knows what the movie would actually be about. It could be anything from a live-action version of the series to a movie set in the past/future Avatarverse with none of the show's leads as the main characters. I'd rather it be the second, because I can't see how it would be possible to make each book into a movie without losing a lot. Though, I would like to see what a live-action Zuko would look like. >.>

With cartoons, there's no limit to how ugly or how cute you can make character features... but in real life, a scar that big would be kinda scary and gross >_> and to make it more realistic maybe they'd leave him bald. I would prefer the second as well... *likes imagining what her favorite characters would look like IRL for herself*

And anyways, I really could go either way. They can make each book into a movie and still be able to keep enough in, in my opinion. They could have it established from the beginning that there's a comet coming and Aang needs to defeat the Firelord by then, so otherwise all that's essential is Katara and Sokka finding him in the iceburg, them going to the northpole and having that storyline, and some Zuko trying to catch them in between. Although it would be nice to have characters like Suki and Jet, they aren't essential. One thing I would like is for the fights to be coreographed by that guy who does things like The Matrix, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and Fearless. All that kung fu would be really cool...

About the Avatar movie... First Reaction to article: OMG??!!!one1111 Second Reaction to aricle: OMG??!!!one1111 Third Reaction to aricle: I saw an Avatar Movie coming, but not a LIVE ACTION one! (This to me is MUCH more shocking than the Season II Finale o.0) I worry about this. It probaby and most likely won't be as good as the series, but I'll try not to jump to conclusions just yet. The actors will sound and likely look different and it'll take a while to get used to, even longer since we know and seen most of the main characters for the past 40 episodes. A live action movie is not that bad of an idea, but since Avatar has been a hit animated series for almost the past two years, an animated movie should have been the first choice. I don't expect this to be the best movie ever, but since I've read in one of the aricles that they have a budget of around $100 million, the scenery, costumes, and special effects should be at least decent. All this news about making a movie, and they're already considering THREE Avatar movies? This makes me almost certain that there will be at least a fourth season. The first movie will be out after season 3, so more people would see the movie if the show keeps going around that time, even if future seasons drop in quality (unlikely as of right now). I'm waiting until more info. about this movie is released before I can go about this further, it's only been about 2 days. Looking at everything said in aricles so far, I think this movie will be at leat around the "Ok, that was worth watching" level. Now the wait begins...

Night Shyamalan. I'm not the hugest fan of his ever, but at the same time I don't argue that he's a great director and storyteller. I doubt he'll screw it up, with him writing AND directing. EDIT: I might point out that IMDB now has an Avatar: The Last Airbender listing for 2008, although you can't see anything but the title and the year if you aren't part of IMDB pro. But the notable thing to realize is that "The Last Airbender" is part of the title, strongly suggesting that it will be about Aang.

But the notable thing to realize is that "The Last Airbender" is part of the title, strongly suggesting that it will be about Aang. I'm not sure about IMDB's accuracy in general, but I've always found thatIMDB + A:tLA = totally unreliable. I'd take that with a grain of salt; it's probably just an assumption that someone made. *** There have been a lot of interesting developments recently regarding Avatar, however. First, Ozai's face has been revealed! Okay, not really; you can't see the whole thing, and his eyes are still obscured. My newest theory is that he has unusually dark eyes - Azula's eyes are darker than normal Fire Nation people's, and that's the only part of him we haven't seen yet. SourceSecond, Serena Williams is supposed to voice someone in Season 3. Kind of random, but I checked the TV Guide myself and it's there. SourceThird, there's a new commercial on Nick for an Avatar game that's supposed to come out in February. It appears to have its own website, so it's bound to be big. Its commercial suggests potential spoilers: It shows Azula zapping Aang, Roku warning Aang not to get killed in the Avatar state, then says about the game, "Aang's Avatar Spirit is in trouble" and "help Aang escape from Spirit World." The implications of this are interesting, to say the least. The game website is www.avatarescape.com but apparently there's nothing there yet except a flash video that says "Begin your journey here on 2/3/07". SourceFinally, SourceI don't think I've forgotten anything... but there's been so much new stuff recently... ^_^; EDIT: Not something I forgot, but something I just found - we now have two episode titles for Season Three: Episode 303 - The Painted Lady Episode 304 - Sokka's Master Source (And they're usually pretty accurate...) EDIT 2: Another new thing...

I just checked Serena Williams on IMDB because I've never heard of her, and no wonder; she looks like a real nobody. Why was that even worth mentioning, anyway?

