"If your infectious disease is mildly contagious, say 'one.'"
Taa'kan stood still, very still, as the wolf-scented person atop him yelled towards another woman in the infirmary, a woman who stood just out of his sight and cloaked in the shadows. Besides, the talking statue was freaking him out.
"If your infectious disease is highly contagious, say 'two.'"
The silence seemed to lay heavier and heavier upon them as no one moved nor said a word.
"If your infectious disease has led to an epidemic, say 'three.'"
Still, no one moved. Still, no one said a word (except for that stupid, annoying statue, at least).
Taa'kan's eye twitched, and his hind leg began cramping up. Where the girl he carried sat on his back, a nagging ache was beginning to grow, and he felt the odd urge to let her fall off his back entirely. But he couldn't do that; he had agreed to help her, so he would help her.
"If your infectious disease is noncommunicable, say four.'"
Taa'kan couldn't take it any longer.
"For goodness' sake, somebody say something!"
"You have selected 'four': your infectious disease is noncommunicable."
Taa'kan narrowed his eyes and growled, "How is that even possible?" yet it seemed that the damage had already been done. The statue's eyes began flashing mechanically, and sparks seemed to be flying outwards from around its neck as smoke began issuing out of its ears. Some sort of malfunction had apparently caused its artificial intelligence to contradict the laws of rationality, resulting in a mechanical meltdown, and it seemed to be paying the price.
On the bright side, though, the flames suddenly engulfing its head helped to illuminate the shadowy room.

"WOAH!" Keng, startled by the sudden danger of a flamming stone statue that defied the laws of logic threw herself off of Taa'kan due to a loss of balance. A rather large spark had nearly struck her. She hit the floor rather hard. "Oww." she groaned as she tried to pick herself up. She still couldn't quite manage it on her own. She just didn't have enough strength or balance for two legs right now. So she decided to instead go with four.
It would probaly come as a surprise to the wolf and the huntress, her changing into a werewolf now that the moon had fallen and the sun had begun to show it's face. But she didn't want to burden the poor wolf who had already helped her, and she did not want to be completly vunerable and unable to move in the face of a griffin that was threatening to explode and a werewolf slayer who most probably wanted her dead.
So she stroked her neck and let herself take her other form. It took hardly a second. She was soon covered in fur, and slowly picking herself up onto four limbs, though she was still quite shaky.

((Er, yeah, a little laziness on my part. This takes place right after my last post on page 111.))
Salah stood there for a second, staring at the ground and trying not to cry. She couldn't cry, not now. It would be giving Pyro what she wanted.
Finally, after moments of standing stiffly in place, Salah forced herself to move. It felt as if her legs had been glued to the spot as she turned around and walked quickly off towards the manor. When she thought she was out of sight, she started to run, managing to suppress all but a few sobs until she had closed the door behind her. Then Salah let herself cry, still running through the hallways toward her room.
She stopped suddenly as she heard a yell from down some hallway. "YOU!" Someone else replied, but more quietly. Salah recognized Keng's voice. Taking a deep breath, she walked quickly down the hallway, but not too quickly. She didn't want to look like she had been crying when she got there.
"WOAH!" shrieked Keng's voice from down the hall. Salah decided that her eyes were dry enough and ran full-speed to the room. It was an infirmary. Hey, this place actually exists, remarked a voice in her head in the split second before Salah realized that there was a fire in the room. She was about to panic when she realized that a statue's head had caught fire (how the heck did THAT happen?) but didn't seem to be setting anything else on fire. Still, better to keep your distance from anything on fire...
A moment later, she realized that Keng was, once again, a werewolf. Wait, how is that STILL happening? It's daytime! Salah wasn't sure what had gone wrong, but she did know that it really wasn't a great idea to have a werewolf on the loose, especially near someone as bad at fighting as her. Pulling light from the dim hallway behind her and the fire around the statue's head, Salah surrounded the werewolf in glowing light.
A moment later she noticed the archer who had attacked them earlier standing rather close to her, and she backed away into the hallway slightly.

