Rebuttals stink. People are arguing via the Neopian Times. Most of them stink though to be honest. Some are worth reading, but I couldn't imagine writing one. Maybe. Sometimes they are less arguing. For instance, Uv Cours We Can Speek was more of a response than a rebuttal. it included interviews and stuff, not just stoneman ranting about why chatspeak rock.

Aww, my series didn't get in...Oh well. Now that I think of it, that's a good thing! I reread through that thing and found grammatical errors up the wazoo. I'll edit it again and resubmit it to Josh.

Ahh, but silly-ness aside, nicely done. I think it would be better if the Lupe was severly scorched then turned into sludge, it just seemed to be streching it a bit.
But in any case, I liked it.

Good question. I've seen people around here labeling things "rebuttals" (and then automatically hating them), that really IMO shouldn't have been labeled as such. I don't think all rebuttals are bad, although many of them may be (especially if they're being written for the wrong reasons and/or in the wrong spirit). But in all honesty, if someone writes an article that is making an argument that I disagree with strongly enough, I will write a "rebuttal" or response to it. I won't stop myself from expressing my own opinion on the subject out of the growing fear of how anti-rebuttal everyone seems to be. I don't think I've run into that particular topic just yet though (unless a certain article that I'm sort of thinking about writing counts, but although I think one or two articles have been written on the opposite view on the subject, I'm not directly responding to them at all) ...

Not to mention, I would have loved to see some rebuttals to a few of my articles-- I want to hear the other side of the debate and expect it if I'm writing an article that's making an arguable statement-- but nobody ever wrote any as far as I know.

Unfortunately, I had to change it. She was originally supposed to get a can of Minwax Woodstain, but Josh said he can't use real life (non-neopets) items. So i had to make it a plain can.

The original idea was she got a can of minwax (plushie) for christmas. eh? eh? *cricket sounds* OOoooo, tough crowd.

:-/More Math in the Battledome by beatzero3—It’s OK. I have no idea why some of the paragraphs were put in there though because they had nothing to do with math. At least this one didn’t go right over my head!

:)Chatspeak put in Perspective by sarakrindel—Hmm…this topic is getting popular. However, this article is thoughtfully written and very good.

:-/Chatspeak…But Not Too Excessively Please by chewing_dung—Well, although I disagree with the point made that nobody can get along without chatspeak, this is overall pretty good. As chewing_dung apologizes for at the end, there are grammatical errors, and I couldn’t decipher what he was saying until he made his point at the end, which almost contradicted himself saying that it was annoying, but necessary.

;DWaaah! Why is Neopia Closed? By stoneman3x—A very good, useful, hurmorous, and thorough article!

:-/Crisis Strikes the Conference Room at Neopets, Inc. by alexmax13—Well, although some of these ideas were remotely amusing, the style of the writing was a bit repetitive. I had to read the first sentence over five times before I understood that “new” was actually “knew”. Overall, meh.

/ :-/Weird Foods: Intestine and Marinara by hippiesoul—It was good. I’m not really a fan of these types of articles, but it was definitely original and well-written!

:DHidden Tower Reviews 2 by aachewwthree—A good, useful article. My only problem with it is that there are some punctuation errors.

:)Problems in the Igloo? by infernal_insanity—It could have been developed a little more with a little more evidence, etc., but this was overall interesting and it was certainly original. There were grammatical errors, but mostly minor.

;DMeristones – Beating the Cheater by zeekslider—A good, informative article. While some of the sentences I had to read over in order to understand, this was mostly well-written and it gave some tips that I think I will try.

:DA Modest Proposal by erika_idle—An interesting parody…rather disturbing, though. Of course, there is no famine actually in Neopia, but it was well-written and original nonetheless.
