I'm writing a story for the NT, see? (Like almost everybody else here is, but anyways). But, when I send it in, I don't know how. I mean, I know how to email them and everything, but what do you write? And do you attach the text in a document, include it in the email, or give a URL? And would I write like: Type: Short Story Title: Blah blah Blah (insert title here) Username: Eatm1ce
Or what? Please help? ^^;; *sounds like a newbie*

You can do it any way you like, as long as it is readable (ha). I usually put "Title, a Type by Username" (e.g. "Kidnapped in a Bottle, a Short Story by Twayblade807") as the subject, and in the message body I write a note to Feli thanking her etc. I attach the story as a Text Document, with HTML. The only thing that you've said above that I don't suggest you do is to give a URL. I dunno why, I've just never heard of someone doing it. Good luck. Actually, as URL might work, since it is already formatted for HTML when it is put up on the Net. But I think of of the Staff emmbers may be better suited to answer this.

I usually write the whole story, title and username and all, in Microsoft Word. After that, I go to my e-mail and ubmit it. For submitting, I put the story as an attached file, the title of the e-mail is usually Short Story Submission (Flames) unless it's Researchers, and then, the body of the message, I just put a little note to Felicia, telling her what it is this time. Then I send it to the normal NT e-mail address. Sorry if it's confusing.

Well this is how I have done for the last hundred times I have tried sending stuff in. It seems to work.
I make the subject line "Neopian Times Article "Blah blah" by plushieowner" (something along those lines) Greeting to the editor, thank them for their time. I may add a very brief msg if I need to tell Felicia something. I then copy and paste your submission into the body of the email. Saves the editor time looking up urls and opening attachments. I read somewhere they prefer that (Josh?) but you can do it the other way if you want.

I've just written a Continual Series. This one's called _____. Hope you like it! I write the story in Microsoft Word and send it as an attachment. If it's a Continual Series, then I save the seperate parts to seperate documents, but I still send them all in at the same time.

So, would this be an acceptable format?
Title: (your title here) Type: (short story, article, series, etc.) Username: (username here)
Also, for continued series, do you name each of the files what part number they are? And what if your files aren't the same length, is that going to hinder your submission getting in. (In my case, they are all at least three pages times new roman size 12)
Also, How many parts in a story is considered too much? Although Dragonmist does have a lot of parts.... And is there a preferred file type (doc. txt. etc) for the submissions. If you choose to make a comment at the end of of a part or story. (Giving credit to people for their ideas) do you just hit return a couple of times and say it in italics? Thanks Everyone!

For the submission format: I always send in my stories/articles/whatever in that format, so that is definitely okay. Continued Series: I think the longest series was "As Told by Child_dragon." It's twenty-seven parts. (That must have taken a heck of a long time for Shankly to read).

Hey. I know for one thing, here's how the tile should be:
Title whatever it is By whoever
and the story comes here. Dont attach the story to a word document, they don't like to open them for they may contain viruses. Put the story in the email! Good luck! Ava

I would, if possible, send it as an attachment, though. It makes it easier to read and save (and you want her to save it for further consideration).

I usually put
Title: TitleThingy Username: Meee Type: Series/Short Story/Article/Comic
But recently I've also put . . .
TitleThingy by Meee
^_^ I hope that helps . . . any way is fine, I think, as long as it suits you and the (O' Supreme) Editor both =)

Yeah, I've actually heard that attachments are preferred, but that might not be true.
I do what Tway does. ^^

However, sometimes I add the HTML into the document itself to make things a bit easier.

I think the Editor prefers the story/thing you're sending in/other thing in your email body, instead of as an attatchment (just incase there are bugs, viruses, etc.)
They could also take the link of where the thing you're sending in is, I think. I've tried it for my comics a kazillion years ago, but they were rejected xD