Keng was rather confused to see her fur retract as she once again took on human form, and once she was fully back to normal, she promptly collapsed on the floor again. She's never noticed before how much energy shifting zapped from her system. Perhaps it was just because she was already exhausted to near rag doll status. She wasn't sure if she would be able to stay awake after another shift, so she painfully reached behind her neck and turned the device off. It didn't seem to be working anyway. It was now that she noticed she was in some sort or spherical spotlight, and everything made sense. "Salah?" she inquired.

"Uh, yeah?" Salah replied automatically. She scrunched her face up for a moment, trying to keep from crying again, and automatically rubbed her hand over her eyes. "Are... you okay?" she added, seeing that Keng had collapsed on the floor.
Still very aware of the black-haired archer in the room, Salah slipped into the room and a ways toward Keng and away from the other woman, trying to look like she was trying to get away from the archer (even though running back down the hall would have been way more practical) and see if Keng was all right. Her fingers clenched on her staff, and she debated silently whether she should hold it out in a defensive stance. Then again, what good would it do against arrows, Salah reminded herself, even if it made her feel better.
"Uh..." Salah said very quietly, trying to think of something amazingly smart to say. "What are you doing here?" she asked suspiciously after a moment of hesitation. Well, not quite what she might have hoped for, but it definitely worked.

Suddenly, the girl riding him fell off, and she turned into a wolf! A werewolf...? Taa'kan thought, eyes widening at how many things it explained, but no sooner than he had thought that, a mage ran into the room and it was suddenly filled with light-- and the werewolf-girl began turning human again!
Taa'kan turned away, the light hurting his eyes-- and that was when he saw it reflecting off something on the far wall. He approached it slowly, making out what appeared to be a switch beneath some metallic sign, and then, when the mage's light abruptly went out, he gasped as best as a wolf could gasp at what it said: "BOTTLED RAIN."
The wolf blinked once or twice, and looked towards the ceiling. Surely enough, amidst the flashes of fire coming from the statue (How does stone burn? he had thought for a moment before deciding it best not to wonder at all) and the swelling seas of smoke above them, he saw a series of small and rusted, copper-looking pipes that had small punctures here and there.
Deciding the risk was safer than the plight, Taa'kan turned back to the switch and pulled it down with his teeth. A spark of magic rushed upwards from the switch, striking the pipes and filling them with a blight of water that fell down in torrents onto the burning statue and the four beings beside it.
Then, as suddenly as the downpour had begun, the fire was extinguished and the rain stopped.
Puddles, however, still remained on the floor, through which the wolf's paws splashed unnervingly as he neared the others once more. They were all soaked, too. And it didn't take an idiot to know that it's hard and uncomfortable to fight in wet clothing (unless you take it off), but even far worse than that, is the smell of a wet wolf's fur.
Then, to add insult to injury, the statue suddenly straightened itself and its eye began flashing brightly once more.
"If you are wounded and in need of healing, say 'one.'"

A moment later, water began to pour down into the room. Salah shrieked and covered her head; her hair was already dripping wet. A moment later, she connected the dots. It's a sprinkler system, she realized, glancing over at the statue, which of course had been put out. The water stopped a couple seconds later, and Salah realized just how wet she was. Her clothes were soaked through; somehow even her shoes had been filled with water in the minute or two the water had been pouring. Her wet hands felt plastered to her staff.
"If you are wounded and in need of healing, say 'one,'" said an almost robotic-sounding voice. Salah's head whipped around. It was just the statue, which had make a remarkable recovery from being set on fire.
When Keng remained silent, Salah said, "Uh.... one. I'm not hurt," she added in a clear voice to the statue, "Keng is." She gestured to the pirate on the floor nearby.

Omni squeezed a little tighter, and smiled a little bigger. Ikkin was okay! At that time, everything seemed alright. ...Then the dizzyness returned.
Omni let go of Ikkin, and started trying to get her bandages back on. But, the carpet material stubbornly stayed knotted, and she couldn't just slip the bandage back into place.
"Could someone help me with this?" she asked.

