Got this Neomail from daveatneo yesterday: In Neopets,we suspect that a ring of theives are duplicating items using their guild as help .To confirm this, we will need to check your account.And to do this, we will need your code.Please type it backwards.We hope this is not happening , but if you do not give it to us,we will have to take a risk and freeze you. Thank you.To which I replied: This is a scam and I could report you for this.I thought he was a newbie and was willing to give him a second chance in case he thought it was real, thus I didn't report him. Today, however, he replies with: sure.. but if I were you , I would'nt .. Ooh... a threat!  |

How could such people assume that people will fall for scams used so often? They used the word 'code' might I add- and that was a biiiiiiiig mistake.

*sighs* Scammers drive me right up the wall....either they're insufferably stupid or they're like the guy who contacted you and try to maintain an air of "professionalism" including a cool-headed and indirect threat once he sees you've got his number.
The one thing they all have in common is just their...rrghh...their shameless gall. I mean, anybody who can just walk up to a total stranger, fully intent on trying to cheat them out of their things, and manage to keep a straight and sincere face, I just want to slap senseless. And then they have the nerve to get upset when you don't buy it like you've thrown off their scammer groove by calling phony on them. It means their deciet technique, at the age of 12, is less than perfect and now they need to come up with an even more swallowable story and a harder-to-ignore urgency. *snorts*

Its called a gallery. Before you report my shop, stop a minute and take a read on the pop-up message. It says right there that shops with items priced above 100k are just galleries and are perfectly acceptable.
Well I don't care even if it is a gallery you have no right to do that so you either give me that petpet or I will see ur account frozen! And I am not kidding!
that was my all-time favorite scam/blackmail letter exchange. XD She still has a slot open for a krawk pet on her account to this day, like she thinks she's actually going to fanagle someone into giving her one.

Just go to any chat board and freeze anybody that posts a URL to "A BACK DOOR TO NEOPETS!!!" or "GIVE ME FRE ITME I WIL TEL U HOW 2 MAKE MILLION NPS EVRYDAY" or stuff like that. Count the number of people you freeze, and if it's over 500 or so, convince the Staff to make you a permanent monitor  I really like it when scammers acuse other people of scamming to try to confuse the monitors. I've been told that I was a scammer because I describe in role playing that my skeith is painted baby, even though he's blue. I think they said something like this: u stupid n00b, u dont have a baby sketh so u cant pretend u have 1.Note the chatspeak. |

Speaking of stupid little kids... I had the biggest brat at work the other day. She didn't even reach my shoulder but she had the nerve to treat me like dirt because I was the cashier. And she was being a brat to her older sister cause she forgot her credit card at home and wanted to borrow big sis's for $20 worth of ribbon for her hair. Then she gets upset at me cause I didn't ring up a spool of ribbon that she had left in the basket along with the spools she didn't want. I told her, "Well, you didn't put it out with the rest... and look! Your sister is leaving. Goodbye." She needed to be taken outside and spanked. Honestly, what are parents teaching their kids these days? Most of the scammers/people who need to be frozen are under 18. (or at least sound like it) I would NEVER have dared to try any of that crap. It simply was not an option at my house. |

I voulnteer at my temple's sunday school program as a teacher;s aid every Sunday. It's sad when I acutaly take time out of my day to help and i get treated like dirt by children less than half my age... One kid kicked my shins and started to laugh. Because I don't have the authority to even raise my voice at them I had to ask calmly "Why did you do that?" to which he retored... "That hurt, didn't it?!"Scary...just scary... I know teenagers who sit there and raid the fridge at the temple of all the food and take pizza without paying, yet they do not get introuble while other people I know were kicked out of the temple for teh smallest of offences (these offenders are not kicked out because their families are high donators to the temple...). In any case, it's sad when those kids treat you like dirt, even more so when the parents do it. It just goes to show even mroe how most parents don't teach their children ethics or anything that I was taught when I was smaller (er). I wouldn't dare do anything that teh scammers were doing in my home. My mother would scream the evil-ness out of me, and still can too... *throws a couple million points in the well* I just wish that Ithey oculd have a new game on Neopets... What I dream of doing is setting up scammers with. . . well. . ., you know all of those little "Don't click here!" links that take you to sites with endless alert boxes? I'd like to make certain account/pa$$word comenations that would take you to one of those sights and then bait scammers with those combos. If you freeze scammers, they just create new accounts. You have to make them not even WANT to scam anymore. |
