Article Reviews Weed It and Reap: a Beginner's Guide to NeogardeningI love the title of this article... Weed it and Reap... *cannot get over the cleverness of the pun in the title* ^^ I think the title would have been good without the second half of it, since that was what led me to think, "Oh, no, another Neogarden article full of tips and blah-blah-blah..." I read it anyway, not expecting to get any more than a bunch of information on fabulous color combinations that I'll never use, but instead I found a hilarious article filled with snappy jokes and humor that I hadn't seen in an article for a long time. Pk is a great columnist. I don't know if he's on the NTWF, but at any rate, he did a great job with this article. A Day Off With LawyerbotThe idea behind this article is original and interesting for that reason. I wouldn't have expected to see an article on Lawyerbot in the Times. (Incidentally, why is the image of a Robot Tuskaninny?!) The idea of Lawyerbot mini-golfing with "Adorbot" was unexpected and fun. The numerous references to getting sued were humorous considering what the article was about. I found it a little tiring to be following Lawyerbot around all day from place to place, but you threw in enough unusual facts about Lawyerbot to keep things interesting. MORE Happy Home HuntingFj0rd, did Fox forget to put your name on this article or something?... ah, anyway, on to the review. This is a nice, amusing article. I like everything you were saying about Terror Mountain; it was funny and you both made good points in a humorous way. I loved the comment "...Streets are nice." It just seemed so funny, like you couldn't think of anything else to say. I was a little disappointed that the section on Tyrannia was so short, despite my being of the same mind that it's not much of a place. The section on Maraqua was just so funny, though. The idea of being allergic to water, coral, or kelp... Oh, and Fox's reference to your earlier story was great! An excellent article! And I'm definitely looking forward to Even MORE Happy Home Hunting (did I guess that title right?) when it comes out. What Started as a Day in Terror MountainThe title is... mysterious. It doesn't really give any clue about what the article is about, and as a result I found myself reading about the Neopian Times Issue 3 when I expected to be reading about Terror Mountain. Maybe that's how you wanted it to be. Anyway, on to the review. The article starts out well, but... umm, no offense, but it gets kind of boring as soon as the interviews begin. The thing is that the interviews are somewhat repetitive, and the answers are a little bland. The article has an interesting idea behind it, though. Why aren't there any more issues of the Neopian Times? We demand more issues! We demand to have an item for every issue of the Times that ever came out! It's only fair! *storms TNT's office* ... Ahem. That reviewing session got a little wild. Hope you benefited from it anyway.

Thanks for the review Scheff! I hadn't asked for one because of SLOW internet and the fact that the NTWF crashes on me ever other load it seems like. If anyone else would like to review it, I'd love it see them... though I probably won't see them until after the next chapter is out. It's called Chronicles of the Court Rogue: Rivalry.

A few quick reviews... The Storm Cloud-I love stories with pirates in them, so this was really interesting for me! I especially liked the way you wrote Storm's dialog with a pirate-y accent, and the way you wrote it and the description of him made me have a strong image of what he was like. I'll definitely have to read the Avalon series once I get a spare moment! Don't Eat Sloth's Fish!-Nice article! One of the things that I liked in this article was the description of how Sloth supposedly created all these "evil fish" for our pets to eat. After reading this article, I won't be feeding any of those fish to my pets! Hmm, maybe those fish they ate last week have something to do with that weird, glazed stare in their eyes and their constant chanting of the phrase "Must obey Sloth." *shrugs* I assumed it was hormones . Lack of Inspiration-I thought this story was very interesting, even though I was also confused by the lupes in the end. It's always interesting how random events can cause writers'/artists' blocks to go away, as they did in your story. I'm looking forward to seeing the sequel! Reviews for Never Wish to Fly: Part 5 are still greatly appreciated!

Never Wish to Fly- The custom picture confused me. Thanks for telling me that Gila's a gelert right up front, and mentioning it several times. My brain can't handle that much... Anyways, I love all the detail in this series! I like the mention of the sci-fi book, and the petpets. You had smooth transition from the points of view. You've also created a really exciting and funny plot! The characters are really well developed, and you have succesfully surprised me with their true loyalties. You've also done an awesome job working in Neopian elements (The Game Room, faerie Quests) Excellent! I'll definatly keep reading!!

