What I'm not getting is how to shade in Flash. I gotta get to know this program some time... Layers are your friend. (though, I rarely use them in Flash unless it's for transleucent things) XD) I usually don't use layers when making a picture in flash. But in movies, layers are the best friend you could ever have.

Ah, I see. Sounds complicated. Oh well, I'll get used to it. I need to convince my mom to buy it once the trial is over, so I'm making lots of little projects on it to show her how useful it is. XD I'm also planning to enter the new spotlight with one I'm making right now, maybe =O

As for saving images to .jpg or .png....you can't XD You're going to have to do what I do and screenshot the picture, and then paste it into MSPaint to save it. I actually do that quite a bit, even though I think my (really old) version of flash can export images.

Flash is <3<3<3 I love using it to draw in. ^_^ It sure is fun, but I still can't figure out how to use the fill bucket without colouring in manually first... or how to save my images to image files like .jpg or .png! Flash is really picky about having all the holes filled in before allowing you to fill. I suppose it's better than filling everything in the color. *shrugs* As for saving images, go to "Publish Settings" under the File menu. Then, click on the kinds of images you want to save it as. If you do GIFs, you'll want to make sure to set the Palette type to "Adaptive." That's probably the best setting to use, since Flash files almost never have more than 256 colors, and I don't really like its JPEG compression.

Ah, OK ^_^ Thanks for the hint!! :3 .... you can't save it as .jpg? What kind of program IS Flash!? Since it's supposed to be just an animating program, it doesn't make sense to be able to save to .jpg, 'cause you can't have .jpg animations. ^^ I dunno if it lets you save to .gif or not, but if it did it'd make sense because .gifs can be animated. edit: or you can listen to Ikkin. >.>

You probably should listen to Ikkin, that save feature in my Flash doesn't work, soI have to screenshot all of my Flash-drawn stuff. XDXD

I might be mistaken but I think the same company makes a drawing program, so they probably want to encourage people to buy that for drawing instead of using Flash... or something.

Flash 4 (yes I know, ancient! ; has an 'export image' option. And it can do .jpg and .png files. But the newer ones don't have that? Hmm... that seems kind of odd. >_>