Nor many players of other sports, for that matter. Venus rang a bell just a little bit, but I think that's just because she and Serena were on an episode of The Simpsons. Don't expect me to know anything about even the most famous sports players. Except Micheal Jordon. But maybe that's just because of Space Jam.

There's a new commercial out for that Avatar promotional game that they're doing here in the US, though there are some other places where it's being done as well, mentioned in the press release: NICKELODEON UNVEILS BRAND NEW AVATAR CONTENT ONLINE IN FEBRUARY Nickelodeon Press Release - January 23rd, 2007 NEW YORK - January 23, 2007 - This February, Nickelodeon offers fans a truly multiplatform experience complete with brand new content and back stories from the networks hit animated comedy/adventure series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The new content, in the form of an animated online comic book from Avatar creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will be revealed within a four-week online gaming event called Avatar: Escape from the Spirit World, beginning February 3, 2007 on a dedicated website, avatarescape.com. To help them move forward in the game, players can tune into Nickelodeon on Saturday mornings in February, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon ET/PT, and gather cheat codes that unlock the next level. During the final week of the event, on February 24, a special cheat code will be announced on-air which will unlock a special brand new Avatar short online, entitled "School Time Shipping." Produced in the "super deformed" style of animation, which uses a style similar to caricature, this brand new short form content offers Avatar fans an opportunity to see their favorite characters in a whole new way. Players can participate in the Avatar: Escape from the Spirit World game by logging onto www.avatarescape.com , where they will be whisked away in a magical journey with Aang as he travels through the Spirit World to reconnect with past Avatars in order to save the Avatar lineage. Upon entering "the spirit world," players will be required to complete four missions in the form of puzzles and online games. Each level of the game represents one of the four elements featured in Avatar. Successful completion of each level unlocks a new chapter in the four-part Avatar animated online comic book. When the fourth level is completed, players will "pass through" to the spirit world where they will find a bonus game and the conclusion of the Avatar online comic book. Fans can also download the animated online comic book to their video mp3 player and take it on-the-go. The Escape from the Spirit World game will also be supported with an on-air promotional sweepstakes (in the U.S. only) featuring new winners each weekend over the four weeks of the event period, producing a total of 50 winners. Fans can visit www.avatarescape.com to enter to win one of 50 "Four Nations" prize packs loaded with Avatar toys, books, a DVD, a videogame and trading cards. The winning names will be featured on-air on Nickelodeon during Saturday mornings from 10 to 12 noon ET/PT, beginning February 10. Partners supporting the sweepstakes include Mattel, Paramount, Simon & Schuster, Tokyopop, THQ, Upper Deck and Lego. Nickelodeon will air promotional spots throughout February to support the sweepstakes. Cross channel promotion for the gaming event will also take place on Nicktoons Network and Nicktoonsnetwork.com. The Escape from the Spirit World event will take place in several territories including the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany and France. Roll out dates for non-domestic territories will vary. SourceAnyway, in the commercial... It starts off with spirit!Aang from the episode The Spirit World (Winter Solstice Part 1) saying "I'm in the Spirit World!", and says something about Aang being trapped in the Spirit World, and that you have to help save him by playing the game and helping him connect with the past Avatars so he can save the Avatar Spirit. Or something like that; I only saw it once. There are several shots that appear to be from the game - one is an animation in the show's style in which a young adult (or maybe even teenaged) firebender is kneeling opposite one of the Fire Sages, who I'm guessing might be a young Avatar Roku. There's also a screen with a 3D background with written on it, as they talk about the on-air codes that you're going to have to collect to complete the game. The commercials make it sound interesting, though. And I'm hoping we might get some kind of teaser for Season 3 by the end of it, because according to AvatarSpirit's source, the animation for the first episode should be back from Korea by then (I'd link the info, but it's in AvatarSpirit's forums, and they don't allow links).

New Avatar info! ^_^ The Headband Don't ask me what it's supposed to be about. XD SourceThe third season might not start until September... T_T I will be at the head of any letter writing campaign if we don't have a set date by the middle of April, and posting a link here. SourceAnd some happier news... Here's the link. There's not much up there currently, just a mini-task, a game to play, and a trivia question to answer, but it seems like it's going to be interesting. And, there'll be some kind of comic or animation to view once the code comes out on Saturday. The premise sounds interesting, and we could get some backstory-type information out of this thing.