Thank you for the review, Puppy! I'm only sorry I couldn't warn Neopia earlier about the horrible threat these evil fish pose... It may be too late to save your pets, but you could always try pleading with Queen Fyora. Make sure to confiscate any strange ray guns your pets may start bringing home. Short Story Reviews The Storm Cloud Love it! Storm's character comes across very clearly in this story. His pirate speak is cleverly used to add a charm to his personality, as opposed to simply being thrown in as something that has to be there due to his paint job. I found it amusing when he was talking to his boat early in the story, and all the little details of his pirate attitude. I like the fact that Storm is not portrayed in the way of the common pirate character; it makes him unique and also seem more real. His various pratfalls were humorous, and his never-lacking self-confidence, among other things, made him simply fun to read about. I really like having this whole story focused on him, as I think he's a great character. Excellent work! Lack of Inspiration I think I saw this story while surfing through the Reviews board once -- I'm glad that you managed to get it published. The story is interesting, the descriptions are good, and I think one of the best parts of the story is the way you show Lisa's view of everything. The way you describe the colors that she sees is all interesting, and the idea of a painter in the caves who makes art for the Keeper of Time was original. The part with the Lupes was confusing, though; they seem to be helpful at first, but then they chase her up a tree, snarling in angry, musical voices... Angry and musical don't quite seem to mix in my mind. At the end of the story, the Lupes appear to be friendly again. Overall, though, I think this story was quite good and better than you seem to give it credit for. I, too, am eager to see a sequel.

Here're a few short story reviews. I'm a little cranky because i'm sick so I apologize in advance if they're a little critical.
Define Happiness: a (Possible) History by spaiirow
Hmm, another take on the story of the Grey Faerie's history. Doesn't touch new ground (rather sounds a bit like Vira's story to be frank) but then again it's written nicely enough, especially the conceited faerie's thoughts, though there weren't enough in my opinion. The part about the faerie wanting to spread her unhappiness was a nice touch but somehow the corresponding ending didn't fit properly -- the author tried to fit too much in the last paragraph. Overall, an okay read.
Lack of Inspiration by hmlanden
I think this is a great story, especially the concept of the artist wandering into the world to find inspiration. It started out strong, with particular emphasis on emotions and colours, and I particularly liked (Mona?) Lisa's internal thoughts regarding her bedraggled appearance making a good painting. Then everything became a chaotic jumble of escape. The ending was great but only half there IMHO -- I would have liked to see more references to colours and new experiences she could use in her art. Overall, a nice story. Good job Landen.
To Live, to Perish, and to Grow Again by aigroegdede
A very touching story if I do say so myself. I particularly liked the paragraph about how a Neogarden doesn't talk. I do have to comment about how the story is a bit jerky in places but it's still well written overall. Also a bit too short but nevertheless good work.
Another Type of "Lost" by animalnutz1993
Okay, first off, i'd like to say that the idea of a pet running away and changing his/her mind later is, though overused, a good read. But the writing is rather stilted and the writer used too many sentences to describe something. I must admit the parting remark hit the mark (heh) but overall the story could have been better, and longer.
The Haunted Playground by shadowcristal
Heh, a great story hillariously told like a campfire tale. Ed's internal conflict was particularly amusing and adds realism to his dogged retrieval of the ball. The parts where he gets assaulted by the playground equipment is a bit confusing in parts but it's still easy to read and understand. The plot twister at the end's the real cherry on the cake. Good job Sia.
The Storm Cloud by cpmtiger
Though a little short (yes, I know its a prologue of Avalon) the story's still a pretty enjoyable read. Storm's quirksome pirate attitude and amusing thoughts (sarcastic though they may be) are what brings the story to life. The chase part was also well written and not very confusing. Great job.

Hi you random forum posters, you. This is pk_fire14, the column boy. I started an old account on here, like, a year ago, and then it died, and I was sad, so I'm back! With no messages! And no avatar! Whoot!
Anyways, thanks for the reviews of my first column in eight months. Any more would be loved. Also: where would a n00b like myself head? (Just point me in the right direction so we don't get off topic and the moderator doesn't come after me with a chainsaw.)

YAY! PK came! If you don't remember, I neomailed you my review because I hadn't seen you around here. You are fantastic! Wonderful! Write more! [/kissing sounds]
Anyway . . . Anybody have anything that hasn't been reviewed yet or only very little? I'd be willing to take on a series that is so far 2 parts or less.
