I know -_-. And I can't get a pair of jeans that aren't low-rise, or a shirt that doesn't cut off above the belly button. Ergh. When I had to go school shopping at the beginning of the year I was pretty appauled. Bob's Discount, which is a pretty tame family store, only had low-rise jeans.... I had to buy myself an entirely new undergarment wadrobe just so I didn't have my panties hanging out all the time. -.-;

IDL, do you live in the same world I do? I was once dragged to a store chock-full of shirts with jokes about getting girls drunk and screwing them. Really, there were about half a dozen different varieties, all degrading. I felt a bit sick, and I wanted to go stand and wait outside instead, but there was a crowd of people smoking out there and I decided to poison my mind rather than my lungs. Let me rephrase: All sane-minded non-imbeciles don't wear those shirts. I've been in one of those stores. Personally, I'd take the second-hand smoke.

[glow=red,2,300]If someone came in with a shirt bashing women (driving or something, nothing about getting drunk or anything sexual,) I'd laugh. I'd have no problem with it. The Battle of the Sexes has been going on since Lord-knows-when, and it's a comic tradition, really. If someone came in with a racist or homophobic shirt, I'd probably bash their head in. But women-bashing shirts I can deal with. And I think it was school-appropriate. Most people know it's a joke. Again, if it were racist, sexual, etc, I'd have a problem. And as for jeans, i know exactly what you mean! If they get any tighter, I may not be able to fit in them. [/glow]

Mmm, agreed on the jeans thing. Did suddenly all girls on the universe decide only to wear tight, reavealing, see through shirts and hip hugger jeans, or did I miss some National Convention on the subject?

All sane-minded non-imbeciles don't wear those shirts. If we could write an issue off as insignificant simply because the world's population of sane-minded non-imbeciles refrained from participating in it, this would be a much different world.

I don't mind the shirts, but I don't wear them. My friend has a David and Goliath shirt that says "Stupid Factory - where boys are made."
Iunno, I think it's funny, but I wouldn't wear it, it's degrading to men. I have a shirt that says "I like you but you stink." but it's not really towards one specific group...
As for low riser jeans and shirts, I don't get it. What's so bad? I wear my jeans, uh, low... I guess, maybe two and a half inches under my belly button, on my hips, but my shirts reach my pants. The things that bug me are TIGHT pants. Lululemon, or whatever company you prefer. Pants that actually show the SHAPE of your arse, and are basically spandex. Those, I think, are slutty.
I'm surprised no one's brought up short skirts yet -shifty eyes-. So don't wear those.

It's not that I think they look horrible or anything, because some girls look stunning in them, but I can never wear them. I hate showing off my legs, so I wear trousers or sometimes skirts that come below my knees if it's warm outside. However, I have to say that my bum is one of my best features. Everyone keeps telling me that but it's kind of embarrassing when people keep focusing on it instead of me. I wear tight jeans usually, when I'm out.

It depends on the content of the shirt. If it's kiddish "Girls/Boys have cooties" etc. messages, that's okay with me. Like someone else said, the battle of the sexes has been going on for ages =P If the shirt has nasty, offensive messages then it's not okay in my book. In fact, ANY shirt with offensive material should not be worn in public. You may argue for "free speech" but that's only in America and I'm sorry but I don't believe in that.

I felt a bit sick, and I wanted to go stand and wait outside instead, but there was a crowd of people smoking out there and I decided to poison my mind rather than my lungs. Mm, it's hard for girls to find t-shirts to wear that aren't degrading to them, or annoyingly sexual. Ones like "Ride 'em, cowgirl" or "I like to be on top" or "Single and looking" and "Free and easy." If it's not brand names then it's sexual messages. And anyone desperate enough to advertise that on a t-shirt , well But there's enough shops over here to avoid that kind of stuff mostly, though all the jeans are quite tight and low rise, but that's just the current fashion. Not that I mind that much. But boy and girl bashing shirts aren't too bad - mostly teasing - and anyone who wears the more offensive ones about girls is considered a prick ^^ Boys are fair game though Hah, equality of the sexes is wonderful!

[glow=red,2,300]I go to a Catholic school, and thus have to wear a skirt as part of the uniform. Most girls roll thier skirts up so they're shorter. And they pressure me to do the same. it's sooooo annoying.[/glow]
