Ever since I started writing for the Times, and actually got into it a lot, I've noticed I've lost interest in the site. I just go there to do "the daily", to participate in the war when it was happening, and sometimes feed my pets. Lately, not even that. I seem to login to check my neomail, sometimes check NTAG and log out to go write, or check this forum here. I know that if I lose total interest in the site I will eventually stop writing for it too, and for now I don't want that, so I tried to get motivated again, by trying the stock market. I don't know if it's gonna work, or how long it will last, but just like leb said in a thread, sometimes I get... bored. But bored with neopets.com, not the NT.
What about you, is it the same? Or you still play the site as actively as before you started to write?

I know exactly what you mean... the games are fun but a bit... repetative, at times. I would like to train my pets more, but the price of codestones are still too high.
Sometimes I play the games because I HAVE to (for neopoints) and not because I WANT to.
But I've gone through bouts of this on and off before I started drawing for the 'Times... its actually the NT in my case that keeps me going with the game.

Well, I've not actually gotten into the NT yet, but my interest occasionally goes up or down...for a while, I'll play tons of games, play with my pets, wait for restocks, and all that, and then sometimes I'll just do the freebies and feed 'em...lately I've been a lot more interested in the forum here and the NT than the site itself.... I've stopped playing a few times, but I always start up again after a few weeks or sometimes a couple of months. I don't think you should worry about completely losing interest; if you've been playing more than a few weeks, you're probably hopelessly addicted and will eventually start playing again.
But I prob'ly don't know anything, so ignore me ^^

my interest in thins goes back and forth repeatedly... For example all through September to December I was very "into" Neopets, going there everyday and playing the games all the time...but now I've "re-discovered" Sonic the Hedgehog and I'm playing a lot of SA2B and visiting Sonic related websites and writing my own stories...yep...but I know that'll end and I'll be "into" something else. It never goes away forever though...I just put it aside and take in something else...so I expect to be back "into" Neopets in a few months...yep.

But I prob'ly don't know anything, so ignore me ^^ WOW, Mushroom is like ME... Don't say that!! You know plenty of things!! Err... I don't, though!! ^^ Yeah, I have lost a little interest in Neopets. I don't really like playing the games anymore, except for the simpler ones (Meerca Chase, Destructomatch) and ones that don't take up much of my time. Then I start writing, writing, and writing. I've especially went on the site less when I found the forums (whee!!) and... I forgot what I was going to say. Err... well, I'm starting to write more and more again, which is very good. Recently, I've gotten better at the games. That's bad. If I get better at games, what happens to my education? KABAM! O.O Anyways... Yeah. Same thing with the site I was making. No more updates... there hasn't been one for nearly two months. By the way, I like your Avatar, Izzywizard!! But, anyhoo, it's not like I know anything. I've only written one story, so you don't hafta listen to me! ^^

*pokes her own site, trying to provoke a response* During the summer...or sometime around then...maybe fall...I did a lot on it, set up the frames, and did all but one of the pages I was going to put up...but I haven't worked on it in a few months. It's rather horrible...

Yes, like Meowth, I happen to have those "temporary obcessions" too. Currentlly is t.A.T.u, a russian music group, and The Sims (ever since I got Unleashed). Also other little things take my time, preventing me from playing games on neopets or doing anything there, actually, like the Blog, writing, trying to draw sexy anime hunks ( ), and sitting in my room staring at the tv thinking how much I really should be studying. Yeah, I'm lame, I know...

Wow, same with me. During the summer I started it, made everything... and then I shove it aside for a few months, then I pick it up again, scrape off the dirt, dust, and fungus, then re organise it, add a few things, and put it away again. Maybe I should start cleaning it again

You woudln't believe how many webpages I've done and never actually put online... The one I did put online was about Petz and I compeltely lost interest two days after the frigging page was completed... HA! That is so like me as well! I've made about 3 really big websites, and they just lost intrest in it after I had to upload and link and lalalaa... That's why I like petpages, I don't have to do a lot, because I am a very lazy person. ^^ But back on to the subject matter at hand here! I'm motivated with Neopets mostly because if I stopped, I'd feel pity on my pets... Once I had enough NP to train my pets iwthout fuss, I started to really get into it, and then the Times just boosted my love for the site. ^_^ Maybe try making a Neohome, or something. Might help! I go through temporary days when I don't care, but I'll log on to the the dailies. Other times I'll log on for five minutes and come out 5 hours later still playing a game. It kinna comes and goes...

I'm starting to get a little bored, too, but it helps now that I found a lot of freshmen from the SciFi club are addicts too... we freak a lot of people out when we started talking about the Advent Calendar prizes in the halls. What keeps me going? The Times, because of all the ideas that are bouncing around in my head, but also the people - my guild, 1 person who I talk to through Neomail every day, and the people on this forum. Lately I've started staying away from the Battledome and games - that kind of contest doesn't interest me anymore. I've started talking to a lot more people, using my Neopoints for things I really like and want. I have to find and do what I like. Whenever I get bored, I just retreat into my story-world; that's my cure. From the start, Neopets has always been up here, in my imagination. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be here today.

I'm a little bored, mainly, because the prices of everything have skyrocketed. Even Transmogrification Potions are at least 7.5k, and codestones can reach up to 9k... Then there's the whole lab map deal. And a lot of people, like myself, can't accumulate enough money to get what they want. And it's no fun going on and finding the exact same thing and having to work and work and end up getting no farther towards your goal because you have to buy this, this or that before you can get what you want. Not only that, but I can't get into the Times, I can't think up anymore storylines, I'm not successful in anything I attempt and the people on Neopets are just so hostile towards anyone they meet. Then there are hackers and scammers around every corner... And the Neopets Team is no better, they'll freeze anyone for anything.
I'm rambling on and on and you probably don't want to hear what I'm saying anyway, so I'll shut up and go hide in my dark corner...

I sell my codestones for 3k.
Err... yeah... you're right... part of my not-so-neo-addictive-anymore stuffies is because all the prices are so high. But then again, I think they used to be 10k.
Okie, so in my current neopets career, my neopets life has been divided... err... Ok, cancel everything I said in this paragraph. My neopets life has been divided into three parts: The Beginning, the Departure, The Return. I am currently in the return.
In the Beginning, they used to be about 10k. So when I came back to the beginning of the Return, I priced my codestones for 5k. Then I realised again, and they are now 3k.

The only motivations I really have to stay on the site would be:
- My pets - The guild I'm currently in - Writing for the NT (of course)
Otherwise, I'd probably lose all interest in Neopets and possibly quit, since not much else in the game interests me. I've spent about a year and a half with the account 'peachifruit' and the pets on it, and I've spent a bit too much time with them to lose interest too quickly. Like Linnen Potter said, I'd feel sorry for my pets if I just left without a reason.
Eh, all in all, my interest has its ups and downs.

*nods* My motivations are the writing stuff and the people...talking on the forums and stuff. Neopets is so popular that it's easy to find people who share my interests, like writing. There are also the pets.
Also, it's good for talking with people like my stepsister, who isn't allowed email but does have Neomail and plays Neopets often...
