"The thought of potentially soiled vegetables evaporated as she felt gravel dig into her knees and scrap against her palms. She gritted her teeth as she surveyed the domestic wreckage around her. The turnips were in an inadvertent race to see who could scatter amongst the crowd fastest." ~terpsichorean_writer

And finally the Editorial! Looks like they're starting a little series in there where they interview various site characters, this time starting with Neopet v2 at the suggestion of a user. I wonder where one would go to make their own suggestions

angrily mutters about tripping the neoboard filters Life Improvised by KengplantGriff maintaining his size even as a Chia is so funny and I love the signage outside the lab and SAFETY: NO is just...yes, that is correct. Ice_Rocket's expression at the very end when they return home is gold and Lar is just...amazing. YEET GRUSLEN, STRANGER DANGER
As always I love these details. Eggstravagant Taste by Lex and Luc Draik Egg jokes will never get old. SHIELD YOUR EYES, TILBUR I love that and their expressions in the last panel are perfect. I'm reminded of the time when kads kept asking for Draik Eggs, I think they've since stopped? I'm pretty sure none of them did when I was kadding. The Lost City by HuntressAwww, nice to know they gave the Lizark their plushie pal back. But all's well that ends well, they got their treasure, this was a fun romp with Shad and Saura - but IS THERE REALLY A CURSE, DUN DUN DUNNNNN also Shad's wagging tail, that's so cute. The Floating Islanders by ThemeguyI CAN HEAR THE SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC FROM THE LAST PANEL. More pet slots when, though, TNT? Anyway I like the intros you had for your new pets, and "YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE LEGS TO PULL". I did NOT see that punch line coming at all re: "YOU ONLY SAID THREE NEWCOMERS"

The little guy holding the plushie close as it guides them is adorable, I'm glad they could be reunited ;w; Also nice that Shad and Saura get a second chance at the treasure! With how much they actually trudged through the jungle to get there, at least they made the trip worth it lol. But I love the juxtaposition of Saura's last line and the casual skulls on spears surrounding them haha.
Eggstravagant Taste by Lex and luc187 Sura's face at the end is so sad yet so funny ;o; Poor guy genuinely doesn't know what he did wrong lol, makes me wonder what's going through his head right then. Same with Tilbur, I wonder if he was able to see the Draik eggs and is disturbed like Ralvy, or if he even got a chance to see what was in there lol. Great expressions as always! My favorite is Ralvy's face in the last panel, she reminds me a bit of a hissy cat haha.
The Floating Islanders - Introductions by Themeguy Hello new characters! And that's also fun to see redesigns for some oldies I wonder what kind of NT work Kiki has been up to Also love the designs of the other two with Capturi's winter aesthetic and Betn's faerie+goth combo <3 And poor Kwalow, her face when Sekrat doesn't recognize her is filled with so much betrayal ;; But how sneaky of her to escape the notice of a fellow ninja haha. Ice Rocket pulls the best faces in this comic lol, notably his reaction to Griff's species change and Lar's Gruslen attack at the end xD And echoing what others have said, I love how large Griff is as a Chia and that he retained his original size like pets do on site when zapped, he looks kind of intimidating like a giant totem haha. Also, I only now see this, but I noticed that regardless of what species he is, Griff's little hairs on his head imitate the ears he had as an Eyrie! A fun subtle way to add expressiveness to him while retaining some resemblance to his original design!
A Hero's Journey: How to Meet Your Heroes by Kat This was a fun little tale about novel writing, I'm always a sucker for stories about the creative process! You can tell how passionate Klaudet is towards his work with his unique research methods and apparent willingness to fall out of windows lol. I kind of wonder about his game plan there, if he was planning to fall into the moat despite not knowing how to swim, and if so whether he planned for someone to save him similar to what Rohane did xD But I can also believe that he's just an eccentric guy who didn't put much thought into things until they literally fell through lol.
The parodies of real life titles are fun- Klaudet is such an eclectic writer it seems! Is his name also a reference to somebody from real life?
I can also relate to Klaudet's process at the very end, where he figures out his story just by talking his ideas out loud to Rohane haha. That's a lesson I keep having to learn, that simply speaking my thoughts out loud to someone can greatly help organize them and show me a good path for the story to take. Don't even need suggestions every time, just another person to listen.
Also a small thing, but I thought the thumbnail was pretty fitting, that's neat that they had a writing disco Kacheek image on hand! The chalkboard writing is a bit more on the science-y side, but still, cool how that worked out haha.

I honestly am surprised they had a pretty specific pic for this story haha Thank you for the review, Twillie! When I wrote this I was definitely thinking that Klaudet doesn't really put much thought into how he immerses himself into his novel research, though I can see him planning this out knowing that a knight is likely going to save him since he's right in Meridell Castle. There's no rhyme or reason for him to be named Klaudet; I was trying to think of a name and "Klaudet" just popped up in my brain and felt fitting. I was actually unsure how to end this story as I had only planned up to Klaudet being rescued and him going bananas over being saved by Rohane, who in turn is rather starstruck himself at meeting one of his favorite authors. Eventually I settled on Klaudet rambling at Rohane about his story ideas because it's...something...I do on the regular haha. And I realized that it helped me a lot. Even if it's just "hey uh I'm gonna talk about how deep medieval castle moats are and whether or not they get scummy".
