Any of you hear of lizzagold? Well, lemme make it quick. She is a Krawk born by the Fungus Process, one of my Neopets, a nice Yellow Color, and featured in quite a few of my NT Stories. Oh, and another twist? She is a he.No homosexual jokes about my Neopet, please. Let me explain. I chose the name lizzagold with these concepts in mind: - The suffix would be gold, a normality for all my Neopets.
- Since the Krawk reminds me more a lizard then a crocodile, we get LIZ.
- I needed a female neopet, so I choose to go along the lines of Elizabeth. (No personal favorism towards that name.)
Well, after getting the Krawk to give to splashgold so lizzagold could become a neopet, something BAD happened. I found out, I couldn't decide what lizzagold's gender would be, so she ended up a he. I've always mentioned her as a her whenever it comes to fiction, but it always makes me cringe whenever that lizzagold's male. So I have a decsion to make. Should lizzagold become female my means of the item STRANGE POTION? (Very expensive...250k upwards.) Should I continue my constant rexplanation or should I even consider excepting lizzagold's fate? And if I do any of this, what should I do about it in the Neopian Times? What kind of story would it make? Lizzagold hasn't developed much of a personality yet either. So far, she's kinda childish, impatient, but accepting only after she has got her say in. What do you think? This is a real problem for me, because she is going to be part of a Winter Story I really want to get done for one of my neofriends.

My NowneVandanh wound up being male thanks to the lab ray- but had turned into a species and color I wanted to keep her as (an electric JubJub- I think they're so cute!).
Aus bought me the Strange Potion. Expensive, but worth it, if your pet is going to stay that species forever, you know? It's only NP, you can make more.
If you've been writing her as female all along, then just buy the potion, make the gender switch, and never mention it. Instant female, no problem.

I agree with Shidi. See what you can sell for cash, and then buy the potion. It would be a lot simplier then having to explain that lizzagold will be a male from now on.

If you're going to use her as a major character, buy the potion. I'm using the lab ray on Melody's pets, but since FireDarkWolfX and SwiftRiversRunning play extremely minor roles, I'm not bothering with strange potions. But if say... Padiglione wound up as a male... yeah, that'd be potion time.

Something about the transformation from male into female-- as she was always supposed to be-- might make for an interesting story, but it wouldn't make much sense when you've been referring to her as female all along anyway. So, I pretty much agree with everyone else-- treat her to a strange potion and call it a day.
This whole issue reminds me of a story that was in the NT once called "Pak, the 'Other' Gelert." I can't recall what issue it was in, (and it wasn't the greatest story ever written), but it was... different.

I'd have to jump on the bandwagon and say use the strange potion. ^_^ If you want her to be female, that's the only way.

Er...buy the potion, no problem. But a story on gender changing? o.x I think the NT guys might freak out or something. But anyway, in the matter of changing its gender, sure, do what you like. Besides, some guys do that in real life anyway--why can't Neopets?

I got into a situation like that. I had trouble naming my fist pet because I didn't want any numbers in her name. I ended up pressing the "back" button quite a lot, and somehow part of the other information I had filled out (the gender) was returned to default which is, for some reason, male. I didn't realize this until I had been playing the game for a few months. Since I had always treated Sunyears like a girl, I was very upset about it. In the end, I ended up using a strange potion and pretending like nothing had ever happened. My little brother, who was watching me while I was waiting for the trading post transaction to be complete (I kept muttering "come on, come on! I spent over 100k on that!") cracked up when he saw what it did. He said I should have saved the money and just pretended that Sunyears was a girl. Blah. He'll never understand.

I remember that story...quite well actually...anyway, looks like I'm going for the potion. 1st I'm going to get 1,000,000 NP (almost there...) so I can upgrade my Bank Account. Thanks!

I remember that story...quite well actually... Yeah, it sticks in my mind for two reasons: 1) It was a weird subject. 2) Someone plagiarized it once-- they were quickly removed when this was brought to Josh's attention.

I suppose it was kind of weird...but I think the plagiarized version was called "Park: The Other Gelert" I guess because it stuck in mind, I instantly knew the person had copied it, and only turned Pak to Park

I hate to be the only one who disagrees , but I think you should not mention the change in your articles, but mention he instead of she. You should love your Neopet no matter gender, and I find it disturbing changing her into a he...

I'd just keep on referring to him as "she" and just ignore the fact that she is male.
My robot aisha AnthonyCrowley is female, but I just ignore it. Ironically, the day after he turned robot, I thought "Hey, I'll give it one more shot". He turned female. Woo.
