I just joined. Before I get involved in a forum I need to know what exactly it's like over here. It seems every forum/guild message board I've ever been to has been infested with uppity little gits, being mostly the moderators and their flocks of blind followers. I have a series of questions for the mods here :
1. Would you consider yourself to be narcissistic, self centered, arrogant or biased in any way?
2. If I had an opinion, and you didn't agree, would you abuse your power against me? My favorite quote is, "I disagree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it." I personnaly respect everyones opinion but unfortunatly this is not always true for other people.
3. Do you let your mod power get to your head?
4. Would you consider other mods or even yourself to be corrupt in any way?
5. Are you affiliated with Pink Poogle Toy (the fascists) in any way?
6. Do you have anything in common with their mods in any way shape or form?
Just wanted to know that's all...you know...

See? You should be okay here! Just remember to make sacrificial offerings to them three times a day - Patjade especially, she's the worst of the lot - and you'll be just fine.
Wait. What was that about not trying to scare the new people....? Drat, I think I forgot again.

It doesn't scare me. I just can't stand people who think their all high and mighty just because they're mods. There is a lesson to be learned from Pink Poogle Toy. They all seemed to think they owned me and other members and most ended up with the neopets accounts hacked and frozen.

Really, though, all the mods here are kind, honest, and fair. I've never seen them abuse their 'power' or anything like that. It should be fine You get one and a half. I don't know how we do the half offering, ask someone else. I almost got skinned alive by Pat! I only escaped by yelling that the Keebler elf was nearby with flowers and while she was going gaga-eyed over him I made my escape. I'm going to suffer for this, aren't I? Kiddo at 2 am is not a good thing apparently. |

No more than the average person. first off, power? *laughs* mods aren't supermen/women. The only times I've ever had to step into a thread and lock/move/delete it is when a)a member requested it done to their own thread b)the post contained SPAM, threats and/or insults towards other members or the forum as a whole C)Someone was abusing what the forum is for (see above) In all of these cases, save the first one, other mods were consulted and the concensus was to do what was done (make sense?  ) Frankly, opinions are just that - opinions. And everyone is inclined to their own. If a post of yours happens to fall into any of the above categories I won't hesitate to take action though. What power? No more than anyone else....in no way that would affect their ability to be mods I suppose. Pat is usually the one who chooses the mods and she's done a fantastic job up till now, and I see no reason why she won't continue to do so. I'm not affiliated with any fascist order that I am aware of. I wasn't aware that PPT happened to fall into that category but no, I am not. Actually yes, I am a human being, as I suppose they are too. If I happen to wrong in this assumption and they turn out to be some other species than disregard this statement. If you ever have a problem, the mods are here to help. We live to serve and to make this community a fun, safe place to hang out. If you think someone is 'abusing their power' PM one of the other mods and let them know what the problem is. |

I have a series of questions for the mods here : Blind? *blinks* Well, maybe many of us need glasses... *Checks self. Under the covers, in the closet, around the corner...* Nope, *Shrugs* All you need to do is look at some of the remarks in Off Topic and the Banter Board. The only thing I don't like is people targeting other people. A healthy discussion is enlightening, even if I don't agree with the position held by another. But if you start getting personal in an attack, you are liable to be invited to go elsewhere, and I always give someone a forewarning if they are treading on dangerous ground. Mwahahahahahaha. Nope. ;D I dunno. What are you planning to bribe me with? Chocolate and a movie are a great way to start... Nope. Although I think I have one in my SDB. Is it evil? Should I donate it to the Money Tree? I don't know who they are, but everyone is welcome here, unless they violate the rules. I hope I have proven myself worthy of your patronage. |

Right. So while I recover from that spurt of randomness, I can say more than anyone here that the mods are pretty fair and just. Though at times I don't trust them (which all dates back to some bad experiences I've had with Mods on other forums...nothing of _that_ sort has ever happened here. So it's not their fault I don't trust 'em), they've never done anything I can say I'm against.
One of the main reasons I say this is because of the fact I'm normally one of the most fiery in debates, and always in the minority. And I'm still alive and can say the whole thing was handled fairly and justly. *nodnod*
*waits for the payment that was agreed upon* (Heh)
Although...
Patjade is pure evil incarnate. Must I remind people of the Neopian Times' Ball? *remembers that according to that, he's on Patjade's 'list'* Aw, crap.

I wish someone had told me that a couple years ago when I ended up looking like an arse in my guild...coincidentally it's the same guild I now run, so maybe I was wrong about that being a bad thing ;D

Actually, I was reffering to both sides. PPT alegedly used cookie stealers to nab people's passwords while a just and honerable individual got revenge by hacking like 75% of their mods. |
