Welcome to the mini-Spot shop, a subdivision of the tabloid shop! We accept only paw dinero for these items. Items will go to your inventory list until you state that it should be used on your mini-spot. Each are one use only, unless otherwise stated.

Please specify with any color item purchases when you go to use it. You can give the shop owner a hexidecimal number, or the Red/Green/Blue numbers of a color, so that we can dye your mini-spot's fur as close as possible to the color you want. (R/G/B numbers can be found in MS Paint. Open paint, go to colors on the toolbar, edit colors, define custom colors. Select the color you want, and the numbers will be listed in the lower right hand corner.)

Butterfly
For whatever reason, these don't mind being around the leopards. You just have to give them incentive to visit in the first place.

Applying bottled birdsong to a mini-lycos will result in the bird becoming a snack for your pet, and you'll get a pile of feathers.

The Story

“Lyyyyyy-cos! Lycos, are you down here?”

Spot crept down the damp steps, moving cautiously as her eyes adjusted to the dimmer setting in the basement. The room was filled with the delicious fresh scent of fish, a sure sign that the delivery had come in recently. It probably also explained why the stairs were wet, as they usually sloshed some water over the sides when transporting the fish to the storage beneath the tabloid shop.

However, Lycos was not in sight down here. Spot grumbled, and searched the far wall for a peculiar brick. Finding it, she pressed it in slightly until a faint click echoed. Then Spot flipped open the lid to one of the fish tanks, stuck her arm into the water, and located a second switch hidden behind the bubbler. She pressed this and withdrew her paw, though not without snagging a wriggling snack first. Fish in mouth, Spot then darted over to a bookcase standing in the far corner, and pulling on the right book, unhinged the back of the bookcase. Spot stepped into the passageway behind the bookcase, all while silently cursing Lycos’ security measures to her first lab.

Spot took the fish out of her mouth, taking care not to let it wriggle out of her grasp. “Hey, Lycos!”

“Spot,” the black leopard snarled in reply, “What have I told you about coming in here? I don’t want you in my lab.”

“But Thundy stopped in, and he was questioning the stock of nuclear weapons, and he also wanted to know if we could just sell him the components individually so he could build his own-“

“That kid? Look, I don’t care what he wants, whether it be-“

“Hey, he is a customer! You should at least show some concern.”

“A customer usually pays their bill,” Lycos snapped back.

“Are we still hung up on the whole $20 thing?” Spot sighed. “Look, just tell me what I should-”

At this point, the fish was slowly surrendering its life, gasping for breath, but it decidedly would not give up without one final struggle. With a heavy snap of its tail, it thwacked Spot in the wrist. By sheer surprise of the action, Spot loosened her grip, and … the fish was free! … And flailing, wriggling its way across the floor.


“Ahh!” Spot took focus on her prized snack that was now flipping its way around, and tried to catch it, but the fish was slippery. In a rather ridiculous display of cat and fish, Spot finally cornered her quarry in a new section of the lab, all while Lycos angrily yelled at the two of them. Ignorant of Lycos’ threats and warnings, Spot poised carefully for a moment, and then pounced! upon her prey. In doing so, she tripped a wire or two, landed on a strange machine of sorts, and a blinding flash filled the room.

“I caught it!” Spot happily announced, purring while holding the defeated fish in her mouth.

“SPOT!” By this point Lycos was absolutely fuming.

“Hmm?” Spot looked up at Lycos. “What’s wrong-”

The sound of mewlings filled the lab, and Lycos pried open a door to part of the machine Spot had triggered. Inside the chamber, there were 5 miniature versions of Spot, fighting over 5 miniature versions of the fish.

“Oooh, I come in travel size,” Spot said, staring at the small leopards. “Eh, but I don’t think I could keep up with that many personalities at this point,” she added, picking one up.

“They don’t have the capability to be another personality of you,” Lycos growled. “It’ll just be like owning a house cat.”

“Yay!” Spot cheered.

“We’re not keeping any pets,” Lycos snapped.

“Aww,” Spot pulled the pouty face while petting the mini-Spot in her arms. “But then what are we going to do with them?”

“Well, the last failed experiment from this machine was at least bird-like in nature, so I could eat it when all was said and done,” Lycos pondered, “But I can’t eat these. Too fluffy and cute for me to stomach.”

“Seeing as how you were coughing up fiery feathers for an entire day the last time, I don’t think it’s a wise idea to go around eating your failed experiments,” Spot commented, a hint of anger in her tone for even the slightest suggestion towards eating the mini-Spots. “What else do you do with your failed experiments, anyways?”

“Chances are, the failed item is self-destructive in some way, so I slap a weapon label on it and sell it in the shop,” Lycos shrugged. “I suppose I could put these in the shop as a new item of sorts.”

“And I could set up and run an adoption stand in the tabloid shop?” Spot looked at Lycos hopefully.

“Sure,” Lycos said. “And if we’re lucky, somebody might even accidentally buy you and take you off my hands,” she joked.

“Heeey, TT___TT ” Spot whined back, “that’s mean.”

“Right,” Lycos ignored Spot’s whining. “Pick up these kittens and bring them up to the shop, before they follow in your footsteps in giving me trouble,” she said, quickly picking up one that was wandering too close to a control panel.

By this point, the mini-Spots had consumed the miniature fish, and tolerated being picked up and carried out of the lab. They rather enjoyed the stroll through the tabloid basement. It smells of yummy fish, one thought to itself. I’ll have to comeback down here later if I can, it purred.

Welcome to the mini-Spot adoption center! Because of a freak accident in the lab, now you can have your very own miniature Spot look-alike. Kittens are given away on a first come, first serve basis, but don't worry, rumor has it there might be more available at later dates. Request away!

• Just letting you all know that my brother's graduation will be taking place over the weekend, so I won't be around. I'm hoping to upgrade the shop sometime around Monday-Tuesday. (6/9/06)
