I mean all of you have good points. But I agree with felabba on agreeing with Karma and Linny.
News flash:
Neopian word of the day: Agree!

I'd like to get to the point where there's no question of what's going through a character's head when you look at their face and not "....hmm, well he LOOKS mad...better read the thought bubble to be sure he's not just constipated". ROFLMAO-- that's my sentiments exactly! I have a question myself to throw into the mix here-- for those here that write articles/stories AND a comic, to you find you get a LOT more feedback through Neomail about your articles or stories than you do for your comics? Or is that just me? Maybe this is a not-so-subtle hint from Neopia or something...

I agree with both Karma and Linny, the joke is the focus, and the drawing is just a method of communicating it. But really bad art can turn you off an otherwise good comic. Personally i'm fairly happy with my art, but my jokes need a lot of work. If my drawing was a lower standard, the comics i do simply wouldn't get in, 'cos they certainly can't stand on humour alone. Aw, shucks lapin. Thankyou. ^^ Ummm . . . Yeah. The art is just the way to . . . make the comic better. I mean, if the art's good, and there's no joke (like my comics T_T), then that should be going to the art gallery or Beauty Contest. *reads what Felabba wrote three more times* Uhh, yeah. To communicate the joke. I mean, it'd work if you wrote a script on paper, just harder to imagine anything and stuffies . . . I don't think I'm really making a point here. Oh well.

I agree with you all when you say the joke is the most important part. Art is just the beautification of it, because everyone prefers pretty things. From all the art, the most important part are expressions, and Karma, I think you are really there (portuguese expression translated literaly, means you are really good) when it comes to expressions.

Yeah. My social studies teacher just taught us about the right and left side of the brain, and she explained why she let us have piccies along with wordies and stuffies like that.
Comics excersize both sides of your brain -- the right side, for the funny part and the art, while the left side for reading.

And to have a good sucessful comic you need to write fairly good material and draw pretty good. They go hand in hand you know.

Unfortunately, many people are good at writing comics but horrible at drawing them, as the Collaborations board so plainly illustrates. There are ENDLESS "Writer Serching for Artist" threads but only one "Artist Searching for Writer" thread. At least, that's how it was the last time I checked.

And so many artists are ripped off because of art thefts, that they don't even want to bother doing the NT stuff. That happened to my friend 0_a who lives over in england.

I hate to be conceited, but I draw really good on paper, and I draw good on the computer, but not as good as on paper. (All that in one sentance?! o.o)
And what week was the sloth running around with pants on his head?

Or is that just me? Maybe this is a not-so-subtle hint from Neopia or something... Yeah. I think maybe part of it is just that it takes so little time to read a comic that maybe people don't think about the effort put into it or it just doesn't occur to them to send feedback as much as it does if they're sitting there reading something for 10 minutes. I don't know. In the same way, articles almost always get more feedback than stories, stories get more than series, etc. I don't think that means that any one section is less worthy than any of the others or that people wouldn't miss it if it was gone. Comics is actually probably the most-read section, or pretty close.

As long as I know SOME one is enjoying my work
