Ah...the good ol' topic: luck. Many people think of it as nonsense, and of course, many don't. I belive in luck...to a certain degree. I don't think luck will make you ace that certain difficult exam. That comes from skill and knowledge. I don't think luck will make you find a 100$ bill on the ground. That just comes from someone who's incredibly stupid and clumsy. ^_^ But, I do think that luck can be quite handy when playing the (virtually immposible) lottery. Yups, yups. Blubbeh wants to hear everyone's opinions on this!

I don't really believe in luck... but I kind of have to.
See, I am incredibly incredibly lucky. When playing Warhammer I'd be that annoying person that'd roll all 5 and 6's twice in a roll with 20+ dice to destroy an entire 50+ unit in one round of combat.
My brother calculated the odds 1:something in the billions.
And it's not just isolated incidents. It's ALL THE TIME. For my entire life I've had extremely good luck with the dice. Drives my brother and dad up a wall when playing the NeoPets TCG. I always roll a 6 when I need it.
So on one hand - I can't possibly rationalize luck as a force. It just doesn't make sense - how can somethign that is pure chance be real? The physics just don't add up. Rolling a dice has so many different variables that one person cannot consistantly roll high.
And yet I do.
So I guess I have to admit that there is luck, altough I can't even begin to fathom why.

It depends on how you define it. I think that you can be lucky, as in get a good roll on a die, but I don't think that you have a set luck that stays with you.

I believe in luck. And I also believe that I don't get luck very often.

I believe that things happen for a reason and those good things are generally called luck. I used to collect trading cards and carried around a trading card of Jeff Goldblum in a little plastic card holder. It was his picture from Jurassic Park. Anyway, if I would rub the picture, particularly on its legs (don't ask) I would be able to choose packs of cards that had those special and super hard to find inserts in them. One store owner didn't believe me and actually challenged me. So, I chose two packs of Flintstones NFL cards and the first was normal, but the second had a hologram. The guy almost fell over and joked about buying my Goldblum card off me. Sadly that sort of luck did what it could and ended. Still, I believe that certain things do help aid you in luck, but it is just what you believe in. I've been fortunate with many things recently by ways of money and was safe from the hurricanes big time compared to what happened with my friends, but again it all goes back on what you believe in. I don't believe in rabbits feet bringing luck...how could mutilating a living thing be fortunate for anyone including the creature? That won't bring luck just the angry spirit of the murdered being which in turn will give you bad luck Ok, I'm just yammering now. But in all yes I do believe in luck in whatever forms it comes in and whatever names it is called.

Well...mostly I believ other people have luck, not me. I just ahd my last exam today (finally!) and of course I pulled the chapter I probabl hate the most, so it was very bad...most people I know are lucky in picking questions...I'm not.

I have this weird idea that God has a system of karma set up. To reward those who do do good and so forth. Can't prove my theory, but it's interesting, eh? Anyway, Kiddo, think about it. The chances of you rolling any other numbers that often are also 1:something billion. Of course those other numbers aren't that important, but you know what I mean. And I also know what you mean. I think Walter the dice demi-god has smiles down upon thou. Much like Walter smiles upon myself. Just whatever you do, do not worship Glock. Glock is going to fall to Walter's wrath. ((it's a running gag-thing from Assassin Tag. Walter is the dice demi-god that my Tag-Team tourny partner has found to be helpful. Glock is the other dice-god that people like "Evil" and "Drag" worship. Well, Glock has fallen to Walter's might a few times now. )) ((No I'm not serious about dice demi-gods being real or anything....))

I also believe in luck to a certain degree. You need to be lucky for all the luck and chance games, to find lost stuff, and to catch people on a good day when you need a favour.
On the test thing, I believe you need luck on the (hopefully few) questions that you guess at.

I certainly do believe in luck. It's gotten me out of really really sticky situations before. And, it's basically my life. I.E.I have both of my parents, happy people. My little sister's annoying, but I get through it. On the other hand, my best friend lived in a stressed out home. Her dad's dead, her mom worked minimum wage, she had to put up with 4 sisters, her oldest sister had a baby in February 2003...It was kinda hard. Then she got to move into a really nice house. See? Bad luck changes to good luck, it takes time though...

"Coincidence is just when God decides to remain anonymous". -Bumper sticker Not saying that that roll in Risk is going to affect your life, just that I don't think there's anything 100% random in the world. 99%, but not 100

I thinkk luck is more a reversed subject- if you believe in bad luck, you'll have bad luck because you think of it. If you believe in yourself and believe you have good luck, than you probably will. As Blubbeh said, you won't find $100 on the ground but still.
By reversed subject, I think black cats, walking under ladders and stepping on cracks are good luck because, well, I'm insane. Although I like shamrocks, rabbit feet and horseshoes. I'm superstitious in my own special way. My mom or sister or grandmother or any kind of relative- they're not superstitous, but I most certainly am. BLACK AISHA! YAY!

I once read a study on luck which said that most people who consider themselves lucky are persistant, optimistic, and notice small details. Most of these things, added up, constitute most things about luck.
But, of course, not all.
I belive in luck in a manner. I doubt that life is as simple as it appears - there must be some sort of force which operates in a system that we cannot perceive nor possibly understand.

[glow=red,2,300]Today, I got up. Saw that there was enough snow on the ground to make me 20 minutes late for school, but not enough to make the board cancel school altogether.
Got distracted by the TV news and didn't finish breakfast.
Dropped my cookies for the Book Club into a puddle and lost half of them.
Found out I had a Religion test and a Biology test that I didn't study for.
Forgot my Geometry book.
Get run over in the hallway. Several times.
Nearly murdered my locker.
I'll let you know when my opinion isn't so biased. ;D[/glow]

I belive luck. Luck is when you happen to guess right many times in a row. Unlucky is when everything wrong happens in the same day (poor Rider). Luck is something very abstract to me. Luck exests, much like happyness exists. It is a way to describe what has been happening to you in recent events. Luck isn't something that you can bring with a charm or control.

[glow=red,2,300]OK, I am now less biased.
I believe I must've done something wrong to deserve that day. But anyway, I believe that the Big Guy Upstairs has a karma system all worked out. That is to say, if I don't run around the Dungeons and Dragons game getting drunk on whatever the dwarf barkeeper gives me and beating up innocent, unsuspecting (somewhat stupid) chickens, then I'll be OK.
