The Cursed Ring

.....no its not a LOTR topic (thank god...). Last year for valentines day, I bought a valentines day ring for about 79k. With valentines day drawing close a year later, I was thrilled to find that the price of said ring has skyrocketed to about 400k and decided with V-day on the way and some of the rich tycoons likely looking for ways to impress their neogirlfriends or just add to their collection, now would be a good time to sell.

I tried the trading post first....the best offer I could get was a Slugawoo and a Pink Slorg someone seemed hellbent on trying to get me to accept. After a couple of days, I got frustrated and took the ring over to the auction block instead. SOMEBODY had to buy it...

Its first day listed, someone bid on it and the auction closed with them as the winner. YAY! ....or were they? As the auction processed, the telltale blue "(AUCTIONED)" note under the ring disappeared and.....that was it. The person had welshed on their bid. ARGH!!!

Frustrated, but not broken, I relisted. As the second auction drew to a close with no bids, someone popped in and placed a bid at the last second. WHEE!!! I then get a neomail.

"hi i was the high bidder on your auction. i think it was too expensive"

I replied saying "if you thought it was too expensive, why did you bid?"

"I'll go through with buying it if you make a trading post lot with your krawk's moltenore in it and let me bid a junk item"

......yeah right, Spanky....With the idiot properly on ignore, I sighed in defeat as once more the "(AUCTIONED)" notice disappeared from beneath the ring and it was mine once more.

Deciding the auctions were more pain than gain, I dragged the ring back to the post where some very "nice" offers came in:

1 bottle of green sand, 10 neopoints
1 puppyblew, 1 christmas wocky plushie
1 blue paint brush, 1 green paintbrush, 3 scratchcards
1 Eo codestone, 1 neopoint
10 balthazar plushies
7 Dr_Death plushies, 1 red uni plushie, 1 yellow techo plushie, 1 Dr_Death trading card (accompanied by a note saying "I know u'll accept these!! ;D")

Back to the auctions....where it remains to this day x.x I keep the faith that as valentines draws closer, SOMEONE will buy the stupid thing. Its like a curse to look at anymore ¬.¬ Evil....evil...ring.....*tears out hair* WAAUUGHHH!!!!!!!!!

*cough* yeah. Don't mind me its 5:30 in the morning and I'm still waking up

Someone bid a Tyrannian Necklace and 20,000 NP on a Faerie Paint Brush another person bid 20,000 NP a bottle of black sand and a pink poogle plushie. I was like yah right. After a long time I finally got a bid for what it was worth.

Just today I had a Ghost Draik Morphin Potion that the Snow Faerie gave me. Most people bid a cheap item and a lot of Neopoints, which I rejected, while one person bid just a fire faerie. That's all. A fire faerie.
I ended up trading it for a Starry Paint Brush which I used on my Peophin. ;D

Wow, People are so...special. o.O;; Why can't they just get over they can't afford something and save up so they can instead of torturing people with their obsurd offers.

And you know half the time those people CAN afford it they're just being jerks. -_-

Yeah, people have alot of NP and know what its worth, but they think they're so spical that they can just bid crap. Don't you hate it?

It used to be that when I got bored I would surf the trading post for tombala junk and grooming supplies and see what idiots are asking for them. The results are. . . surprising. . .

Thats a problem with some "expensive" items on neopets, theres no demand!

Maybe you can sell it a little cheaper...or wait for Valentine's Day to draw closer.

lol, i just loved the jerk who wanted the Moltenoire. 'I would have told him to go take a flying leap off a rope bridge. Its really hard to get people to buy some items though. I got a Valentines ring which i always wanted through the shop so i was lucky there.

I suggest waiting a while, its still only January so the demand might not be there yet. Maybe in mid January try and trade it again. Make it clear that if you get junk offers you,ll leave the offers to rot for the rest of eternity.

Alternatively, you can try and seek out other items that you might want that are equal or higher priced and then bid on the item, if you're lucky the person will accept. I did that once with an item that i found really hard to trade and i put a bid in for a Evil Chia Plushie for a friend for christmas with the item *can't remember what it was* and some nps. That way i didnt have to wait for a trade to come in and i only had to spend less than half the nps.

*cough* myesh, somebody bought it o.o I lowered the price by 20k and someone squeaked in a bid at the last minute and actually carried through on the payment too. One babystep closer to getting my thyoras tear. W00T!
