From the looks of it, it's like she's decided now she's going to use this to try to promote some kind of idea/agenda ("Oh, the stories have always been about tolerance" and urging readers to question authority and all). My opinion is kind of...if it was pertinent (or to help promote tolerance more), she should've spoken about it in the book. I wouldn't have approved of the platforming, but at least it's not something that looks/appears like a retcon. And even if she didn't want to include it in the book, then she could've just left it with the fact he was gay without using that as a chance to soapbox on it. |

And... yeah, people have been reading it and going "OMG, Grindelore! I've been 'shipping them for years!" but I didn't really see anything like that. *shrug* Then again, I read the book very quickly.
