I really love listening to soundtracks, mostly from movies, but from other sources as well. So I figured, why not have a place to discuss them?
I first got into soundtracks when I was a child, when my Grandma got me the soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone composed John Williams for Christmas. I listened to that CD over and over again, as well as subsequent soundtracks in the series. I branched out to other movies as well. And now, I'll listen to soundtracks for movies I've never even seen.
I'm a visual learner, so I tend to have a deeper connection to music that has images to go along with it, especially a story, like a movie. I'm amazed at how music can help bring the story to life. Soundtracks also expose me to a wide range of music styles, since any genre of music can be used to help tell a story.
I will listen to a soundtrack over and over again, practically memorizing it. They're so interesting, the way the different tracks are related to each other, similar but not the same.
What soundtracks do you enjoy listening to?

For me, it's video games. If a game has a sound test (or something similar), it's a no-brainer for me to keep the game. I'm no visual learner, but the music does set the tone/mood. It also is a good way to characterize a being. I'll use a couple of examples, both from the Fire Emblem series The first is 'Chasing Daybreak' from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It's the main battle theme after the timeskip and is darker in tone due to the ongoing war. The second is 'Id-Purpose' from Fire Emblem Awakening. It's a triumphant one for the final battle. It's also a reprise of an earlier theme, 'Id-Serenity', which is the Avatar's theme

I've been getting to the Winx Club soundtracks lately. Season 5 and 7 have my favorite overall albums.
I also dabble in background music from shows and Anime insert songs.

I'm trying to come up with soundtracks for listening to while on a train. I just remembered about the Infinity Train soundtrack, which is quite good, I think I'll add it to my list.

Oh my stars, I LOVE the Anastasia soundtrack! All the songs are super catchy, and the Prologue OST is kira yaba! I also enjoy the English soundtrack from Belle.

I love listening to good soundtracks, too! Probably have browsed and poked at too many to remember in one post, though. XD I think Ratatouille was one of the first movie soundtracks I bought for myself. I've also been gifted a lot of Ghibli soundtracks (either compilations or full scores like for Totoro and Spirited Away). Chicken Run's soundtrack is one of my absolute favorites! I really like listening to parts of the Shaun the Sheep Movie soundtrack (though I try to avoid over-listening to That One Part that gives me goosebumps every time, because I want it to stay special). " Runaway Caravan" is a great one, though, with great, kinda frantic traveling energy. xP Also love the Megamind soundtrack. =D I've thought about buying it more than once, but then always get disappointed when the "official" soundtrack is incomplete. (Why should I get it when it doesn't even have the opening falling music, or that *chef's kiss* bit where Bad to the Bone transitions directly into the title sequence? Especially when a kind soul has uploaded the complete score to YouTube? xP) For video games, Final Fantasy's Nobuo Uematsu is legendary. I've only played FF 6, 7, 8, and 9 in the past, and 9 has my favorite soundtrack of those. I remember 6 has the Ghost Train, though! Also, Pokemon Masters has some great originals and remixes of older songs. =D ( Drasna and Zinnia can be examples.) Uhhh...lessee, also love various musicals, and my music library includes songs from the Muppets, Hamilton, The Last Five Years, and Hairspray. Sometimes I also look up and listen to songs from plays like The Scarlet Pimpernel and Hadestown. *posts this before I overthink what else I'm forgetting to mention* xD INCREDIBLE SOUNDTRACKS ARE INCREDIBLE
