Just wanted to give a heads up that the Community Liaison and co-editor of the Neopian Times, Mx. Macabre, has announced their departure from TNT today on the r/Neopets discord, with their last day being next Friday, the 23rd. They also introduced the new Community Liaison, Ivy, who will likely make a thread on the Neoboards next week to introduce herself. This also means that Stone will be the solo Editor for the NT for the foreseeable future.
A screenshot of Mac's announcement, with a transcript beneath it:
"Hello, friends! I have some bittersweet news. I have accepted an offer at an environmental justice non-profit as their Community Manager. It's an incredible opportunity for global advocacy, and hugely beneficial for my personal well-being, and I can't turn it down.
I want you all to know with that being said, I am not turning away from the Neopets community without a plan put in place. I have spent months working really hard to advocate for you all, I appreciate the need for someone in this role, and refuse to abandon my post without bringing someone I trust to fight just as hard for you. My last day is next Friday, the 23rd, and I will be dedicating all my time to talking with you both on-site and off-site, checking in, taking final notes about goals and action plans, and training the new Community Liaison on how to advocate for you.
With that said, I'd like to introduce Ivy. She is the newest member of TNT and will be stepping into my role. She is also a long-time player first and always, and she and I will be interacting with all at the same time so she can see how I operate and make the position her own.
I want to thank you all for how patient, supportive, and kind you've been toward me. I know how fiercely you fight for the best Neopia possible, and I respect you all for being so loyal and dedicated to preserving the game we all grew up with. I could not have advocated as well as I did for you without your constant communication and collaboration with me, and your understanding when I would make mistakes. And I certainly wouldn't have been able to get this new job without you. I really mean that. My community management experience may have started with streaming, but you all helped me fine-tune those skills into an arsenal of tools to make communities better places. I hope I can make you proud as I apply what I learned from you to my new job.
Next week, I will be as transparent and communicative as I can with you all to ensure no one is left in the dark. Ivy is wonderful, and I really hope that with her taking on the role, and with your continued support, Neopia can consistently improve, grow, and flourish. Remember to hydrate, and of course, be excellent to your fellow Neopians."
Thank you for all the hard work and enthusiasm you gave during your time with TNT, Mac, and may you achieve the best with your new job!