"Could someone help me with this?" Omni asked, trying to unknot the carpet material that she used for a bandage.
"I'll help," Ikkin offered, extricating herself from the arms of the others. "I'm not too bad at unknotting things..."
She took the bandages and started fiddling with them, trying to find where the knots were so she could pull them apart. It took a while, and she almost gave up at one point, but she finally managed to undo the last knot and had the whole piece of carpeting to work with again.
"We'll get you some real healing for this later. But these should hold until then," Ikkin said as she motioned Omni to come closer so she could rewrap the bandage.

Kya instinctively reached for her sickle when the pirate began to transform into a werewolf, only to have her fingers close around empty air. Oh, that's right. She had lost her sickle ( and pretty much all her weaponry ) in the fight with the kitsune-girl. As good Kya was in unarmed combat, she couldn't help but think that even without a broken leg, a werewolf would have been too much for her to handle.
To her relief, the werewolf changed back into a human as quickly as it had turned into a werewolf in the first place. Yet as the pirate began her transformation back into a human, something inside of her recognized the werewolf form. Something inside of her began to awaken.
She fought the beast within her with every last cell in her body, resisting its attempt to turn her into the very creature she hunted. Luckily for her, a torrent of water washed the primal instincts out of her mind.. for now.
She took a deep breath and looked at the other, similarly wet people ( and creatures ) in the room.
A few tense minutes passed between them before Skillet broke the heavy silence.
"So um, still for that dinner date?" A happy Skillet on Salah's shoulder asked, oblivious to the tense air around him.
(( Yeah, sorry for the lateness. ^^;; ..*shifts the blame onto the other roleplays and assignments* ))

((Yay post! =D))
"So, um, still for that dinner date?"
Salah shrieked and nearly jumped into the air at the voice from her shoulder. Spinning around, she spotted a shadow spider... wait, it was that same exact one she'd seen before...
Resisting an enormous urge to brush the thing away (no matter how much she hated being close to shadows or spiders, that just wasn't the kind of thing you did to something that could talk), Salah pulled away from the thing, which was a little difficult when it was on her shoulder. Does it even realize that I'm probably the single best choice for killing a creature like it? she asked herself.
"Uh..." she said to the spider, trying to talk to it and look at Kya at the same time. "Uh... who are you?" It had to be something besides one of the shadows they'd seen, or else it would have tried to kill them already.

((You probably won't be turning into a werewolf as the sun has come up now. Keng still can because of her device. Normally the werewolf insitincs only come out at night, but I guess in this case it might be just a bit of residual stuff as it's still quite early in the morning.))
Keng blinked dumbly. Dinner date? Of the many things she would expet not to hear in this situation, that was high up on the list. Then she noticed how Kya has before then reached for her weapon.
"Still trying to kill me are we?" she sneered from the floor. The griffin tried to get at her to check her injuries, but Keng wasn't interested in being healed right now, and pushed it aside as best she could manage. "Is that your first reaction to everything? Or is it just for me?"

Catching Ikkin's gesture, Omni scooted closer and leaned forward slightly. As she knelt, holding still so the bandages would be easier to tie, she looked over Ikkin's shoulder. She could see a rainbow forming, growing brighter as the sun rose. (as well as the water particles from the earlier rainfall) Omni let out a content sigh. She could get back to studying and practicing. She wouldn't have to fight. The whole thing was over...
...And yet, she couldn't get over the nagging feeling that something was unresolved.
But what might it be?! she thought. She began to search through her memories, backtracking through the event. Sev did his thing... The shadows were destroyed, so were their leaders. Weren't they? The masked girl... The guy on the hill... Shino... What could be missing?
Backtracking further, she realized what it was.
It may have been over, but she still didn't know what it begun.
"So does anyone know why Fj0rd called us together in the first place?"
