I thought I'd indulge for a bit and write up a really awesome dream I had a week or so ago. Should be interesting. Enjoy.
Angelis Luci - part 1
Only a handful of trusted individuals knew why a meeting had been called. These chosen few kept their secrets and huddled tight together, sequestered in the safety of a back alley that was immune to all forms of eavesdropping and spying, accessible only to them. Every now and then one would stand and leave for a few hours, reporting back in solemn tones and commenting that all the NTWers were indeed gathering as requested in the main hall of the world. Finally, nearly six hours after the word had first been sent, a figure dropped from the sky, making a wild descent in the narrow confines of the alleyway.
“About time,” Crystal hissed under her breath.
The woman landed on the fence that cut the alleyway in two and balanced there precariously, bare feet clinging to the wood and her hands grasping for balance. A fox tail hovered straight out behind her and her phoenix wings stretched over her black-tipped ears. She regarded the group before her.
“It’s worse than we thought,” she finally said, “A lot worse. Where’s the Lady Jade Phoenix?”
The group parted to reveal a slight figure dressed in green and with flaming red hair. She wore a sword at her waist and a flower was tucked above her pointed ears. Fox Phoenix Kiddo dipped her head in a slight bow, the best she could manage from her rather unsteady perch.
“How fare the gray lands?” Patjade asked softly and a hush fell over the small crowd.
“What gray lands?” Kiddo retorted savagely, “We don’t have gray lands anymore. They’ve been destroyed.”
A gasp from the assembled NTWFers.
“And what of the people in them?” whispered Tdyans, “Those lands were inhabited and not all of the NTWFers are accounted for.”
“I’m sorry but… I don’t think anyone could have gotten out. Even now those lands are being reworked to fit their new masters. It’s straight out of a nightmare. Maybe we really are fighting demons.”
“Kiddo.” Patjade moved to stand directly before the young adult. “I appreciate your willingness to fly reconnaissance for us and for your pledge of aid from the NTWF Ninja Clan. But I can’t have you spreading panic and rumors, not even among us. Tell me exactly what you saw and leave any speculation out.”
The ninja took a deep breath. After a moment she slipped off the fence and found a crate to sit on, folding her legs up under her. Everyone was silent while she quietly removed her katana and wakazashi, followed by the scarf around her face and head. Then she looked from person to person and seemed to mentally steady herself.
“Very well,” she said softly, “I’ll tell you exactly what I saw.”

In another part of the world the usual antics were raging. Flyers announcing a meeting of all NTWFers were scattered everywhere, bearing the seal of the Lady Jade Phoenix. However, there were a couple hours left, more than enough time to get some good old fashioned fun in.
“That’s IT!” Spot hollered, “Mindela, why don’t you go take your crying elsewhere?”
“I’m not crying,” the pink-haired ninja snapped, “I’ve quite gotten over Kiddo-sama stealing Wanderer, thankyouverymuch.”
“Then what’s with all the racket from over there?”
A long pause.
“We told Linny that the next Harry Potter book release is being pushed back six months.”
A loud wail that soundly vaguely like ‘my preeecioussssss!’ punctuated the air and Spot winced, her furry hands tightening around her pencil.
“Can’t you shove her in a closet or something?”
A very long pause. Spot peeked up and wondered if she had said something wrong. The nearby NTWFers were shifting from foot to foot nervously.
“Yeah, Spot, gray lands are declared off-limits for now, remember?”
“Oh yeah… that’s so odd.”
She chewed on the eraser for a moment. Nothing like this had ever happened before. The gray lands were an important part of their world – sure – they weren’t nearly as well-defined as central NTWF was but that was what made them so important. They came and went as gray mist, solidifying into figments when a NTWFer traveled into them and gave shape to his/her thoughts. She’d been there many times herself, envisioning new worlds and places. Some of the stronger figments persisted and even stood a chance of becoming a permanent place in their world, while others were just legend. JH claimed that he’d once found a camera-proof closet while scouting for tabloid material but no one really believed him.
“It’s so odd, that the gray lands are off-limits. Must be something serious. I mean, have you even seen a mod or admin all day?”
“I saw Tracy earlier. She was putting up more flyers.”
“More!? They’re already everywhere.” To prove her point, Spot flipped the piece of paper she was drawing on over. The other side bore the clean writing declaring the time and place of the meeting.
“Guess the mods mean business,” Mindela shrugged, “Anyways, enjoy your drawing. I’ll go see if I can quiet Linny down now, she’s getting on my nerves even.”
“Shove her in Hogwarts for a couple hours,” Spot muttered.
“No gray lands.”
“DANGIT! I’ll never remember.”
As Mindela started to walk away, Spot leapt to her feet and ran after her.
“I almost forgot! You’re a ninja, have you heard anything?” It was common knowledge that the ninjas were involved in just about everything that went on around the forum and even managed to cause some trouble of their own at times. But instead of dishing up the juicy gossip Mindela only shook her head.
“I’m afraid not. We were told by Crystal-sama to be armed and ready at all times and to be alert for any sign of anything unusual. That’s all. And no one has seen Kiddo since late last night.”
Spot sighed heavily and sat back down to her drawing. But she didn’t pick her pencil back up, only stared at it morosely.
“Mindela. I’m a bit frightened.”
“That’s okay Spot. I think we all are. It’s the waiting, just drives you insane. Just one more hour and then we’ll know what’s going on.”
She patted her friend reassuringly on the shoulder, who attempted a half-hearted smile. Then the ninja walked off to see if she could repair the damage she’d help create with Linny and her Harry obsession.
