My mom started making a scrapbook today. One page of the scrapbook is entitled "Simon and Friends," Simon being my little brother. It shows him with a bunch of his buddies from little league and school. The next page is called "Emma and Friends," Emma being me. It shows me with various dogs and horses. That sort of puts my life into perspective. . .

A perspective of my life would be a group of stars, with a satellite (i.e. comet) being bounced to and fro the outer reaches of those stars. You can guess what the satellite and the stars represent yourself. Though I have a suspicion that my paticular condition described by this metaphor is silently common among youth, and I won't really get to the bottom of it until I have the right kind of major life crisis, or I gradually change from it. I prefer the latter, though I'd be happy if I remain this way the rest of my life.
