Yesterday, I was going around the forum, doing my normal routine, when I got an error message. It said:
A problem will now make this computer restart. You have 60 seconds before it restarts. I told my dad about it and he thinks its this forum! HELP!

It hasn't happened to me or anyone else that I know of, so it's probably not the forum in my eyes. It might be related to something else, though...is there anything on your computer that might cause that to happen?  |

Did your computer actually restart?
The ads for this forum have been getting more and more obnoxious. It may have been one of them.

A program would usualy ask if you'd like to restart...

And to answer oddhatter's question, yes the computer DID restart.

It actually warned you you had sixty seconds?
Have you considered that it might be a virus? Have you checked your computer for one?

Yes, and 60 seconds later... BANG the computer restarted by itself! When it was almost done, it did it again, by itself!
I could possibly be a virus, but my computer won't tell me.

My computer has been having some hiccups recently as well. I don't know if its this forum or not though. I could be a lot of other reasons other than that. And yes, the ads are really getting too much

Is the computer alright now?
I've seen the rebooting thing happen before(though the error message is new to me...was it a blue screen of death or was it a little grey popup window?).
Hans' computer had that problem and it's still in the shop - we think it's a faulty boot sector, but no one has been able to pin point it exactly.
The forum has been having problems lately, though not that one, for me. I'm just rather angry that the ads have progressed beyond "findwho search engines" and "Classmates.com" to crappily animated "you may have won a million dollars!"and trash talking bobblehead toys.

I know this is off-subject, but I once found a popup window thats advertising a way for no more popups. *ahem!* Mabye they should read the fine print. |

I know this is off-subject, but I once found a popup window thats advertising a way for no more popups. *ahem!* Mabye they should read the fine print. Yes, I've seen those. When my brain tried to process through the paradox, it crashed. Speaking of brain crashes: have you ever tried reading two chapters of LOTR and then watching Invader Zim immediately afterwards? I think I have some permenant dain bramage from that one! |
