You’re right, I highly doubt this story would make sense if you hadn’t read the previous ones, but I did. *gloats* It’s nice to see stuff from the side who got left behind…

And the ending was so sweet. *sniff*

Well, I haven't read AHJ and have never played Neoquest II, but despite this, I still thought this was a beautiful story. You explained enough that it made sense to me without knowing the background, but it was also vague enough that it wasn't blatant and so I don't think it would have been annoying had I already known about the characters. I enjoyed the descriptions, they were, as always in your writing, very vivid and clear. There was also a really nice, tender atmosphere to the piece which was cemented at the ending which was perfect, a nice conclusion to his feelings. I think that you also delivered the advice through Liwanag nicely, as she came across as a friend, not an annoying know-it-all. Overall, I really enjoyed this, and it has confirmed that I really ought to find time to read A Hero's Journey before the sequel arrives xD

Wow… I loved this story. It’s rich with emotion and beautifully written. I feel really sorry for Sasha. For Katrina, too. You can tell she really cares about Sasha and her outbursts come from her own concern, so you cringe whenever you see Sasha’s reactions and know that’s not what Katrina meant.

I also feel sorry for the yellow Flotsam plushies. Poor plushies.

The parts involving Amelia were especially good. At first I thought she was real, so when the swimming race suggested that she wasn’t, I was very surprised. Up to the end, I was wondering if Amelia was real or not, leaning towards “not” but still hoping… until I finally had to admit she only existed in Sasha’s imagination.

The ending was very sad. I want to hope that Sasha gets some enjoyment out of her dream of swimming in the ocean, but somehow I don’t think she’ll fare very well alone out there. I want to know more… I want Sasha and Katrina to somehow reunite. I feel terrible for both the characters. You did a great job of writing them realistically.

Such a sad, but lovely, story. You did a wonderful job.
