From the news.
They listened!!! Everyone wanted the Purple pets to lose their orange for true Purpleness, and now they've done it!
This cannot be a coincidence that it falls directly with the end of the Sloth plot. Maybe Parlax had something to do with it?

Woohoo! ^_^ I want to go look at some purple pets now to see what they look like. Are they updated yet? I'm glad TNT did this. I don't have any purple pets, but I know it's been a huge issue. All those people will have to take their banners down now. xD

At least they won't look horrible now. Of course, this could cause a small price spike thanks to this news, but I'm guessing on this one

People are still going to be grumbling about the orange eyes and so forth on some purple pets, unless they're planning to phase those out too. xD *shrugs* I'm sort of apathetic about the change. I like purple and orange together, so the spots never bothered me. I might actually miss them.
Ah well. ^_^ For the greater good and all.

Buwahah, it's been years since the campaign for Lose The Ugly Orange started. Patience is a virtue, apparently.
Well, I'm happy x3 Purple pets really didn't look good with those freckles. Especially seeing that Split pets already are purple-orange.

... ;_______;
*clings tightly to her orange spots* I will always be a true Purple Kiko.
The orange spots were what made purple pets different from the other plain solid colors. The little freckles gave them a little extra touch of vibrancy and contrast. Not to mention that it was one of Neopia's precious ironies, and the protesters against it a part of the culture.
I wish we'd at least found out the reason the spots were there in the first place. ;__;

Wow, finally. The pets look so much prettier already. ^_^ I want to paint my Krawk purple now. Too bad the prices of the paintbrushes will probably escalate. xD

At some point people started calling the freckles/pimples/zits/marks "cute", and so nothing was changed. ...well, there was more to fight about with the grundos.

Maybe the spots should be a Wearable item to satisfy /both/ sides of the Speckles War? =D
